Homefront: The Revolution is an open-world first person shooter where you must lead the Resistance movement in guerrilla warfare against a superior military force.
A living, breathing, open world responds to your actions - you and your Resistance Cell can inspire a rebellion on the streets and turn Occupation into Revolution, as oppressed civilians take up the fight.
But your enemy has the advantage - superior technology, firepower, heavy armour and air support. You must learn the art of guerrilla warfare – ambush, sabotage, infiltration, deception – and fight a running battle through the war-ravaged suburbs of Philadelphia.
And the single player campaign is just the start – in Co-Op you and your friends can form your own Resistance Cell and become renowned as Heroes of the Revolution.

With all respect, your replies were all inconsistent, now differing 6 months to 6 weeks after release. I firmly said at the beginning I've not played it myself. But that's until I receive my copy. That's the only way to find the truth I think.

I've finally ordered it yesterday (though I wish I'd waited till today to get the 10% Quidco on it too :disappointed: ). As I've tried to figure out the graphical downgrade was happened up until patch 1.08, the 1.10 has taken the graphics back up (maybe not as high as it was planned to be originally but the textures and shadows are somehow back). I'll comment in more details when I receive my copy!

I meant 6 weeks not months ^^ played it today at my dads house, he loves his shooters, but still I think it's nothing special, maybe a 4/10 only played for about an hour mind.

It's funny. I was looking into this game just yesterday lol! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-An5KmgLgg
It seems they've fixed a lot of bugs and it can now achieve a stab;e 30 FPS, though at the cost of a graphical downgrade.
The game itself looked a little mediocre, run of the mill open world game where you repeat actions in areas and move on to the next to do it all over again, which put me off a little.
Still, it's a pretty good price, might be worth a punt at this, though my backlog is already scarily big as it is...
Personally I'd wait until it drops below £10 but with the patch its not too bad, although instead of optimising, they've essentially removed some dynamic effects, lazy.

You're not necessarily correct. Click on that link and click on the YouTube video. You may know why I'm saying it.

I still haven't got the answer I was looking for. What patch version? The recent 1.10 patch apparently has fixed lots of things and the game runs perfectly now. Also it appears at the moment, the PC version is the only one having some major issues like uploading save data on Steam cloud etc other than that the console version are looking fine: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Homefront:_The_Revolution
Going to order it myself, it is the only way to find out the truth! I hate living based on myths.
P.S: If you have really played it 6 months after release, considering it was released on 20th of May then you either are coming from the future or you are not being completely honest? it is only 18th of the Novemeber today...

In my opinion its an ambitious, but flawed shooter...i enjoyed the first game on the 360 and was looking forward to this game, got into beta twice and it was terrible, i played it last about 6 months after release and it was still terrible. R6 is different kind of shooter sure, it was just a quick comparison, but other games like doom/Metro 1&2/wolfenstien/Killzone are all much better.

When did you play it last an on what patch version? Also Rainbow six siege is a shooter, no doubt but it's an online game and if you're comparing for the sake of "shooter" then division is far better than your example.

Seems lots of the issues have been patched, but I don't own it, so I can't talk about my experience.
ignore all the bad press about this game. I'm no gamer by any stretch but I have a PS4 binge every several months. This game is best I have played...ever. perhaps it needed all the updates but seriously I had a great time playing it. back to being a grown up for a while now, until another cracking game comes out!

No its terrible, they had betas and they were terrible too and they had a chance to change/fix things...didn't. cold from me as for the same price you can get better shooters like R6 siege

Picked it up on eBay for £10 the other day,
so as soon as it arrives I'll be able to let you know if it's any good. I enjoyed the first one, even if it was slow and stodgy.
