Not a great month if you have PS Plus as well as Gold, because all of these have previously been Plus titles. Well, Sleeping Dogs wasn't the definitive edition, but that's about the only silver lining.

For those who only have Gold, though, this is a great selection. Burnout Paradise is fantastic, Sleeping Dogs is underrated, and Outland is a great indie title.

If you can't afford an xbox one, if you have an xbox gold membership already, go on xbox.com and claim the game anyway. Then when you do get an xbox one, it'll be ready to download. I did the same, as soon as they started doing games with gold, i claimed every game, 6 months later had 12 games waiting for me to play

22 Nov 16 #14
Outlast is good but have it on PC already. Sleeping dogs... meh... I have it on PC and never played it. Looks dated now too. Burnout is old but fun.

I got gold a few months back as I saw Assasins Creed black flag and also Tomb Raider had been given away... since I joined up tho I can't say I've seen any games of that quality

22 Nov 16 #15
Didn't realise it was that time of the month already! Played Sleeping Dogs to 1000g on the 360 and will be happy to play the remaster of that for free. Played Burnout Paradise to death a loooong time ago, so unless the DLC is included I probably won't bother replaying it, I imagine it looks a bit poor now against the likes of Forza Horizon 2 and 3. I don't think I've even heard of either Outlast or Outland so will give them ago, so overall a decent month.

Im new to this xbox lark. If you own an xbox one, you get all 4 games for free?
hotdealsuk1973 to SteQ
22 Nov 16 #22
yes all 4 games are free each month for xbox one owners
Treas0n to SteQ
22 Nov 16 2 #23
If you have Xbox Live Gold....yep.

You will need to manually add them when they're available though, two games are available for the first half of the month, and the next two games are available for the second half of the month (unlike on PS+ where they're available all at once) - if you do not manually add them, then you will lose your opportunity once the dates expire.

I new it once again I bought sleeping dogs last xmas and now its free yet I haven't even played it . When I saw it digital on sale I was like damn why didn't hold out and now its free . But I have learned the same as xbox 360 games . If you see it a game cheap on disc hold out if u then see it xbox store cheap hold out then it will prob be free with gold . same with the metro bought on 360 after years then saw it on sale even for less xbox store and then it ws free with gold . And I still haven't played it really

I don't think you keep them anymore at gold expiration. I think that was when it first started on 360. Once the xbox one was added it became the same as ps+
Treas0n
22 Nov 16 1 #25
Correct: info from Microsoft...

What happens to my Games with Gold games if I cancel my Xbox Live Gold subscription?

On Xbox One, you’ll no longer be able to access your Games with Gold titles if you cancel your subscription. However, if you decide to renew your subscription at any time, you’ll be able to access and play your previously redeemed Games with Gold titles again.

On Xbox 360, any Games with Gold titles that you redeem as an Xbox Live Gold member are yours to keep, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.

I've amended my original post, thanks.

What i do now, if there is a game i want, thats already been out for more than 2yrs, I'll play something else, as chances are it could be completely free one day. Esp if past games from the same game dev have done free games. Like I have a feeling Dead rising 3 will be free at some point, same with Assassins Creed Unity or Syndicate. If say Tomb Raider was free on xbox360, its bound to be free at some point for xbox one if theres a remaster and it happened so i knew Sleeping dogs would.

Splutterbug
22 Nov 16 1 #49
Assassin's Creed Unity is about £2 on CDKeys, so I'd go for that now, but I see where you are coming from, I think it all depends on the price, a major reason for me getting Gold was also the discounts, so if a game is cheap enough like Dishonored at the moment, I'll go for it even though there's a chance it may appear as a free game in the future.
shasnir
22 Nov 16 2 #50
The big Difference is Xbox One is Xbox 360 backward compatible the PS4 is Not PS3 backward compatible, so unless they were all on PS+ for PS4 you can't play all those games without both a PS3 and a PS4.

I was only giving an example with the Creed games but its not a game im in any rush to play. i havent bought a game on day one since GTA5 and we still get free content for that and is definitely worth every penny. As for others like Fallout 4, Batman Arkham knight, Battlefront, i hate DLC, i rather it all be included as one complete package so wait for complete editions. I still havent finished AC3 and still got black flag for free to play as well

I don't bum around all day and I spend maybe 8 hours per week playing games...
However, at £40 for a year of Xbox Live Gold (another £20 for EA Access) then it's still a no brainer.
Mind you, I share the Gold with my 10 yr old son

While we're on a GwG thread, I'm loving Murdered: Soul Suspect which was the latest offering.
Couldn't get to sleep for 2 hours after playing it last night though, as I was running it all through my brain and couldn't switch off!

amazing month but I've had them all before. :disappointed:

Not bad for a £1!!
I bought a 1 month subscription for a quid (auto renew cancelled immediately) and will have Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Outland, Burnout Paradise, Sleeping Dogs, Outlast and a month of COD:Ghosts multiplay by the time it runs out!
Well worth 100 shiny new pence.

Get to bed. Play Outlast and go to sleep!

You'll only have Outlast & Sleeping Dogs for a month though, as they're the XBOne versions, and Outlast isn't available until 16th December.
You only get to keep the 360 games when your Gold subscription ends.

The £1 for 1 month Xbox Live Gold deal's restrictions are:
"Offer available only to non-Xbox Live Gold members (not valid for current Xbox Live Gold members) on Xbox One and Xbox.com in all Xbox Live countries except Korea and Brazil. Offer available only to non-Xbox Live Gold members(not valid for current Xbox Live Gold members) on Xbox 360 in US, CA, UK, FR, DE, IT, ES, NL, SE, AU, MX, CL, and CO"

Good suggestion on "manage game". Had a look this morning and all the bits were there for me to install.
Strangely it also included Big Surf Island, which I've never had before.

I don't really understand what you mean? I've got a whole library of Games I've grabbed with Gold. I can download and play them whenever I want on a 360 with OR without a Gold subscription. That's the reason I don't have a One - I've got about ten years worth of 360 games to finish first!

Also, I grab the XBox One games and by the time I have a One I'll have a massive free library there too!

I tried using that 1 month free trial that pops up on the dashboard for these games (as I have done previously), but it turns out I've used up the max amount of free trials. Who'd have thought?

Still annoying how you have to input card details to download free games...for me it's having time to play them all...I hadn't really heard of Outlast but played first few minutes and seems like a game I would enjoy.

anyone had a problem with burnout paradise on xbox one? It shows up as one of the available titles in Gold but there is no option to install it, only "see price"

I have installed some other titles from the free ones available with Gold, I cannot work out why it won't let me choose Burnout Paradise.

I lasted 5 minutes on Outlast. Not for the weak hearted!
