If you have no need for some headphones and just want a Smart Phone, grab it at 30 quid less than this. (I see no need to spend £30 on some headphones)
http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/pay-as-you-go/huawei-p9-lite-black-payg/details Still £130+20topup. (£149.99)
I grabbed it with the 10 quid top up before it went up and have the unlock request going.
Using up the 1GB data and stuff while I wait :-)

I assume the topic on it is still live.

It's not a comfy phone in the hand, I find the Moto G, E and G3 comfier in the hand and less slippy.
The UI is irritating but you need to rummage around the not so nice 'apple-ified' look and then it still there after Google or Microsoft or other Launchers are used. Their messed up icons and menu skin is still there.
Guess I'm so use to 'Android' standard design here.
It's fast can't fault that. Just need to stop it turning the screen of every few seconds while reading or waiting for a time wasting game to load. damn this UI is irritating (though it does give a lot of info).
Hopefully the next version (v5?) that you see on the P9 with Nougat will come to the Lite too.

No it doesn't.

I've got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro. It is running a Snapdragon 650 (20,000 Antutu points faster than the Kirin), 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 5.5" FHD screen, 4,000Mah battery, fingerprint scanner - and it weighs the same as this smaller P9 Lite. Cost £135 delivered.

So given that such phones are available, I'm not sure how the P9 Lite blows them out the water?

If you ordered online, you can call 0800 0790531 and cancel if they haven't process it for shipment to DPD, otherwise you have 14 days cooling period but you need to pay the return postage. You better hurry before EE realised they have another good deal and raised the top up to £20

I've rooted and put a cleaner rom on my s7 edge. It is great. (Just to balance it out completely). It was fine on stock too, I think you've just jumped on to the battery bandwagon.

You get what you pay for with regards to phones (within reason). If the budget is around £100, I'd get an xiaomi mi4. If it was 200-300... Mi 5. Anything above that, and it's typically just brand.

Bit concerned about this reoccuring pack charge or attempted charge

Pack renewal
We'll add a new pack every 7 or 30 days and take the cost of the pack from your credit. If you don't have enough credit for your next pack, we'll let you know so you can top up and start it again straight away

Although does say

The legal bit
Pay As You Go Packs: Packs automatically recur. If pack cannot recur because you haven’t topped up, we’ll try taking payment for 90 days. UK only. You can opt out at any time.

That is where the business is located/originated from.

Nobody understands that pretty much every phone has chinese components inside.

Ok some phones have components and parts from 5 or 10 different countries. But the majority of the parts/components will be from china/korea/taiwan.

These people think 'oh no... its a chinese brand so it is trash'... WRONG. They'll use the same CPU and GPU and others components as to what the most expensive phones in the world have.

Surprised there are still people that do not understand what the expression "chinese phone" means.
It is just an expression, yes, we do all know iPhones are made in China, BUT, it is not a chinese phone!
Chinese phone means:
- a phone designed by a chinese company (apple is not one of them)
- a phone designed for the Chinese market, that means no CE compliance, no Google Apps, as they are banned in China etc
- a phone coming with specific Chinese apps
- a phone following Chinese standards regarding quality control
- a phone with no virtually no warranty
- a phone that rarely has all the 3G/LTE bands needed in Europe/US
- a phone that rarely has all the sensors we take for granted (ecompass for example)
- a phone that rarely comes with decent English menus, instructions, manuals etc

wenttoabetterplace
4 Nov 16 #108
I don't think you really understand the market.

Most Chinese phones now come with international ROM's that are clean of any Chinese apps....and have full Google app support.

The Xiaomi phone I own also has a UK warranty of sorts....and has all the LTE bands, GPS/Glonass/compass etc.

More to the point....Huawei is itself one of these Chinese brands. It has only recently made a real push to get into Western markets.
samseng

sort of a warranty... sounds about right.
Huawei is on the western markets for the last 10 years or so. Almost all Mi-Fis dongles etc are Huawei. The Huawei G300 was a favorite here on HUKD about 4 years ago.
But yes, it is a Chinese brand. Chinese management. Chinese skyware.
But the phone is built for the western market. Huge difference.

