Showing as no stock at all stores near me, but they had a stack of them as you walk into the Wellingborough store.

Last time I looked, it was about 4 times the cost of heating by gas (although that was quite a few years ago).
Penny wise pound foolish.

No, an oil-filled radiator can't possibly be better, because you get the same amount of heat per penny as this, but it is less responsive. Both have a thermostat so will switch off at a set temperature, but the oil-filled radiator will give out much more unwanted heat afterwards, and take longer to start giving out wanted heat when the thermostat closes again.

I guess these are not the cheapest to run?

You keep guessing...
They'll cost exactly the same as any other 2000w electrical heater.

You'd be better off with an oil radiator that has a thermostat, as soon as this one turns off the heat is almost instantly lost - good deal nevertheless.

2000W * 10p per kWh = 20p an hour. If you ran it 8 hours a day it would be £1.60 a day and if you did it 8 hours a day for a whole month you'd be looking at £48.
I use one in my conservatory, but I also use a plugin thermostat that shuts it off when it reaches the desired temp.
I also have far infrared heaters that will heat a 25 square meter room with 700W of power and I like it better... but my IR heater was £150... these can be bought for around £10.

That is a fair point, it depends on the use case - for winter, with the radiators on over a long period of time an oil would be better, however convections are good for quick heat like before work

Not the case as the oil ones take much longer to heat so the heat lost when turning off is compensated but a rapid element heating time

Give your store a call and ask when they are getting them in. They are most likely already there but might not be on the shop floor yet.

There is stock in a few branches near me but my local is showing as no stock at the moment. They will be rolling this out over the weekend for most stores.
