Sorry (not sorry) another pretty decent price on DOOM at the mo. Use code and log in as usual to get it at £10.68. Mystery game included as you'd probably expect at the moment.
Brief info
Developed by id software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. Expand your gameplay experience using DOOM SnapMap game editor to easily create, play, and share your content with the world.
Best single player FPS in years, play it on nightmare mode!

Great game, multiplayer servers are empty though which is a shame, single player will keep you entertained for ages

Anyone know if the full game will run from start to finish on a 1GB card?
I got the demo to run acceptably on my 1GB 5870, but expect the latter levels will be more graphically demanding; perhaps even fail outright as the official min. requirements are 2GB.
Less memory on the card just means more swapping in and out from RAM (which shouldn't be too slow over the PCI bus).

Loved this game, it was great fun and like playing an classic shooter, best price I have seen so far.
Think it will be some random indie title, sometimes they are suprisingly good.

i wonder if it will play (on low settings) on my new 7th gen quad, A12-9700P, 8/12gb ram with only 'shared' R7 (i believe bristol ridge) graphics??
hmm... to be, or not to be!

The Doom Demo on Steam should tell you how well it would work (From the Doom page->Download Demo), it takes 8GB of drive space (approx). The risk in buying is whether later levels work well enough on a low-end card. As you are on AMD, enabling Vulkan may (or may not) help make it playable too (from Settings->Advanced->Graphics API).

One person took the risk on their 1.5GB card and was happy (see comments #51 and #55 on the thread):

This person apparently completed it on a 1GB card:
