all these deals coming up for this makes me think retailers know something we don't, how have sales been, have they been poor and it might be going the way of infinity?

I'm thinking the same thing. Crazy prices

i think the game will run for another year as they said a definite 3 year run, but as the new pack with supergirl is launched maybe they are just getting rid of old stock?
also as more portals are being sold (ghostbusters, fantastic beasts etc) this starter pack needs to be cheap as it is the only way to get the disc to actually play the game!

Doubtful. They're on season 2 sets now with various expansions. To shift them, they need to potentially make a loss on the base game to shift all the new add ons.

The real money is being made on the add-on packs. Nobody is interested in paying full price for the starter pack 14 months post-release, or any price above a £40 AAA game really.

Nothing wrong with lego dimensions. They nave people approaching them with there ips. When you get to a stage where people are approaching you to be part of your product you know its pretty solid. The force is strong with this brand. Its pretty simple lower the price, sell more units. The more units owned the more packs they sell. Its like a lot of things these days sell the hardware cheap make the profits on the add ons.

They made their money on starter packs last year ..this is just trying to attract new customers who then spend more on boosters

star wars will be on this in the next 12months or so... Disney infinity was canned for this.
voyager123 to placidsheep
7 Nov 16#23
no it was canned because it wasn't selling they had an infinity 4 in development which look good but they cancelled because of poor sales, which had not one thing to do with this as sales were poor before this came out

I sure hope my local Asda has this for £20, I really want to get the Sonic The Hedgehog pack.

No - unlike Infinity and Skylanders, they don't re-sell portals. The Ghostbusters (etc) "Story Packs" include new bricks to build *on* your existing portal, they don't include a new portal itself.

youre not wrong but licence was a major factor. knowing they could licence out to Lego and make them do all the leg work and they just sit back and cash the cheque.

appears to be only Ware. When I paid for it, it scanned at £45 but the cashier adjusted the price to £20.