About 1% of the Xiaomi deals/owners have the new version that comes with band 20.
samseng
4 Nov 16 #114
Actually Huawei has been in the western market for a long time providing infrastructure network equipment and for those of you who remember, their 3G dongles. I had used their phones for company purposes as far back as 2012. It is more recently that the "Chinese" sellers are starting to up their game and enter into the more premium market and still provide value for money
MaximusRo
4 Nov 16 #115
Makes you wonder how come you buy from China but have a warranty in the UK...
So if every phone is Chinese, are you saying we can all buy from Aliexpress any phone and have a UK warranty and everything else?
So in fact, if according to you, all phones are Chinese anyway, and are all equal, why isn't anyone buying from China... hmmm...
wenttoabetterplace
4 Nov 16 #116
You make a habit of leaping to conclusions without the facts....

I bought my Note 3 Pro PRIME from AliExpress. As part of the purchase price ($8 ), I have an additional warranty that means I can send the phone to a UK (or possibly European) service centre. From what I remember, it is the same kind of service that other manufacturers use now that most of them avoid doing warranty stuff in house.

To be fair, the phone is flat to a smooth concrete floor....and the actual pressure coming through each of those tires is going to be <250kg. So it's entirely plausible that a phone can survive that.

Anyway, I'm not sure why the other person complained about the lack of gorilla glass on the Xiaomi phone. The P9 Lite doesn't have Gorilla Glass either.

Lol. Why are you so eager to prove that your purchase decision was better than everyone els... oh ..ohhhh right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choice-supportive_bias
Never mind :sunglasses:

If you're happy with your phone then just be happy. Overall the two are actually remarkably similar and the 'best' is almost always entirely subjective and down to personal prefernce.
Why waste minutes of your life with this pointless back and forth.
Here's a little secret about life, nobody actually cares what anyone else thinks.

Not really Samsung confirmed to me that i had a faulty motherboard and could not replace it as there was a worldwide shortage of parts due to a lot of people having the same issue. I don't expect a 2 month old phone to be broken and have Samsung wash their hands of it. Vodafone did aswell it was 3 phone calls, 3 store visits and an official complaint to the chief exec before i got a new phone. The customer service from Samsung was just awful, no offer of a new phone or even a loan phone just its not been repaired 4 times so we can't do anything apart from send it away but don't know how long it will take could be anywhere upto a month. A MONTH wiothout a phone i am still paying for thanks Samsung.

I also had issues syncing my LG Urbane with the edge 7, The sound is tinny due to the water proofing and the GPS kept putting me in the wrong location. Every day when at work it had me a mile down the road.

Ill never buy another Samsung phone, this was the second chance ill stick to Huawei and LG phones.

This is a forked version of Android Marshmallow, and doesn't seem to allow the SD card to be viewed as internal storage...

As such, if you use apps that create a lot of offline content (offline nav apps, iPlayer etc), or big games etc, you'll soon find yourself managing the limited space.

32GB internal would have been a better amount of storage.
4Real2016
4 Nov 16 #136
Correct, the SD Card can be used as storage, it cant be used as Adoptable Storage that's normally available in Marshmallow, Adoptable Storage allows your SD Card to be adopted as part of the internal memory.

You are correct. As Jagg4 eluded to, most components are outsourced to OEM and can come from anywhere and is widely available everywhere. It is also easier and more efficient for manufacturers to form local partnerships overseas to service their products, especially when the knowledge based is widely available. At least you bought wisely

5 Nov 16 #145
I wasn't seeking to demonstrate that my purchase was better than everyone elses. I was simply correcting the 'facts' that the other contributor was laying down. As I have since evidenced, this P9 Lite does not 'blow away all the Chinese phone deals'. It is a decent phone....but it is still relatively pricey given the specs. So given this is a deals website, I think it's good for people to know that there are better specified alternatives for less money.
derp1664
5 Nov 16 #146
Fair enough that's pretty reasonable. Remember though 'better specified' is still going to be pretty subjective as certain features are more important than others for some people and there's always going to be a fair amount of personal preference too

Not better, and not for less money, just different.
You seem to aggressively push the idea your purchase of a Chinese phone from Aliexpress is the better choice ("blows this deal out of the water" ?)
This is sold for the UK market, with a proper UK warranty.
The deal in this thread includes the headphones which some say can be sold for around 65 pounds. Maybe you are missing this part from the equation? I think the poster who said this phone blows out of the water all other chinese phone deals meant it as such (the package value) and at the original 169 -65 = 104 for a phone you buy from the UK.

