How scalable are the Doom and Fallout 4 games? I have pretty weak hardware (GTX 670 etc).

Fallout should probably run fine on medium settings but not too sure about doom, Doom minimum requirement is a GTX 670 though.

I have a 670 GTX. additional specs of interest: i7 (3xxxK - the standard i7 for that range, can't remember the exact code), 16 gb ram. Both games run fine on medium and look great (playing at 1080p res). Definitely worth getting both. Also should point out the graphical differences in doom:
"At Ultra + Nightmare quality, Doom looks quite good; at Low quality, it still looks pretty good. "
Doom and Fallout 4 for these prices is awesome. I was going to pick up doom on xbox one but I have a good PC so hoping it will look the nuts on there in 3d vision

I paid full price for fallout 4 when it came out but got like 100 hours out of it, If I did not have it I would buy it for this price.
I have not played doom yet so I might think about buying that since I have heard good reviews about it.

Doom so tempting with added VR support next year..same goes for fall out 4 but already have that.

DOOM is worth every single penny. Go forth and enjoy.
Also it is very easy to scale if you are willing to spend 10 minutes looking on the interwebs for config tweeks.

I think Doom might present a few challenges... According to Neogaf (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1218009), I need an AMD FX8320, and I only have an FX8120. The difference isn't much in terms of MHz, but that could mean that I might struggle when it comes to having a semi-optimum experience.
Definitely going to upgrade my PC this time next year...

can't argue with that price for doom.

I found that Doom ran like a bag of s##t on a pair of GTX560Ti, but I upgraded to a single GTX1060 and it was beautiful and smooth. I don't hink it is all about the grunt but more that the technology of the cards needs to be more current.

You would have been video memory limited on the 560ti sli as the memory doesn't stack. Also it launched without any sli support at all I believe. Not sure if this was fixed.
Doom is incredibly well optimised but a gtx 670 is the minimum. If you set it to low and use resolution scaling it should be very playable but it will look less than stellar. Also try the Vulkan api I found it gave me more consistent frame rates on a gtx 970 despite it supposedly being worse for nvidia cards.
Amazing price for Doom. single player game of the year for me.

Given my less than stellar setup, I think it's probably wiser to get the game on PS4.

23 Nov 16#22
Honestly I would have thought a 670 would outclass a PS4 but I don't know for certain. Joncyloh has posted above with details. I play on medium myself as I prefer the higher frame rate. If you are comfortable using a mouse and keyboard that is absolutely the best way to play this game.

Those specs are from before the Vulkan port, aren't they?
Anyway, either way your CPU should be fine:
That's taken from a Doom CPU discussion over on the AT forums: https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/doom-vulkan-cpu-performance.2480056/
Seems that if paired with an 1080, anything from an i5-2500k (at stock) is fine. And while the FX8150 only provides 66% (min FSP), the FX8350 @ 4GHz (scoring around 80% of the max) is basically the same (caches etc.) just needs a bit of a mild overclock.

True but I have too many games to justify paying much more than that for this though! I only want Doom for single player (so around 15 hours max I presume). Currently happy with alternating between Overwatch and Titanfall 2 which takes up a large majority of my time gaming for multiplayer and Witcher 3 for single player.

Yes and limited to fps of between 20 - 30 FPS hmmmmm

Doom, for me is truly epic and worth picking up if you don't have it. Insanely fun single player campaign, but the real surprise is just how good the multiplayer aspect is. It's a bit of Quake, Halo and Unreal Tournament rolled into one. Fast paced pick up and play frag fest. If getting sniped by someone you can't see on the other side of the map, constantly pounded by tanks, airstrikes or trains, or even drones or nukes isn't your thing then you need to give this a go. It's a fast and furious frag fest that can appeal to all types of skill. Brilliant game

The multiplayer could hvae been great but the loadouts and weapon grind ruined it for many. Hopefully it's a learning experience for quake champions. If you enjoyed it you may like the new unreal tournament it's still in alpha but free. https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/

Hah, didn't read this bit. I'll be getting Doom. Is this the cheapest GTA V has been or can i get it for less elsewhere?
Then again I played the original Doom back in 1993 on a PC so it is the games spiritual home
