I brought hell and fire on Tesco for taking my money without stock so today they have new stock and sold me one for £189.

I thought the chances of them getting more stock of a 3 year old tablet were fairly remote, so I cancelled and picked up the £159 Samsung Galaxy Tab deal from Currys instead. If you're not tied to the idea of iOS, and are happy with a 10" display, the specification (and reviews) seems good for the money - technology has moved on a fair bit in the last 3 years (as has Android).

Same here, I cancelled my Tesco order to buy from John Lewis due to the extended warranty. My first order with JL... not a great experience!

I ordered a silver one & a space grey this morning, I've just received an email saying that they are unable to deliver all my items, space grey is out of stock, as soon as they have stock they will deliver (if not in stock within 4 weeks they will refund), hoping it will arrive before Christmas!

I managed to order one (the JL page said it was ok) but I've not received the email yet nor had may payment (through Paypal) taken. I'm a bit concerned now that the order didn't actually go though.
Another issue with the original mini is that it was a almost two year old tech when it came out. The mini 2 on the other hand was the latest hardware at the time.

Personally wouldn't buy a ipad min 2. My mini 1 is unusable now - wont be too long before apple do the same with the 2.

Thankfully I didn't update my daughter's mini 1 to the latest IOS available for it. Getting to be a bit of a pain with apps no longer supported. Netflix for a while and iPlayer earlier this month (though you can still access via browser).
Mini 2 and mini 3 are almost identical so both will become obsolete at the same time. That has extended the life of the mini 2 by a year. I've got IOS 10 on the mini 2 and it isn't too bad. Don't think it'll support IOS 11 though.

its really annoying, the kids ipad 2's are now near useless as they are no longer supported meaning some apps not being able to be updated :disappointed:

iPad Mini 2 isn't too bad. The iPad mini 3 didn't update any of the important gubbins so the iPad mini 2 is still fairly up to date for an older Apple product

I've had my Mini 2 for a couple of years now - it is getting a bit clunky, but its still very usuable. I'd say that whatever the next update to the OS will bring might stretch it a bit far. That said, we also have a standard iPad 3 and that's still going well.

lol Agreed not really worth it for me typically Ipad/ Ipods don't get updates after 2-3 years. Each to their own i guess.
Yes, this is just a smaller version of the 2013 Ipad Air 1.

I was gonna say. They're still selling these? :man:
I guess it's how they were still selling the iPad 2 until recently. Milk anyone wanting an Apple logo on the outside of their device nomatter what's on the inside.
