Anyone with any questions about the phone...unlocking etc i'd flick through the previous deals for it
On the internet both deals have now finished and the price jumped up by £30 on each along with the top up being £20 instead of instore £10.
After seeing todays post though i'm going to try my local store tomorrow to see if i can get one for the £129
Worth holding out to black friday to see if it gets even cheaper? :smirk:

Went to two local stores today, both out of stock with black. Second store had some gold, price was £159.99 + £10.00 topup. Buying for Mom so gold colour is ok, so I went for it. When they rang it up ... £129.99 + £10.00 topup. Worth an ask instore if you are ok with the gold colour ...

You've posted comment this on at least 3 phone deals in the last week, you never give any detail so you're either pretty clueless or just trolling......
Thanks, that's all that was needed, at least folk can make an informed decision now.

Shame, almost got the huawei p9 but realised the dual lens don't have optical stabilisation either. Looking for a contract to, didn't want another Samsung and the Galaxy Pixel is to expensive, maybe the HTC 10 is the one for me.

Been and bought one this morning, on the shelf it still states this price £129.99 but with a £20 topup, then the BeatsEP offer is listed as £159.99 + £10 topup. I spoke to the girl there and checked they had stock then queried the £20 asking if it could be done for £10 and other than telling me a Virgin sim wouldn't work said that it could be a £10 topup. I ignored her lack of knowledge that the Virgin Sim even shows as EE in the status bar and bought one anyway. She did also tell me that it would only get 3G even though in a 4G handset, not sure how true that is or even if my wife even has a 4G sim currently.
Seems a good chunk of phone for £139.99.

This is a single sim - someone said on HUKD that 2nd sim has been blocked in UK but it is possible to remove the block.
Does anyone know how to remove it?

It's complicated and involves re-flashing the firmware with a dual sim version. You have to root the phone, unlock the bootloader and then update the firmware. It has been reported that it does not always work, and most certainly voids the warranty. It's also a grey area as to the legality of it, as to make it work it effectively duplicates the IMEi number for both slots ('proper' dual sim has two IMEi) Not for the uninformed for sure, and you also risk bricking the phone right away.
Do it at your peril

Just checked this deal out in my local store. They're advertising (not sure on stock exactly) the PAYG deal for 129.99 plus 10 top up but the store assistant told me they don't allow unlocks for 6 months, contrary to what the EE website says. I can't find info on this anywhere and wondered if anyone had any insight into it?
Has anyone received their unlock code? do they sms this?

21 Nov 16#30
My unlock has just been turned down by ee as I haven't had the phone long enough. It says please try again in 6 months which they say is the minimum term before I can unlock which I know is ballshite but can't keep on waiting, it's been over 2 weeks now. Haven't had much luck as this the second time I've tried.

You can use dc unlocker and do it yourself for less than £4, thats the way im going to have to do it as £20 (was £6 a couple of weeks ago) is stupidly expensive to unlock a huawei phone.
The odd thing i started the process over the phone, so actually spoke with someone and the guy said there be no problem or any charge so wasnt expecting i get a text today (exactly 10 days from the call) say they wont unlock.
Still wondering if im unlucky or this could be a more wider clamp down on unlocking straight after purchase?
tabuser
21 Nov 16#35
Wow that is bullsh*t and they had better sort themselves out otherwise this is going straight to trading standards. I purchased two of these phones with the understanding that I could unlock them immediately. No unlock, these go back and I go get them from O2 where the one I got was already unlocked (but came with no charger ).

I did a minute ago on my ee p9 lite and it worked perfectly. All in it cost 4 euros= £3.52 for 4 credits.
I will say, follow whats exactly written down on the tutorial i posted. Dont like me miss step 1 and wonder why it cant find my phone and make sure where it says select manufacture, select huawei phones and might be a good idea to run the dc unlocker program in administrator mode.
Lastly make sure huawei hisuite does connect to your phone ok, with that you should be good to go.

I just checked with my local store and they confirmed £140 or £170 with the headphones, including the compulsory top up. I'll be very annoyed if I can't unlock instantly and for free as that's exactly what the EE website says you can do.

MY EE account finally updated the device type, and I was able to submit the second unlock request for the second phone I bought. On the confirmation page it says the unlock costs £8.99, contrary to the free of charge indication on the webpage. I tweeted EE and got zero response...

Bought these for my folks ... they live in a different country so I have to get them unlocked or it's pretty pointless. They don't have EE there.
Time will tell ... If not, I too will go the DC-Unlocker route.

22 Nov 16#42
Filled in the online form for unlocking and got the "it will be £8.99, make sure you have enough credit" confirmation. We'll see what happens. I don't have enough credit and it clearly says on their website that unlocking is free for PAYG phones.

I went in my local EE shop and they wanted £20 topup plus £129.99 for the phone but I've got an EE sim already with credit on it but you can't transfer the topup to your sim so I would be stuck with a £20 useless sim I phoned EE about the free unlock code they wouldn't confirm if the would give it up straight away and If it is free same thing I the shop may just lick Argos at lease I know where I stand with my phone

The P9 and the P9 plus have the dual lens Leica camera. I think the Mate9 also has the dual lens. The difference is of course the other phones all cost £350+, whereas this was £129 ... or £149.99 depending on your viewpoint.

Can someone please confirm if this has a 3GB RAM. GSMarena says 2GB or 3GB. Confusing!!
And how fast the fingerprint sensor is?

The fingerprint sensor is fast and also has smart gestures. For the RAM, if you get a L21 model it has 2GB, L31 has 3GB. The one I got from EE was L31 and so 3GB.

The offer is still live instore, went to my local and they are giving the beats headphones (overrated I know) for an extra £30 plus £10 top up so all in £170. Still much cheaper than what CPW are offering- £230 just for the phone. Have to wait till Tuesday as it's out of stock they are flying off the shelf the rep was telling me. it's good for a backup or someone who needs a good phone without the extra bells and whistles. I'm getting it for my mum and since she's got a cheap sim only deal she can still keep her number and use the ee sim for data (use the £10 top up for a data only pack) at the same time as the phone is also dual sim capable.

You need the sim in to register it, as they send a text, though not sure if this could be done in a different unlocked phone. You also need to enter the unlock code, though this could probably be done when phone opened.I've bought this for someone and told recipient I would need to open to make sure it was fully charged.

Received message from EE to say that there was a problem unlocking the second one. Debated calling them and going through the entire process again, but then decided for £3.68 DC-Unlocker was a better choice. Took less than 5 minutes to buy credits, connect the phone, and unlock it.
Now the proud owner of 3 unlocked P9 lites, all in for £437.68 .... Parental units are going to have a good XMAS, and I will be enjoying my data packs for the next few months ...
In case you wondering, I got the third unlocked from O2, but it came with no charger - that cost me another £3.99 from Amazon, so all in actually £441.65 - bargain price for the phones, parents are going to love their upgrades from Samsung S2, S3 and S4 respectively.
