did anyone take a screengrab of the description with bluray? I'm sure it said it too...will pick this up with JL if that's the case.
csmith to beavis2007
2 Dec 16#77
It's still in the description on the page in the original link above. I'm not sure it ever said it had a blu-ray player though, I think it is in the interpretation of the description. Under software included it says:
Power2Go Blu-ray Disc/DVD
PowerDVD 10 Blu-ray Disc/DVD
Then further down in the technical specifications it says:
CD/DVD/Blu-ray Drive Information 9.0MM Super Multi (TRAY IN)
Now as regards the software it can be interpreted that it will play Blu-ray discs and DVD's, and in the technical specs section the part that mentions Blu-ray is more of a heading which thereafter advises that the laptop is fitted with a 9mm Super Multi (whatever that is).
You could argue the description is deceptive, leading you to believe that it came with a blu-ray player, but I don't think that was the store's intention. They've probably just copied the information from the manufacturer's website.

I initially though this, but when you look at any of the laptops (with a media drive) they all say similar.

Guys, I'm not sure I'm going to keep it. The keyboard is a complete disaster.
Keys jammed on top of each other, having to hit the Fn key in order to page down and as for the positioning of the shift key?? Some engineer needs shooting!
Apart from that, I like the laptop, but I think it's a deal breaker.

2 Dec 16#74
Granted, I've seen better keyboards. Ordered one of the Dell's too and I prefer that keyboard, but for me it's not a deal breaker. We got a £350 laptop for £250 with JL's two year guarantee. The keyboard is fully functional, the only slight issue being the right hand shift key being very small because of the positioning of the up arrow key. It's something you will get used to very quickly and after a few weeks of use it won't even cross your mind.

arrived listing stated bluray drive this isnt the case. the keyboard and ports all firm and ok as well as sound.
the only few deal breakers in which ive returned it back it was built in battery a new battery requires to return to lenovo at your cost battery costs from 59.99 plus vat, shipping if out of warranty.
next tried to play a video file which trying its fast forward and rewind functions it struggled to perform as expected my 4 year old laptop never had this issue.
doing a few multitasking performances was ok but not great.
reset it back to factory settings and returned it.

To be honest its an Xmas present so I booted it and registered it in my daughters name. I've owned some cheap laptops in the past (notably Toshiba satellite) and this seems premium compared to them. I'm more than haply with what I've seen of it, I looked at what others have said about the keyboard and I honestly have no qualms.

Confirmed DDR4, they need a bios update instantly to fix the trackpad stuttering when plugged into the power adapter. Sound is decent, screen is acceptable, will be replacing all 3 of mine with SSD's, managed to bag one of each colour over the two days.

Would love to know where they keep getting the stock from if they are selling out all the time. Or do you think they are releasing them in batches to manage their site better?
Anyway at time of typing there are just 3 left so will expire again any second now.

Definitely. Every laptop I have put an SSD in has become orders of magnitude faster, but I would get it and try it first before you do. That way you will be able to tell how much faster it makes it.
Just now finally managed to get one of these (The Dell site was a joke making their offer a waste of everyone's time) and I think it will be getting the 500GB SSD out of the old one with the 1TB disk safely put away fro when it gets sold.
