The award-winning Far Cry franchise that stormed the tropics and the Himalayas now enters the original fight for humanity’s survival with its innovative open-world sandbox gameplay, bringing together massive beasts, breathtaking environments, and unpredictable savage encounters.
Welcome to the Stone Age, a time of extreme danger and limitless adventure, when giant mammoths and sabretooth tigers ruled the Earth and humanity is at the bottom of the food chain. As the last survivor of your hunting group, you will learn to craft a deadly arsenal, fend off fierce predators, and outsmart enemy tribes to conquer the land of Oros and become the Apex Predator.
GAME FEATURES
• STONE AGE BY FAR CRY: The rich setting of the Stone Age provides a new setting filled with unpredictable mayhem, dangerous threats, and incredible stories that Far Cry is known for.
• RISE ABOVE EXTINCTION: Play as Takkar, a seasoned hunter and the last surviving member of your group. There is one goal: survive in a world where you are the prey.
• FIERCE WILDLIFE AND SAVAGE AND MAJESTIC WORLD: This is earth before man laid claim to it, where deadly sabretooth tigers ruled the world, giant woolly mammoths were kings, and herds of massive Elk stormed through the plains. Discover these and many more daunting creatures in the savage open-world of Oros within the towering redwood forests, harsh taiga, cold glacial mountains and humid swamps.
• NEW !! SURVIVOR MODE & PERMADEATH: Rise to the ultimate challenge in Survivor Mode for a more realistic experience with fewer resources and a stamina gauge. If you still feel the stakes aren’t high enough then turn on full Permadeath, giving you just one chance to survive. You die and it's game over.

But as most people don't go into the deals and just look at what's posted they would miss it, so heat for me and this is the cheapest I've seen it and that includes physical copy, so once again this site that is supposed to save money makes me spend more, and another game to add to the pile of shame

For those who have played far cry 3 and/or 4, how does this game fare?
Have they just churned another one out without much innovation/thought or is it worth the £12 asking price?
I loved 3, enjoyed 4 but not as much so I just worry that this one will be another downgrade....
Any thoughts?

I never finished 3 or 4 but enjoyed them, but had difficulty getting into Blood Dragon. I did get into and finish Primal though.
It feels familiar but the setting is unlike most games out there, which kept me engaged. I'd recommend it, feels like Far Cry but at the same time feels different due to the setting.

Another Question. Free games need to be downloaded in order to be kept? I had Borderlands 2 in 'My Games" which I didn't download and now it's disappeared.

Couldn't agree more! When I first read about it, before playing the actual game, I thought "wow this is cool". But then, having to read the subtitles keeps your eyes away from the action on the screen and this kind of ruins this whole primal language thing. Well at least they tried to innovate, and that's the main thing I guess.

Yeah nice idea for people who are into it or want to play through a couple times but I hate subtitles I'm trying to enjoy the visuals but just end up reading the subs

Typical just bought a hard copy for 20. Only thing anoying me is this voice thing in what I guess is cave man language it's getting really anoying wish they had an option to turn it into English rather than subtitles.

In fact each tribe in the game has a distinctive, coherent language. They put a lot efforts into this! More info here: wikipedia
