OK so I've put a socially unacceptable amount of time into Destiny on PS3 and I think that this is not a wise purchase. The graphics on PS3 are noticeably worse than Xbox 360 (mainly in texture quality) and the loading times are absolutely terrible. Also, Rise of Iron is an Xbox One/PS4 exclusive DLC.
If you only have a PS3 obviously go right ahead, and then you can transfer your characters across if/when you get a PS4. But bear in mind you will have to buy the game again, and buy PS Plus to play strikes etc.
Basically, it's not that great a deal. Nothing against OP, it's just how things have worked out with the game.
EDIT: From what I've seen, there are more players on PS3 than 360, at least when I play (evenings and weekends)

WARNING: You do not get "The Taken King".
You get the Destiny Base Disc. The Taken King is DLC, as are the others. The DLC codes expired October 2016.
I bought loads to sell on and customers kept returning them after the DLC expiry date. Tesco should remove these from sale and repackage the disc in an Original Destiny cover

Apart from sf2 hdr & sf3 oe, the best game I ever played on ps3 was dust 514, I spent over 7000 hours in that game and about £300 on virtual stuff
If this game is similar it is a good purchase

ps4 version in asda for £10 but if DLC expired as said above possible no a good deal
