Sorry don't mean to crash this deal but JL offer the same TV for +£100 with SkyQ for 1 year and 5 years Warranty.

The Sky Q offer is a bit of a joke really, I've read on a few forums that they charge you £199 installation fee but you can't argue with the 5 year warranty.

Probably the best screen you could get on a tv.

You can get it for the same price from Hughes direct but it also comes with 5yrs warranty and 12 months Sky Q. You could also get JL to pricematch as they're a high street store.
Got the non 4k version.superb TV .Although you would need head testing paying nearly 2k with no 5/6 year warranty.

What's the peak brightness that this set can reach - thinking about HDR content moving forward next year?
Metallifux to ronaldmacdonald
1 Dec 16#10
I think peak brightness is being emphasized too much on OLED sets. OLED sets achieve HDR standards with lower brightness than LCD sets as they don't have the lack of proper black to compete with. LCD sets have to bright so the background looks dark, not unlike a cinema screen where the projection is so bright that the areas of the white screen where light isn't being reflected back look black.

£60 for existing HD customers. And to be fair it does say it in the T&Cs, which are actually quite short and human-readable for a change.
But the Sky Q deal is run by LG, it's not dealer specific so you should be able to claim from Amazon too.

It's OLED.
Yeah. It's 4k too. Which is nice. (Although most people are still watching compressed 4k at the moment which does negate a considerable amount of the benefit, but that's another discussion entirely.)
But it's the display technology you're paying the premium for here.
OLED > PLASMA > LCD
I haven't included LED as there is no such thing. It's just a backlight.

The OLED55C6V with 3D has been £1799 over the past 5 days via a LG approved retailer listed on model info page. Not sure why people dislike the slight curve; it's not even noticeable, includes the same specs and added 3D also cheaper, seems like a no brainier TBH.
I still use the 910V from last year, still great

That's because 3D is dead, no1 wants it and there is naff all in 3D.... Same with 4K really which will probably die out. Even 1080p, only selected channels have . I personally think every channel should be 1080. Also Planet Earth 2 is recorded in 4K but yet you can't watch it in 4K and that's why I think it'll die out like 3D

With the inclusion of 3D you're guaranteed a better TV due to the hardware acceleration needed to pass the QA stages, better processing/ higher graded panel, even if you don't intend to use the 3D feature.
I agree, i've only used the 3D feature a hand full of times.

Did try one of these for a coupe of weeks. Picture great for the most part, viewing angles second to none and blacks actually proper black but very annoying 'jumping / pulsating' pixels in some dark scenes. Very off putting. A down side to having every pixel having its own light source. A common issue with OLED. Went for the 65KS8000 instead after but will return to OLED in a few years when issues have been resolved and prices have tumbled even more.

I was interested in this TV but read the latency for gaming was terrible. Could anyone clarify whether this is the case? I play a lot of competitive games, so while I'm not a snob about framerate, I wouldn't want to be noticeably staggered.
Would be using with PS4 Pro.

I've tried my PC and yes it's laggy unless you switch to game mode where it gets slightly less laggy, I'd say not for games with OLED at the moment.
You're out of luck, seems like they just changed the price this morning at hbh-woolacotts and currys
Was £1799 earlier today at hbh-woolacotts and has been since Black Friday. Cheapest its been at Currys was £1899 with the £100 off voucher.

In my experience they are getting a lot better with their staff knowledge.. that old stereotype about spotty part timers selling you cables is only half of it now! :P
my local has dedicated television/audio reps for each brand (including LG for OLED gear) and they are better at explaining the finer details

4k + HDR isn't dead but broadcast television probably is.
Is a shame really, freesat with much fewer channels but high quality high bandwidth h265 4k HDR streams could probably compete with the streaming services by offering better quality streams without tieing up the broadband connection.
Consoles have had a push to 4k and UHD blu-ray is on the rise. Unfortunately for people without access to FTTC broadband the best TV quality will be streamed for the foreseeable future.

I'm a Panny VT owner, and even I'll concede that OLED is the better tech in terms of PQ.
If it's set up correctly.
And it can be a fairly close call against the likes of the VT and XT plasmas. Or some of the Kuros.
But over LCD? No contest ....

Why pay more for a tv without the 3D even if you won't use it though? And the C6 has better input lag, it's faster.
Your reason for 4k dying out is just plain stupid, "Also Planet Earth 2 is recorded in 4K but yet you can't watch it in 4K and that's why I think it'll die out like 3D", so because you can't watch planet earth 2 in 4k, that means it'll die out? Yeah right, it'll come out on 4k blu-ray and most likely streaming services that support 4k, virgin has just announced their 4k box too, I can't see it dying out at all, I think you're talking rubbish.

I went for the 55" C6V about 2 weeks ago upgrading from a 46" Sony 1080p. Contrast is amazing as is 3d, but I'm still not sold on 55" being big enough to appreciate 4k, I think you need a minimum of 65" to be fair but that's mega bucks if you go OLED. Sky Q is £60 installation if you have the HD package already.

Voted hot, but i prefer LG OLED65E6V, just purchased it from JL with 5 year warranty & Free 12 month SkyQ.
Price advertised is £3999 at JL but i matched it with Curry's so JL gave it for £3899 (£100 off).
Also added care plan i took for 5 years which cost another £99. (this is because I have kids at home and accidental damage is likely to happen). OLED E6 is so beautiful that you can't compare it with any other LEDs in the market. Also the slimmest design is fresh looking and it seems like that you are watching TV just on flat glass, it is slimmer than iphone or samsung s7.
