Ok, bought one for my son. Tested it on wifi and it seems to have a good receiver. I dont have fibre and it streamed 720p movies no problem. It also has a working Modbro on it so sport is available...tho picture quality can be dodgy. My son set it up with ethernet and works great.
Now...It seems to have jumped to £45, reduced from £69.95. A strange reduction as it was £39.99 originaly ?

Got this deal... Both the boxed remote and air noise are awful. Need a touch pad for easier navigating
I'd say no. Only 1gb, 8gb, S905 and no free air mouse.

For those of you wondering about these builds personally I would say avoid them all because ultimately they are not that good and will slow down your box with all the add ons at every launch.
Just look out for good add ons and install them based on what it is you like to watch.

I will be new to an Android box. I get the benefit of ethernet but is that available as standard on cheaper boxes. To be honest I have a top end ASUS RT-AC87U router so I am thinking I should be fine with wifi.

bsplayer - you have found the variable playback icon I presume (play video and get the playback options on screen and its the bottom one off the three icons on the far right of the screen). Not the most intuitive piece of software

you can just use a good quality high speed microsd card. on android 6 box, when you insert card you have option to use it as external storage or use as internal flash.

Is there a full spec available anywhere? In particular, does this support gigabit ethernet? Essential IMHO if you're trying for 4K video.
paradigm to Voyageur
15 Nov 161#37
Most 4k video hits around 60-70Mbps. The Ultra HD blu-ray spec maxes out at 100Mbps but that's just at peaks and not constant. As you can imagine most 4k online streams are much lower in the 15Mbps region.
So I'd say gigabit would be nice but certainly not essential on the box itself.

15 Nov 16#36
Yeah I noticed that but wondered if it was capable of running Apps off the SD card although I gather Marshmallow 6.0 allows this
Reason I mention is that some games for example Racing games run great on some of these boxes, but some take up towards 1GB+ of memory and the storage will soon get took up and maybe slow the box down (just guessing like)
It obviously helps with having 16GB storage on this box though

Thanks but the hunt continues, Dice player does indeed allow variable playback with audio. But it will not play 265 MKV files (something to do with compressed header) bsplayer on the other hand will play 265 MKV files but I can’t change the play back speed.

my friend pay every year around £30 subscription and get all channels at 30 quid.. does it work on same way ? please sorry to ask but never used these things. I have got samsung latest smart tv . so what is the advantage of these boxes on smart tvs ?

Suspicious reviews on Amazon, one clearly states received for free/cheap in exchange for a review, glad they called that out. The rest read as a bit iffy to me.

Most of the 5* reviews on Amazon for these Android Boxes are from those who have been given one to test in return for leaving a review as you say. Best bet is to check the review videos on youtube as these appear to be honest
Not a bad box though with the specs. Can you use a micro sd as expanded storage?
I am waiting for the Beelink Mini MXIII II or a GT1 Android Box to drop in price to around £40. As well as good reviews, you can use a external micro sd to run apps off them

I don't think so, it's 5v 2a, not entirely sure but I thought a standard USB on a TV or laptop is 0.5a but this may be totally wrong.
Do any of these android boxes allow playback of local media at 1.5 or 2 times speed, where you can still hear the sound?
Rich44 to Geemac
15 Nov 161#17
I would imagine there's an app for that somewhere, it's a software function rather than OS

Voted hot but it's been this price since it appeared on Amazon. Having said that, it's only been on there since 11th Nov. I don't know if the 'free air mouse/thouchpad' promotion has existed since then.
