How about "be gentle" that normally works

I purchased the 50" of this TV last week and I honestly have no complaints. Granted the Smart features are a tad on the slow side, but to be honest I use the Xbox One for features like that.
I'm not super tech minded when it comes to TVs, but the screen and quality are spot on for me. I'd be interested in hearing anybody's suggestions for a decent setup if they have any

Thanks @caverncity. I am not a tech geek but this looks like a really good price for a 55 inch 4K tv. Im not sure if these will go down further as we move towards Black Friday.. personally i wouldn't take a chance

Seriously mate, there's no complaints at all from me regarding the picture. I've not noticed any motion blur whilst gaming. My old (3D) LG was a nightmare for it, especially with FIFA, but so far so good with this one.
When I plugged it in last week I was alerted to a firmware update which added HDR (8 bit, I believe)

cheers for that

hey Buzz how was the HDR update? Did that make a massive difference?

To be honest mate, I've not used anything yet that utilises it.
I've not really done much with it. I'm discussing straight from the box usage. I must add that I did use the recently updated YouTube app (updated to support 4K) and it really did blow my mind. I currently have it running through a Yamaha RXV-671 which only supports 1080p, so when I get home tonight I'm going to run all the HDMI's direct to the TV from the sources and use ARC for the sound return, which I'm led to believe will give me a better viewing experience?

Where/How much? did u get an extended warranty?
BuzzDuraband
20 Nov 16#13
I paid £325 for the 50" from a store on the East coast. It was a brand new grade B, but it literally has no marks to the screen and/or bezel at all, it's mint.

20 Nov 161#14
Great price of course for you! I guess that price isn't worth an extended warranty?
BuzzDuraband
20 Nov 161#15
Well it came with the standard 12 months warranty. If anything happens to it after that, I won't be overly peeved due to the price

I have been watching this for a bit - Richer Sounds sell the same model with a 6 year warranty for £549.
My debate is whether to buy this now or hold out for them to drop to £499 with the longer warranty on black Friday.

How does this compare to the LG deal currently running from Costco? I appreciate that this is half the price but is the half as good? Am I better off spending more for the LG. Last time a bought a large panel TV was 8 years ago just lcd were becoming popular.

I only play FIFA these days and I'm very picky when it comes to image quality. My mate has a few year old Samsung (top of the range) and fifa looks so bad on his xbox one compare to my ps4 connected to a 7 year old Sony TV.

Register it in the Hisense site and you get an extra year of warranty.
The HDR is nice, check out the owners forum on AVForums, covers everything you would need to know.

Might as well go Argos for this. Use code TVS10 to drop it to £476.10 then get 10% QuidCo too. If it tracks £428.49 net.

I got this set last month in the warehouse deals and agree with Buzz that it is a fantastic bit of kit for the price. No motion blur with PS4, sky Q @ 10 bit looks great and the sound isn't bad either. I tried some suggested settings off of the avforums but tbh I'm happy with how it came out of the box!

For those interested in a slightly larger 4K Hisense TV but also with 3D (and a 6 year warranty), Richer Sound do the 58" version for £599. Hot for this size though :-)

Brilliant TV. Bought mine from Argos. Handy Netflix and YouTube buttons on the remote. The Netflix 4K is stunning!
Moens there is only one way to decisively is to see both properly set up at this price range, the average Joe Bloggs probably could not tell the difference unless there is a gaming difference.Financially this dealis the best £ to the buck ?

it has a game/pc mode which reduces lag however there's still about 25ms lag in that mode. Not great but not terrible either. I'd stay away from twitch shootrers with this.

Refurb on ebay and price is obviously more at around 899 or something. Just wondering how this compares really...or is there none?

Well from my understanding of a my research lately, 8bit TVs mean they are only capable producing 16.8 million shades of colours, where as 10bit produces over 1billion shades.
From what I believe the Samsung ks7000 is a full 10 bit tv, as opposed this is the 8bit. Although there isn't much content available yet that even uses this, Netflix and amazon prime are producing more lately.
I'm also waiting for the ks7000 to drop in price, but think I'll be waiting too long.

21 Nov 16#45
I'm not that interested in prime and netflix (got kodi). I noticed one on ebay (new w/out warranty) for 849...wish i'd went for it as they increased it to 989!!! I have to say, the wife walked in recently with a cheap projector - watching now in HD screen size about 80" diagonal ;D - and I must say i'm pleasantly surprised - not sure of the longevity of it though...

They only play at the highest they can, so selecting a 10 bit still means it'll only play as good as your tv allows, therefore 8bit
