The V6 Top dog is a small and compact powerful bagless handheld vacuum cleaner that features a digital v6 motor which will create one of the most powerful handheld vacuums around.
The motor has been designed to be small enough to fit into a handheld vacuum and won't lose any power, making it perfect for any household. Also being lightweight it makes it easy to carry around with you.
The V6 top dog uses patented cyclone technology which will give the vacuum an increased airflow, this giving you a better suction and the ability for dust particles that may easily get missed.
Emptying the 0.4 litre dustbin is quick and simple all at just a push of a button. It can be used on all floor types and can remove dirt and dust from carpets, wood floors, laminate, tiles and stone floors all with a minimum amount of fuss.
In the box, you get a mini motorised tool for upholstery, a combination tool and a rigid crevice tool for corners. There is also a stubborn dirt brush for those times when you need the stiff bristles for removing mud and dried in dirt.
And John Lewis too, 2 years guarantee also included as well.

I have one already and love it, very light weight and ideal for me to hoover up myself as I'm disabled.
Daughter wants one for Christmas so looking for best deal.
If you thinking about it go get it you won't look back, had a upright dyson and many a time when doing the stairs it would loose balance and fall down stairs with me attached, as it was weighty.

Just picked mine up too and we tested the V6 Animal wand and Motorised Cleaner Head with a V6 Trigger (the display Top Dog had no charge); the motorised head powered up just fine and the fittings were all correct. Can't comment on the longevity of using the wand/motorised head with a lower powered device like the Top Dog but yes it works.
Fits docking station too.

I don't think this comes with the long pole or larger motorised head. I bought a v6 cordless (with the longer pole etc) on dyson outlet on ebay recently. £144. I had bought myself the absolute but decided to buy someone the regular v6. They're refurbs, but very new looking! I think the 20% off deal has ended, but might come up again. I paid £214 for the V6 absolute, that was 'full price' on there for the refurb in late August. The price had gone up then the 20% sale so it could be worth keeping an eye on the dyson ebay outlet just to see.

Not the best review on Amazon: V6 Top Dog
All the V6 handhelds are the same in terms of power etc, the difference lies in the tools they come with and this one is well equipped in that regard.

1 review out of how many sold? Remember more people are likely to review something they dislike, rather than something they like. I've had the DC 30 since it was launched and never had a problem with it. This is more powerful than the one I have, so if you think of it as a handheld vacuum for the occasional spills. Rather than a replacement for the big bulky vacuum you already have, then it will does as it says.

Will that definitely fit? Reviews of this model on the Dyson website say people's existing wands aren't working/fitting with this model.
tomtomato
13 Nov 16#54
The wand will fit any Dyson model that can support motorised attachments. However, the motorised brush at the end of the wand (which you would need to buy too) may not work/rotate at all, as Dyson has prevented wands and motorised attachment to be added to some models.
-BA-
14 Nov 161#55
This isn't strictly true; I have seen some wands that don't fit as their design around the electrical connector is different. As I said in my previous post, however, I tried a V6 Animal wand on a V6 trigger, in store, and the V6 Animal motorised head span.
I have a wand bought off eBay for my DC43H which works perfectly on that one but the connector on the Top Dog rotary head is different. Be aware that not everything is interchangeable.

... then buy a V6 Animal and try to put the V6 absolute direct drive motorised head on it. Same connector, same electrical plugs... I believe Dyson have artificially prevented some accessories to work on some models (to stop people from buying cheap models, and then just upgrading the accessories).

I assume the core parts of the V6 trigger is more or less the same as my 2.5 years old DC59, costly a £309.99 but i'v to say it did its job pretty well, battery lasts and it still sucks. I'd lived in a two bed flat for 2 years and recetly moved into a 3 storey house, DC59 was my only Vacuum Cleaner until recently bought a Dyson Ball DC50 which I think it's a big piece of rubbish and a waste of £160, I only used it twice and about to put it on eBay, I guess i have to lie in the listing description just like dyson does to get some1 to buy it.
For £129 with a small motor head (very useful), I decided to opt for a second DC59/V6 to put it on the top floor. I has thought about V8 but 3 x V6 and each for a floor costs less than a V8.
btw, no1 complains about how tricky and how confused dyson names their product ? I would like throw an egg on Dyson's face for this.

17 Nov 16#68
Yes you can actually. I just bought this V6 TopDog and ordered a Dyson extension rod from Amazon for £21. The V6 is basically a rebranded DC58/59, so the rod for DC58/59 works fine with V6.

The problem I've had in the past using a full dyson ball is that the hose pulls be back or the hoover into the car or its just a bit of a struggle. I ordered one of these V6's and its actually really good with the stiff brush attachment and the roller bar.
It might be because my car dosen't get very dirty but I'm very satisfied and managed to hoover (small car) without running out of power.
