Went into the Christmas gifts aisle and saw all the Finding Dory stuff but no nail varnish kit; asked a Staff member and she said there's lots on the clearance aisle, all labelled 'sale'. Took to the self service till and the item was "unrecognised", told the staff member and he asked me how much it was, I told him it was 2p each - surprise surprise, guess who didn't believe me? Told me to go to customer services, there was a massive queue, went home empty handed.

good shout, if they have been it's only 4p down the drain.

​it's not a product recall the till would refuse to sell the item. 2p means it's a deleted product and should be destroyed even though their is nothing wrong with it. The women has lied to the customer as staff aren't meant to sell them at 2p hence why she said it was recalled to try and get the item off the customer.

​they haven't be recalled if they had the system would refuse the sale. Any item that scans through at 2p means it is a deleted product line and should be removed from the shelve for disposal. The item is perfectly fine the staff however are not meant to sell 2p items that's why they have lied and said it's been recalled. I once found Ben and Jerry's ice cream in my store for 2p however manager refused to sell it to me and around 50 tubs were destroyed, the whole thing is silly. If you want to get these 2p deals you need to use the self service and pay as quick as possible before anyone notices.

Asked for a price check in Cheltenham. Woman scanned and and said "oh, these have been recalled" and tried to take them off me. Went to self scanner. Scanned at 2p and got a few for my nieces for Christmas
