Can you have an SSD as well as a mechanical HD in this laptop? Like an m.2 + hd?

No idea but I'm guessing almost certainly not. Easy enough to use an external one to store films etc on if you need to though.
Just noticed this after I brought one this morning. Don't know whether to wait or just cancel it. Hard to see another laptop with an i3, full HD screen and an 256gbSSD going sub £300 though.

Which laptop is that, can you link me pls? Thanks

Sorry, I think you may have misunderstood me. I brought the one in this deal, realised its probably not HD as it claims to be and I said its unlikely that we'll find one at this price with a HD screen and all the other specs. Not that I had found one.

Possibly not. Ssd is something that can be added though, new screen isn't really.

Are you 100% sure that the screen is not 1980x1080? I just really want a laptop and missed out on the other deals and feel like buying this one. Also is the RAM upgradable on this laptop? I might want to change it to 8GB further down if it is.

27 Nov 16#18
My bad. Have you checked about the screen and can you confirm if it is 1920x1080 or is it the lower res? Also do you know if the RAM is upgradable?

I can confirm 100% that the screen is FULL HD
It is 100% full HD 1920 x 1020 , 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.0
They have a demo unit so the specs are now confirmed.

Then what is the actual product code as the one they quote isn't?
Captainbill
27 Nov 16#21
They are out of office and there is no way for me to even cancel a pending order on the site or ask a question about the product. Most other sites seem to have the laptop listed as "HD 1366x768" or omit the information entirely though. It appears you can upgrade the laptops memory but it require the whole bottom of the laptop to come off.

So confirmed means they told you so, not you've seen evidence?

I have seen the screen with the resolution of the screen showing as 1920 x 1080 full HD so 100% official .

I've just had an email back from the site which said:
So it seems to be full HD, it just doesn't make any sense why searching the product code, on every other site you can find it, lists it as 1366 x 768. Can always return it if it's not I guess.

Guys I may be of use. i bought mine of Laptops direct and there website stated it was FULL HD. when i received it i checked the model number and compared it to other sites and most say 1366x768. obviously i was annoyed so rang them up and they said yes it's defo FULL HD so i said can I turn the laptop on to see if it is and will i be able to return if it isn't she said yes. checked it and it WAS FULL HD. so i reckon its worth you doing the same thing. If it isn't then your guaranteed a return as it is false advertising.
Looks really good too and feels and looks premium too space grey wow

What's the screen quality like? brightness, colour, viewing angles, etc?
Captainbill

Brought as a present so I only booted it up briefly to check that it was indeed 1080p. screen quality seemed decent.

Personally, better off with an i5 processor if you want to futureproof it. No mention anywhere of an optical/dvd drive either.

If you can find any i5 laptops with SSDs for under £300 I'm all ears. Personally I think people are better off with a macbook pro.

It's alright. Fast, boots things up quick and shuts down fast. Only thing I don't like about it is the viewing angles. I haven't used a laptop in maybe two years and the screen hurts my eyes when looking at it for a bit. Also the angles for viewing aren't that great imo.
Also to people who got the laptop, how's the battery life? Mine is not that good it seems, I'm not sure atm I mean it seems to be going down pretty fast with not much use.

Hmm so doesn't seem that great a purchase? I'm not sure whether to get this or one of those cheap Chinese tablets with a keyboard dock. Can't be doing with bad screens

Only checked mine today and happy to find it is a 1080p screen. Very happy with the laptop, like the space grey colour. Snappy performance because of the SSD, boot up and shut down is very quick. It's a gift so I've only set it up and packed it away again so can't comment on battery life. Good service from Technoworld, would use them again.
