I've had handles from these guys before, they were the Victorian scroll bronze ones which I thought looked quite decent.
I installed them on all doors in the house and then found that they were so uncomfortable I took them all off again.
Many of the screws snapped aswell. They aren't really gold/brass color they're more yellow..

I went with some homebase ones in the end which were a million times better.
I won an auction for 13 sets of the ones in the link brand new in packaging on eBay for £5 + £20 p&p.

So to sum up maybe try before you buy because it didn't matter how cheap they were I wasn't going to get sore palms from using door handles lol!

just be aware... the cheapest ones don't have the best degree of rotation... ie. they don't pull the latch in fully (at least compared to my old ones). if you're not careful, you'll find they lock you into a room because they don't retract fully... you'll end up having to reseat the latch plate or drill out a little more of the inner plate which allows the handle to pull down further.

hope that makes sense... they're cheap for a reason!

Another vote for handleking from me. Looked at screwfix handles but a lot of the lever lengths were really small so best looking in store first to get a feel for them. Plus a guy who worked there said he had some himself that jam often which totally put me off.

Had a look at Handleking but couldn't find anything that wasn't a modern style, which I don't want. Ideally wanting a Victorian Beehive style

Have a look at Amazon. Found good sets (handles, hinges etc) on here...cheaper than screwfix.

Thought I'd got a couple of cheap ones last time. Got an email and text to confirm they were at the branch ready for collection... Nothing there when I went to collect because they had been out of stock allegedly.

Aldi now and again have proper quality stainless steel in different designs I done me whole place for about £24
Everyone that sees em comments and asks where I got them!

Shame the hole pattern for where the screws go in doesn't match what handles I have already otherwise I would have been all over these like a rash!

Can anyone recommend a decent handle and lock for white wooden doors? There's so many brands, I like the chome look, how many keys do you get with one handle? 1 key or 2?

Ordered 2 lots of different handles on rose from handleking and, seriously, the quality is superb at twice the price. Very substantial weight to them and very smooth action. The joiner who fitted my oak doors couldn't believe the price I paid and orders all his handles from there now. Agreed about the postage against click and collect but I guess it all depends on the value you put on your time. Plus fuel costs to take into account. Looks like handleking charge 3.50 for P&P for oirders under 40 quid. Don't forget the 10% discount, though.
