Exactly. What saddo would actually put these on an animal that naturally walks on its given paws. We humans have evolved into soft footed wimps. Dogs, and other animals have not, and are better left to walk on their natural foot pads. I await to be shot down by the animal owning fannies who keep such animals for their own pleasure at the expense of the poor animal.

If it steps in sh.it in the park, you'll be scraping dog sh.it from the tread of a dog's welly boot. What a life

Or sometimes, y'know, they just get so wet and muddy that they start to stink and you have to go through the ordeal of giving them a bath every single time you take them out
Well **** don't. Leave them alone outside where they are happy. Are you really so stupid?

What's your problem? Some of us enjoy making our pets look absolutely ridiculous!

......Cesar Milan (dog whisperer) walking dogs in winter roadsalt is dangerous, as dogs can then lick their feet....

Why so angry? There are a lot of hazards for the city-dwelling dog. Glass, antifreeze, extremely hot/cold temperatures (pavements can get scalding/freezing in the depths of summer/winter, to the point where the RSPCA recommends keeping your dog in). Or sometimes, y'know, they just get so wet and muddy that they start to stink and you have to go through the ordeal of giving them a bath every single time you take them out. If my dog had the option of going out in these or not going out at all (because of the aforementioned dangers and inconveniences), I know what he'd pick. Maybe you should put down your copy of the Daily Mail and stop being so outraged about perfectly reasonable things that don't affect you at all.

It's not just dying though that's the issue, around our area last year, some **** poured antifreeze in the local park in various places. Loads of local dogs were having seizures etc and it wasn't up until the vets ran tests on them that they found the reason why.

I know these are a joke but many police forces round the world issue protective safety boots to their dogs because they often have to go in areas with broken glass (the German police do this big time). Also many working dogs have protective boots where they will be pushing through areas with lots of thorns (particularly in the US). Lastly, if your dog has even a small cut on its paw and you take it walking on an area treated with salt you are a callous brute!

I actually thought that this was a wind up but click on the link and they are real.... The world has gone mad lol.

Actually grit and salt used on roads is mixed with antifreeze which is toxic to dogs. In rare cases it can cause death when ingested.

I've only ever heard of animals dying from anti-freeze when evil b.stards have deliberately given it to them to drink (apparently Cat's like the taste), but I'll take your word for it. I still think it would be very uncomfortable for a dog to walk in these.

I have to confess to buying these for my Labrador BUT ONLY coz she had a splint on one paw which I had to keep dry and putting one of these 'wellies' on it worked well!! I would be too embarrassed to take her out wearing all 4 of them under normal circumstances!
