I have submitted a pricematch request to john lewis. That is the only way to avoid topup and also get a proper 2 year warranty

Completely disagree with this the screen on my G4 is amazingly responsive for a budget phone.

Well I wouldn't have said that whatever you are using at the moment is much good, if keyboard accuracy is a measure...

i have had 3 different versions - i had the moto 4 for 2 weeks and the touch thing started to go weird like skipping on the web pages and loading stuff i didnt click on.
i googled it and there loads of stuff on motorola various models doing the same - they are billed as best for budget but it happened on every motorola i had

You say it happened on three different models but only give example of one.
I've had three different Moto G models and all were fine.
Does that mean I got extremely lucky or that you were extremely unlucky?

As the phone is unlocked, can another sim be used, like Three? Or do we need to use a Giffgaff sim?

Tempted, but reviews on Amazon suggest it runs like a dog. I had a play with the first gen Moto E and it ran pretty smoothly

I bought and set up two of these as gifts about three weeks ago and thought they were excellent value. No issues with the screens, nice stock experience, no bloatware. Not a huge amount of RAM, but didn't feel laggy. Not exactly a gaming machine but great for everyday smartphone use.
These aren't as easily unlocked as previous MOTO Handsets yet. This deal being unlocked is a massive plus point
As a GNEX user, this budget phone seemed a lot of phone for very little money. Just bought another. Thanks OP.
