I just received mine, except it was a 780 in a 1070 box, with the Asus scribbled out with black felt tip....
Can't believe this gets past the amazon warehouse.

Yes, 30 days warranty with Amazon but still 12 months manufacturer's warranty

I never had issues returning anything to the warehouse long after the 30 days. I bought a projector and returned it 7 months after buying it as the 3d didn't work. Full refund without question.

I bought Zotac GTX 1080 Amp New for £336 from amazon uk market seller last month. Order shipped and for the whole week I was worried if I get it or wrong item showing up. When the parcel arrive, GTX 1080 inside, super happy.

20 Nov 16#26
Well. no code for me and I think it would need to be activated by tomorrow anyway. I wasn't expecting a code. To be honest, I'll just be happy if the thing works properly when it arrives.

Good offer, bought it, but then saw the MSI gaming x was in Warehouse deals with 20% off. I'd pay 7 quid to deal with Amazon UK if anything should go wrong, and the cards are basically the same.

great deal on that
gutted I didn't see it
but I got a Samsung 950 Pro 512GB NVMe SSD for 167 new when eBay had that 20% off code last March/April... so that will be my consolation. It was delivered from Amazon anyway with receipt so I get full warranty. Always floored how much the margins are on these things

29 Nov 16#50
I realised that I was paying Amazon's currency conversion rate (ordered in a rush via the mobile website when I first saw the deal). Since my order was still awaiting dispatch I changed my payment card to Halifax Clarity (no currency conversion fees), which lowered the cost from £315 to the equivalent of £300, and brought the estimated dispatch date forward from 5 Dec to 1 Dec. Win, win :o) I just hope that the card works/is the correct one when it arrives!

How do you get away, or even think that it is acceptable, fair or reasonable to complain when the item description said that it would lack original packaging and the item would have minor marks? You got what you paid for... I think that the thumbnail here tells us more about the personality type here.
Scottc123

Small ticks is clearly a bad translation of "scratches/scuffs/marks" from the original French. I said nothing about WD2, that is a separate issue; even based on your wording you said that you complained because of packaging and scratches and then went on to mention WD2. I just do not like this "entitled culture" that we seem to be inheriting from the US, where people buy stuff they don't want then complain/return it and generally take advantage of the situation. Not respectable, responsible or ethical behaviour in my book. I appreciate your picture change, hilarious. *Edit* even more hilarious is that this guy has now deleted his posts.

Just a thanks to the OP. Received mine yesterday, obviously box been opened but apart from that in perfect condition with drivers and manuals included, did not expect that! Cost me £311, proper bargain, cheers!

Best deal I have ever taken advantage on here. My card arrived a couple of days ago. Open box but otherwise almost perfect condition. I noticed a bit of coil whine when running 3D Mark's TimeSpy benchmark, but my Gigabyte Xtreme 970 used to do the same when pushed to the max. I've even managed to overclock it to squeeze an extra ~5% performance out of it. My French friend went on Amazon instant chat to ask about the advertised free game code and the definitive answer from Amazon.fr was that they would not issue a game code for "reconditioned" items as the person who returned the card would have been issued a code already, and it is one code per card. The final charge to my Halifax Clarity was £299.08, so certainly no complaining from me! Truly a deal!

As noted above, my card had a bit of coil whine when pushed to the max. However, I have just updated the GPU BIOS found that coil whine under heavy load has been dramatically reduced (now none in Firstrike, and only a little in Heaven benchmark). Coil whine was probably the reason why the original owner returned the card the first place, as might be the case for other cards purchased from Amazon warehouse, so thought I would flag this up here!
1. Download, install and run GPU-Z and under "Memory type", check if it says "GDDR5 (Samsung)" or " GDDR5 (Micron)".
2. Download the appropriate Samsung or Micron BIOS update from here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5916#bios
3. Close as many programs as you can and extract and run the BIOS updater that you just downloaded.
4. Wait patiently for the BIOS to update and when a box pops up prompts to restart, restart.
5. Done.
