With an ample load capacity of up to eight kg, the HE8L493P Washing Machine is perfect for busy households, making it easy to fit more into one load, saving time and money.
Leaving only 53% of water after each wash, the 1400 rpm helps clothes dry quicker so you can have your family's favourite outfit clean and dry in no time.
Care that suits each load
With the HE8L493P you'll be able to tackle stubborn dirt and stains with any one of the 16 programmes and variable temperatures.
You'll have the perfect cycles for all your delicate garments and underwear that requires gentle care with the selection of special care programmes such as Ultra Delicates, Silk or Lingerie settings.
Perfect for school shirts, the useful Shirt programmes reduces the amount of creases when washing to limit the time you spend ironing them.
The Woolmark Platinum Care wash offers you low spin speeds to stop any friction between clothes to keep them in the best condition for as long as possible.
This A+++ washing machine also has an Eco cycle for those who are more environmentally conscious using only the necessary without wasting any heat or energy. When in Eco mode, the HE8L493P will use less than the standard 52.7 litres per cycle, making it extremely cost effective to run.
The machine offers a choice of 16 cycles, so there's a setting for every laundry day.
Make sure you also buy one of these for your Hotpoint spinner:

don't forget to add on the extra warranty needed to complement their parts warranty. Awful company to work with, poor quality machines. How a once major British brand which was a byword for quality could become such a cheap brand after been sold is beyond me :disappointed:

I'd NEVER buy Hotpoint again after their lackadaisical attitude to the tumble dryer fault fiasco...awful company who will not help you when things go wrong!

Just watching This Morning programme - disgraceful treatment of people with the tumble dryers!

They really shouldn't allow people to sell machines that are B rated for spin as A+++ machines.
This type of machine only achieves A+++ on the wash cycle as the spin is low powered.
Good luck drying that.

Also would never buy Hotpoint again after the appalling way they dealt with the recall issue on the tumble driers. They knew about the fire risk problem for ages before they acted and when they finally did the recall it took forever with people being told it was "OK to use the drier but to keep an eye on it" !

Going to stick up for Hotpoint here, have a washing machine and fridge freezer, both going strong at 12 years old, never had a fault with either. Would buy again, 100%.

But Hotpoint was probably made better 12 years ago.

All companies are great when you don't have any problems...you actually find out how great companies are when there is a problem and in Hotpoint's case they are truly ******* awful...they literally put your life at risk!

Just wanted to echo the above, we had our drier replaced with a washer/drier which we paid extra for, it packed up in 24h, now on the second one which has also packed up. Impossible to get hold of support dept. Steer clear.

Just about to chuck out my 3 year old Hotpoint washing machine as the bearings are gone. It was a 'top of the range' one so that didn't help it last either, so this low end one will be even worse i suspect. Spend £100 more and get a 5 year warranty Samsung which will be quieter on spin aswell.

Excellent price for a very well engineered machine. The problem with their condensing dryer was that people didn't follow the instructions and clean the fluff off the filter after every use (some never cleaned them). Any dryer would eventually catch fire under those circumstances.

human nature, how many people clean their dishwasher filter after every wash?
Not many I'd wager until the error code flashed up.
If this was such a fire risk then they should have built in a reset mechanism where the machine won't run until the filter is checked.
Sure you'd get people that would just whack it out, whack it in then continue but most would clean it out I expect.

Neither, just a professional engineer who has owned a few Hotpoint products, including a washer and also a condensing dryer, and been impressed with the quality of them for the price. But most get hung up in the meme, even if they've never owned one.
