Amazon warehouse (damaged box, used with potential scratches) had it at £929, with 20% off for students plus I had a £100 voucher = £643 - the next day when I went to purchase it was gone and the price was hiked to £1022 all week including at this moment. This is a far better option, just got it for £699 with my voucher brand new! As the person above said, I was also looking at the Mavic, but expected shipping dates changed to January - and I'm travelling to Malaysia and South Africa in december, so I couldn't wait till January!

amazing deal. If the DJI Mavic hadn't been announced I'd be all over it. As it is I'm wating on the 2-3 month delayed Mavic to be delivered.

Yup, awesome deal. Even in light of the Mavic releasing (slowly), I'd still recommend the Phantom as this'll save you some cash for accessories, e.g. Batteries.

my mate got his stuck in a tree :confused: after 3 days and some true British ingenuity we manged to get it back. ......it fell well over 100ft to the ground and survived

They should not be flown over areas with large congregations of people, e.g. weddings.

​Who said anything about it being flown "over" anyone? A smart videographer/drone operator knows how to get good shots away from people.

They seem to be used all the time now for promos etc, the results are amazing, I just think its a bit of an expensive "toy" which will soon become boring after a few goes, especially with the short battery.... although I would then "inherit" it so not all bad!! :smiley:

​it was bloody high up so we used a catapult with a fishing weight and fishing line to fire up over the tree.....this took a lot of try due to it being a rather full bodied tree.......once we had the right branch we pulled a kite line over using the fishing line then used the kite line to pull over a proper climbing rope then shook the tree like **** until it fell
