Looks like a good price with installation included and don't need to be part of British gas as with previous deals.

I'm the same, unsure to buy this or nest, maybe others can clarify which one is better.

Nest is an intelligent system that figures out how you use your heating and adapts accordingly. Hive has clever manual setings 2 allow you to customise your heating system. Personally Id go for nest.

Nest has no Apple HomeKit integration, in case that matters

Neither does hive....yet. Although they claim it is coming

One point to consider, nest stat needs to be plugged in, hive stat is battery operated so is portable.

Same. I think the cat would confuse it too

Tempted by this, however we have a two zone heating system which I think means we'd need the extra multizone device as well which is an additional £100 or so.
Anyone happen to know whether the installation included with this product would include installation of the multizone unit too? (Can't seem to find a definite answer on this online).

Doesn't include the multizone hive, would be extra but would include installation. (Engineer for BG)

Hive can't even switch my Hive light bulbs on half the time, I'm not trusting it with my heating!

So would this work with an existing oil central heating system?

A good price. My hive has been installed for about 3 months now and I think it's great. Nice functionality. I've installed the door sensors also. Still waiting for the cameras to come out, I've been told unofficially early 2017 but who knows. Can't comment on the nest either way.

It's going to need new hardware to support homekit unfortunately. Which means a new hub.
I think it's worth waiting to see what Amazon do as I got this for £180 with installation this time last year.
Also for anyone that's bothered, after having a new boiler installed since getting hive, I've found it doesn't support opentherm.