Hard to compare with something from Aliexpress that you cannot really be sure will come, will work, will not incur custom duty etc.
But I surely appreciate the new Xiaomi with band 20 and the so called international ROM, however, that doesn't change the fact that 99% or so of the Xiaomi sold so far where the ones coming with no band 20 and the chinese ROM that people had to fiddle to replace.
We can easily find about 20 deals or so for the Xiaomi and probably just one or two for the international version.

The ONLY reason I said anything at all was to refute that rather nonsensical claim that this Huawei blows all Chinese phone deals out of the water. It just doesn't. It has a significantly slower processor, half the internal ROM, a 25% smaller battery.
As for the cameras...the IMX218 in the Huawei is better - but in decent light, the differences are marginal at best. Neither camera is good in low light - so neither phone is really going to be bought for the camera performance.
http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=283429

Also, the consensus about the Beats headphones are that they are cheap feeling, and are unlikely to even get £50 (which after fees and hassle is actually going to be £40 or so).

Basically, this Hauwei isn't the only option out there. It is decent though.

how does the phone compare to the Moto4?
samseng
5 Nov 16 1 #166
you are right. I was out in Asia recently whereby I compared a number of Xioami phones to Huawei as they are both big out there and I had my daughter's Moto G4 to compare with and there is little to choose between them (Huawei and Xioami) other than the G4 looked a poor cousin to them. The Motorola is not being sold out in those markets. I tried to find out why from my contacts out there and the look they gave the phone probably said a lot. This has a lot to do with the culture out there rather than anything to do with the phone itself
there are those like yourself who are brave enough to take a pun and source for up and coming good products (and they are quite a few out there) which hasn't arrived at these shores and some may never as the demand from those markets may outstrip their capacity. I wouldn't myself as I will get no head peace from my family if something goes wrong.

I managed to buy this deal from the EE store in Lancaster including £10 top up for £159. I took along with me an old T-mobile sim which they converted to EE. Unsure how it all happened, they asked me to pay £159.99 as the final amount including £10 top up. I think I overhead him telling the manager that the system has knocked further £5 off as a result of converting the sim. As I said, I don't know how the system came up with £159.99 including £10 top up. Folks may try in store if you have ee, tmobile or orange sim as its better with them. At least you can use my receipt as evidence.

I just went and did this in store. I can see some people have been paying less but I was happy with £179.99 to get it in my hands today. For the money, the phone is excellent, the Beats EP get great write ups (because they're actually about the right price and good quality) and despite this argument over Chinese phones, Huawei has proper UK support - I think you still get 3 months VIP premium as well as 2 years total warranty.

The setting he mentioned for the P9 Lite changes the default location of App Data to the Micro SD and is the only alternative aviliable to adoptable storage. It seems to work as their was a few threads online about it when I was looking for a work around to adoptable storage on this device. Im unsure myself about iplayer as they state they don't support SD storage and that their right holders state it must only be stored on the actual device being used to view it.

In the first EE store I went to, the assistant was adamant it can only be unlocked after a 6 month wait. But I knew better than that from HUKD and went into the other EE just down the road where the assistant was helpful enough and said she would action the unlock for me, but that it CAN take up to three weeks. I'm ok with that, but still hoping it might be days rather than weeks. Also, don't use the EE sim that comes with the phone at all, otherwise the data will eat into the 10.00 credit and there won't be enough to pay the 8.99 unlock.
Also, in store you won't get much choice in colour. This one only had black for both the phone and headphones.
jordanc93
6 Nov 16 #203
The £8.99 charge only applies to those who have bought the phone on a contract. If you have bought it on pay as yo go from EE it's free to unlock as long as you register the phone to your EE online account.

No such luck with the phone price here.

At first I was told it was £200 for the deal. Then they checked the system and told me it was £179. Because I am not with EE I was told it was £8.99 to unlock a payg phone and that it would take upto 3 weeks. I said are you sure about this and they said yes. I said OK then I will take the deal but they didn't have any stock - come back Wednesday. Typical.

I might just leave it and wait for the CPW sale at Xmas or black Friday because at least when you go there to buy a phone its straight forward not all this messing around buying topups you don't need and waiting three weeks for an unlock code and trying to sell some headphones to make it a good deal.

So i think they may have lost a sale.

