I bought the same ses type for our room. When I turn them off. One bulb stays lit. I assume I need a led dimmer, currently have a standard dimmer. Can you recommend which led dimmer to get. Would like a varilight brand. Cheers

Tried the led candle bulbs from the pound shop in my touch lamps, same brightness of light produced throughout each setting just with strobe light flickering. Will have to try the dimmable screwfix ones?!

Dimmable ones are more likely to work in touch lamps. Mine have (Screwfix ones), but only one stage of brightness as it doesn't have 3 like most touch lamps do.

Just got mine today (ses dimmable ones) and they great in my ceiling fitting. Will keep an eye on them over the next few weeks to make sure all ok. They give a very nice warm colour and work with my LED dimmers. At a guess, you may be using normal dimmers, not LED ones?

I agree its a good deal and not all the reviews are bad so they maybe fine. I can't believe how led bulbs have come down in price. Even with the weak pound they are a quarter of the price they were 3 years ago.

what im saying some places dont offer guarrentee where for 1.69 you cant go wrong

Granted the 2 year guarantee ensures you will get replacements but who needs the hassle of replacing bulbs every 6 months.

The reviews on these are not great. They do not dim very well and apparently they stop working in a short time. I was put off by the reviews so ordered the phillips ones for £7.99 each.

all connected to 1 dimmer. I do notice that when turning on they start around medium brightness so have to go down slowly for low light so its not perfect like I initially thought. Will upgrade to a LED dimmer if it becomes a pain but they only go on and off once per day and we leave them on one brightness so not much of an inconvenience. I cant imagine its a fire hazard
I assume they will use the full 5.9W per bulb regardless of the light output setting.....?

are they all connected on 1 switch or 2 ?? and do they all work ok without any flickering when you go from low to high and viceversa?

So do you think the flicker is caused by the dimmer? Could be I guess, i'll try my bulbs in a regular lamp and see if the effect disappears.

I just bought 8 and fitted them in my front room on a 15 year old dimmer switch. Work perfectly.

These are a great price but this style doesn't always work well in some chandeliers because of the very obvious 'collar' around the bulb which kinds of shouts LED, if you're the sort of person that notices such things. You can get LED candle bulbs that look far more like old-fashioned incandescents, but not at this low price, unfortunately. Voted hot all the same cos Telegraph readers getting nostalgic for crappy old tungsten bulbs get on my wick. (ducks)

I bought some dimmable led candle bulbs and they flicker. Oe rather strobe very fast, if you wave your hand in front it's very noticeable, this doesn't seem to happen on my non dimmable ses filament led candles, gu10 led bulbs or mr16/14 low voltage led bulbs.

The ones that flicker, why are they being used in out of interest?

Mines the same but that's because anyone changing over to dimmable led bulbs Will need to have a new dimmable led Switch fitted .

Mine are ses fitting and candle bulbs suit the fitting nicely. Bedside lamp is another use or chandelier.
