Not a 10Bit panel at all it just means it can deal with a 10Bit signal nothing more for a true 10Bit panel it would be 4x the price this is a 8Bit.

just took the plunge on this as the Mrs gets 12.5 % discount on top. Should arrive next week, so will post a review once I've got it running. Thanks for the heads up Op
I've got the hisence 75m7900 paid around £2300 for it
It's also a 8 bit panel but allows me to switch to 10 bit when watching sky Q
I think all hisense tvs are 8 bit but can all receive a 10 bit singal:)
Also have the 65k720 which is also 8 bit
End of the day if it's 8 bit or 10 bit these sets are incredible for the money
Picture quality in HD and UHD are outstanding
Also gaming is quality
Heat

So that site is wrong every time it is convenient the reasons for the KS7000 error are known as you have pointed out, you know fine and well that you cannot get a 10 bit panel set for this price.JL will be citing information from the supplier size should not make any difference it's a M5500 and just for reference on JL the 65 is also being advertised as a 10 bit and for £900 there is not a snowball's chance in hell these are 10 bit paneled set's.

But this is not 65" and if you are getting your info from displayspecifications.com they can be wrong, such as the KS7000 being 8bit whereas that is USA KS7000, the UK is 10bit.
Unless you can cite a credible source for this size and model, its 10bit as JL post is it not?

And says again further down...
HDR support With its 10-bit panel, the 50M5500 can show over a billion individual colours to deepen your view and shows shades you’ve never seen in home entertainment before. The source content needs to be HDR for you to fully appreciate the picture, but here lies an element of future-proofing a new era of television.