Ordered Gold phone + Black headphones on Friday lunchtime.
Received this email Sunday morning:

"Your order is almost complete - we will have you up-and-running with superfast 4GEE soon.
We need a bit more information from you to complete the order. If you can give us a call on 0800 0790531."

Just phoned them and I think she said the Gold was never in stock and shouldn't be on the system and it couldn't be re-ordered but they have Black on the system but it will take 1 or 2 weeks to be delivered.
Something like that as I was going to cancel anyway so wasn't that focused.

With the email saying the 'Order is nearly complete' arriving 2 days after the order placed when it clearly wasn't and the confusion the EE staff have over unlocking it's not exactly a good advert for using them.

I've just seen the headphoneless version online. It says a £20 minimum there so looks better to get in store.

Can anyone confirm that this is a dual sim phone or not? Online reviews suggests it is and that you might be able to "hack" the 2nd sim/microSD card to use both simultaneously as shown here. I did the same recently but used Acetone rather than a hair dryer to remove the back off the SIM.

When I went to enquire in my local store they were trying to push me into getting an EE contract too. I said I used to be on Orange and they were terrible for CS therefore I think EE would be even worse. I said I just want the phone deal and an unlock code. When they went to get the phone low and behold no stock - come back another day. They said its a popular phone and must have sold out over the weekend. BS. They sold out in my local store last week when it was posted as a deal for just the phone.
Any deal that gets this hot on here has a chance of impacting stock levels.
Making insulting comments about a retailer whose store you are in is tactless especially when you consider that they'd rather sell to on going EE users than people who just want the phone.
If it was my business and I was low on stock I'd happily not sell to someone with your attitude.
JerzyBulovski

Just do what I did - I told them I had a works phone and I only needed a PAYG phone since I only put about a fiver on every 3 months. End of discussion.

You could point them to this:

Doubt they will be able to give you an unlock code there and then as I think this is down to the manufacturer. I registered online and then called ee customer services and they have supposedly sent off the unlock code request which they will forward on when they receive it.

EDIT sounds like dual SIM won't work on UK model see 2 posts below.

We've just bought it without the headphones. Cost was the £129.99 +£10 topup. The very helpful chap in store helped out with the unlock and there was no charge for this as it states on the EE site for PAYG phones the fee is for pay monthly and that's only after 6 months into contract.

As per info from jordanc93 see below it won't work as dual SIM I can confirm that there is only one IMEI posted on the side of the box more info here.

The VNS-L31 is dual sim but the second SIM card option is disabled on these UK models. Dual sim is only enabled in certain countries

This is interesting as I filled out the form to unlock my PAYG (bought from a shop on Sunday for what you paid for yours) and I think it stated an £8.99 charge for it. They said they couldn't unlock it in the shop, too - it took 48 hours before it could be done.

It's definitely free to unlock even for a "new to EE, PAYG" customer? If so, I'll be moaning on general principle.

I know this gets covered from time to time but there are often conflicting reports....If EE unlock it, are there no changes to the warranty conditions but if you unlock it via a third party, there are?

Is it possible to sell the EE voucher on ebay, or just bin it.

Ringing 150 what numbers do you press next ?

I seem to get sent in a loop of useless options.

Once almost got to technical help it then said I have no credit and I need to top up as it will cost 25p.

I paid £10 for a Everything pack but it shows £0 credit also will EE try to take another £10 off me next month ?

Timeline for me was
I saw the deal last week (Monday) with it at £129.99+£10 top up (online)
By the time I got to ordering one online (Thursday, probably), they were £129.99 + £20 top up (online).
I bought one on Sunday from an EE shop (in Stoke on Trent) for £129.99 + £10.
No one mentioned anything about the price going up during the 9 hours it took me to get the phone out of them

All depends on the poorly trained staff

Almost got the deal for £159 incl headphones & £20 credit but one of the other staff butted in and said I had to pay £179.

I asked how much it was without headphones and he said £129.99 + £10 credit - so I bought that instead.

Thanks guys.

I'm going to pop in tomorrow and try and pick up the £129 deal but I think it will be out of stock.

So if I don't have an EE account I will need to pay £8.99 for an unlock code?
JerzyBulovski
8 Nov 16 #250
This is my question, too. I believe it's that price for PAYG customers but someone previously said it was free which ifind hard to believe. I'll never use mine on EE so taking it of of my credit doesn't really bother me.

Be nice to know for sure, though.

