What are these TVs like for gaming?

If you asking about the Xbox One S
it needs to be 10 bit if i remember correctly and has to have HDR
not sure myself as i am looking forward to the xbox scorpio but if you look it up there will be the minimum specs needed for the xbox one s
Where on the Argos app or website do you enter the code? I can't seem to find it on the checkout.

Proper HDR implementation requires a 10 bit panel. Unless it's a 10 bit panel and the HDR is standardised to one of two standards or both HDR10 or dolby vision they it's not doing HDR properly.

Ive bought this one for my In laws - they are not fussed really just wanted a new 55 TV for around £500. this ticked all the boxes. looks a bargain for the money - did look at currys but no stock left it seems

That's what I thought. I would always get the currys exclusive one over argos even at £50 difference.
As you have the 55uh668v (55inch) from currys exclusive would you be able to tell me if the TV has all the U.K catch up services apps (BBC iPlayer, the ITV hub, All 4 and Demand 5)...?
Its really important for me as I only watch programmes on repeats through the apps at my own time
thanks a lot for you answer

Apologies for the confusion, yes that is the TV I bought and very happy with what I got with the money - the Magic Remote IS included with the Currys one, NOT the Argos one.

I bought the Currys one as I had a £285 Currys voucher that needed spending, but this is a great price - granted, magic remote isn't included with this one but that's more of a luxury anyway. Can't complain for the price.
1.When tv 's say they have freeview hd and freesat hd digital tuners, is this solely for watching or can you record something and watch something else? 2. if you were to purchase this with code where do you put discount code, as in my case if i were to purchase i would have to collect as they do not deliver!

Thanks for this. That's a very comprehensive comparison and, in effect, it confirms that the two are one and the same. The only difference is the stand which, interestingly, makes the UH668 1.4kg heavier. Appears to be a marketing gimmick and no more. The UH668 was initially marketed in continental Europe before making its way here via a Currys exclusive.
I'd prefer the Curry's exclusive because it comes with Magic remote, and apparently all the U.K. catch up TV apps! but the discount code is for Argos only :disappointed:

Im really not bothered by 10 bit panels, they are near £1000 compared to £500, and you just know they will supersede those with something better anyway. I doubt even a Black Friday sale will get 10bit panels down. I fancy the Panasonic TX-50DX700b but cheapest I've seen that is £611. No idea what LG's are like.
4k is miles away, we havent even got Full HD on most channels yet, I need a TV that will be good for SD and FullHD mostly.

Was looking at the 700b myself but apparently is pretty terrible for quick moving images. The LGs have a weird backlighting design which ruins any dark scenes because you can actually see the dimming of the screen as it takes place.
Seems Samsung is the only option right now at the £600 price point. Waiting for black Friday hoping the UE49KU6400 comes down.

Is there any difference between this and theLG 55UH668V available at the same price but seemingly exclusive to Currys? There are skinny reviews on both online but spec-wise they seem to be virtually identical. Yes, there is a 10% Quidco cashback for Currys too since you ask.

10-bit content has more detail in the bright areas of the picture, and more details in the dark parts of the picture. It can also have a greater range between the brightest and darkest parts of the picture.
It wall also have more shades of colour.
You probably won't see a 10 bit panel at 55 inch down to this price for a while though.

Does have HDR but panel is only 8 bit.
Waiting for next week hopefully black Friday/Cyber Monday produces something special

Both apparently have LG's RGBW panels (Faux-K http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/rgbw-201510084189.htm ) Which I would have thought would be more significant than the lack of 10-bit.
