Surprised this hasn't come up already - sorry if I missed it.
I've been on the lookout for a Dyson for a while and this is certainly the cheapest for a new one - including 2 year guarantee from manufacturer. Normal price is £170 but widely available around £129 recently.
Also 3% TCB (not sure about Quidco).
Same price at Tesco.

I think you are being a bit harsh. There is supposed to be a price in the title and without this if an accessibility user accesses the site on text-only then only titles can be seen... and hence no price unless it is in the title.
It was a fair point I think.

True as a brand, but hoover (verb) means to hoover something up (ie suck something up with a vacuum cleaner, you know, like what most Dyson's do?
Well, not the Dyson hairdryer, although it does suck at the price!
And I'm pretty sure the Dyson Csys and Cu-Beam will en'light'en you. :stuck_out_tongue:

As for the deal, nah. It's not even half price. I know it's the best price so far, but Dyson can do better than that, but they don't want to.
And no, I'm not anti-Dyson, we like them (except for the noise) we have 2 Dyson's in the house plus a small vac I use for the cars.
I'm waiting for the New Year Sales, I think they will be good this year.

Hi,
We have the v6 animal and just to give an idea, we have wood flooring all down stairs and the Dyson is great, but on the carpets (and longer pile rugs) up stairs it can sometimes struggle unless you put it on Boost.
The charge is fine for doing to whole downstairs and along skirting etc, as soon as you put on Boost it about halves the duration to about 8min or so and it can be a bit annoying when it just dies (no real warning) because it takes a while to charge enough to use again.
It's a good, compact, vacuum though so would recommend it.

But at £230 that's not really in the same category of "hot deal", is it? There's clearly a lot of folk here who would bite your arm off for one of these at £50.
I'm sure your parallels are relevant but last time I checked, the site want flooded with top of the range, brand new products priced for everyday folk.

There was a similar deal on here a year or so ago. I got a spare cheaper non Dyson battery off of eBay for it so I have about 40 mins use in total. You remove one screw to replace the battery or can leave screw out and fit a plug in the charger socket to hold it in place. I found some tools from other Dyson's fit it e.g. straight piece with non motorised brush on end. It worked and picked up bits from carpet.

According to amazon, this is THE cheapest the vacuum has been, and will be for a while.
However a large, very large percentage of people said that this model has a significant problem with it's battery, and having to hold the on button constantly can be hand draining.
It is in essence, a punt. And not a bad shout if you're in the market for a vacuum.