Be sure to specifically ask for the 3GB RAM version, though, as they appeared to have both in stock for the same price where I got mine.

It mentions it here - http://ee.co.uk/help/getting-started/joining-ee/unlocking-your-device - that you can unlock the mobile for free. This was taken from the website: " If you’re on pay as you go, you can unlock your phone as soon as you get it...There are no charges for unlocking for pay as you go devices bought from EE and our indirect partners." I haven't tried it myself as I am holding out for the gold version, has anyone had any luck in getting the gold?

9 Nov 16 #257
I just spoke to EE customer service, who put me on hold to check with colleagues with regards to the gold model.

She came back and said that the gold model does not exist, they've never had stock of the gold model ever. It was a error on their part for listing it as gold, and again their error for not notifying customers who bought gold that they wouldn't get the gold model.

I've since sold the headphones, i told her this and she said that she can't refund me then. It has to be returned as a complete package.

This is disgusting to say the least, now im stuck with a phone that i didn't order. I told her even if i had the headphones, returning it isn't a option as i've ordered up a £12 case and a £1 screen protector. Despite the mistakes and huge inconvenience to me, they told me i'd have to keep it... WOW. This has to be the worst customer service i've ever dealt with.
skura786
9 Nov 16 1 #258
maybe you shouldn't have been so quick to sell the headphones to make a quick buck.
J4GG4
9 Nov 16 #259
It wasn't to make a quick buck, it was because i dont need them.

Plus that is besides the point.

I ordered gold, they sent black.

They told me its their mistake.

Admitting that they made the mistake, they should correct.

Headphones or not, they sell the phone WITHOUT the headphones too. Its just an excuse for them.
Crossbow
9 Nov 16 #260
Obviously. This is how deals like this with any retailer/company has always worked. You have messed up here & now having a problem admitting it.
zeberdys
9 Nov 16 #261
Well you have to laugh after I cancelled my order for gold and headphones as no stock EE had cheek to ring me saying noticed had been on their web site and was there a phone I was interested in tried to push an Iphone 5s at me for £18.99 a month.

Obviously does not use Hot UK Deals and know we don't pay that sort of silly money and most have Sim only deals. My current 1000 mins 4Gb data and unlimited texts is about £3 a month after cash back paid regularly by mobiles.co.uk.

Made me realize how good my old Oneplusone 64Gb phone is and recommend a good second hand one of these to anyone.

Now if the Shure SRH840 do turn up that featured on here that will be a Hot Deal this one was certainly NOT !!!
skura786
9 Nov 16 #262
i assume you received the headphones and the phone at the same time, so why so quick to sell the headphones? it was a package deal so EE would want it all back to process the refund. Simple.
J4GG4
9 Nov 16 #263
The first person to mess up was EE. Therefore it was their mistake in the first place.

If i kept the headphones, then its still their problem to resolve. Which they cant resolve as the gold model doesn't exist. It is a chain of catastrophic errors on EE's part.

Anyway, i lodged a complaint and they've called me back pretty much instantly, admitting fault and i've received a nice bit of compensation for my troubles and inconvenience.

I guess it wasn't my fault after all
J4GG4
9 Nov 16 #264
Their solution was this:

I get back the headphones, i send the headphones + phone back to them.

They then resend me the same headphones back with the replacement phone.

If you think that makes any sense then please be my customer.
skura786
9 Nov 16 #265
It is what it is - if a company sells you a package deal they will require it all back if you require a refund. Regardless how did you expect them fix the situation if the gold phone never existed??? What were you expecting to get all your money back without sending back the headphones?? Anyway enjoy your compensation which is what i am sure you were after all along after realising you were partly at fault.
J4GG4
9 Nov 16 #266
I know that, you're completely missing the point.

Their resolution for me was this:

I get back the headphones, i ship the headphones + phone back to them. They then ship me back out the same headphones and either the gold model or another phone. That was their resolution.

I run a business, so i know how it all works. However if i sold a product on its own or bundled as a package, so long as its not packaged together in some bundled packaging then i consider the items separate. If a customer needed to exchange one of them, then i would offer the exchange for only that particular item. If they decided they only wanted one of the items, then i would ask them to return part of the bundle and i will refund part of the money. That is how i operate and actually i've done this before. Its kept the customer happy and it makes sense.

Its nothing to do with trying to get compensation. I want the gold phone that i ordered. I'd rather my exact order than any compensation.
skura786
9 Nov 16 #267
Thats the thing they were never going to just exchange the phone without requesting the headphones back also - to them it is one product not two separate items. (Did they say the gold model exists or not)
ficosaneil
9 Nov 16 2 #268
I think you've made this mess yourself. If you didn't want the phone then it was pretty silly to 1) sell the headphones and 2) buy accessories for the phone...
ficosaneil
9 Nov 16 1 #269
EE have made a mistake with the listing, they offer people who don't want what they got a refund. Pretty straight forward to me... unless you sell part of the package then complain and want a refund
J4GG4
9 Nov 16 #270
You're missing the point too. I did want the phone that i ordered. The phone is a gift its security sealed. So without checking the sticker on the side of the box to check its colour or opening it. You won't know the colour of the phone. Off chance i so happened to randomly read the sticker on the box and that's how i know it was actually the black model and not the gold. I want the phone that i ordered, not a different colour. I always trust big retailers that sell phones, ive never had a problem before and i always order a screen protector and a cover as soon as possible. But it doesn;t matter now, EE accepted they made the mistake and therefore compensated me after i accepted to accept the black model.

Oh and i got rid of the headphone BEFORE i knew the colour of the phone was incorrect. I don't like breaking seals on phone boxes when its a gift for someone either. If the phone was for me, i would of opened it as soon as i got it BEFORE selling the headphones, then i would of returned all for a refund.

JerzyBulovski
9 Nov 16 #275
When I read this "gold phone + headphones" problem, I thought it was J4GG4's mistake but I think it's fair enough that if you order a gold one (do you have a copy of the original order specifying gold?) and you get a black one then they should exchange the phone irrespective of the headphone situation.

Asking for a refund is a different issue entirely. A replacement would seem reasonable.

Just for anyone worried about the unlock.
(Bought phone on its own with the ten quid top up option)

After activating my £10 credit by making a call etc. 7days ago...
I then created my EE account, waited a bit having a coffee.
Went for the Unlock page, did what it said and of course it then mentions the cost (a left over I guess or error as this is payg)

Anyway, they today had an SMS (I had used my other phone number, not the sim number) saying it may take longer than the 10 days as they need to ask the manufacturer.. 30 mins later an unlock code in my email.
Popped other SIM in and worked. Switched back as I have data to use up :-)
Job done.
No hassle.
So yes it is free and easy.

Good old BT must have improved service since I was on last on Orange/EE, (just before BT bought them up)

12 Nov 16 #300
I believe the way it works is the pack activates and uses up the £10 credit once you make a chargeable call or text or use mobile internet. You should be able to stop it if you put the SIM card in and text STOP PACK to 150 straight away and if that doesn't work you might have to ring EE helpline and explain you wanted the credit and not a bundle pack in which case they may cancel the bundle and put the £10 credit back on.

The advantage Huawei has is they also 'make' the processor. The trouble they have is altering their fork of Android for their EMUI interface.

yes got the normal G4 sim (single) free (black only) from CPW a few months ago for a teenager for £129 norm price then. The P9l is a much much better phone but whether the G4 or P9 depends on the user as I found out the young teenagers preferred the g4 and older ones the P9.

Unlocking for payg is free from EE but could take anything from 6 days to 2 weeks for the code to arrive from huawei. Online purchase from them is crap as their system is a mess and better to see if you could find a deal in store. all these info plus unlocking code or enabling the dual sim capability, screen protectors, and case you can find on the older thread posted by the same OP

Bit of a saga getting this phone unlocked. Register on the EE website, fill the form in. Wait 8 days to get a text telling me that the phone isn't registered. Ring customer services costing 25p, they register the phone then have to fill the form in again. It's coming up for 10 working days and still nothing except a text saying that I've been sent an email to confirm my email address (which I already did before I filled the first request in).

You can't chat with anyone on EE with a PAYG phone, either, to get more info...always 25p to ring someone up.

No wonder they get poor customer service reviews.

Sorry for replying to this almost 3 month old deal (it's already expired anyway), but just thought I should mention this deal was mentioned on the News Quiz (Radio 4 ) today.

Not sure what should surprise me the most
a) The News Quiz is 3 moonths out of date
b) The deal is expired
c) This deal, nevertheless, still got to almost 1000 degrees ( "Was £169.99 ! Now £179.99" which is why it was mentioned on the News Quiz)
