I've got the i5, 8gb ram, 256gb HD, Dell Venue 11 Pro. Fantastic Tablet from Cex for £224. Also bought the Slim case which turns it into a laptop with an extra battery for £15 from Cex. All with 2 years warranty. Replaced my i5, 4gb, 128gb, surface pro 3 with this and it's a great setup.

Whats the quality of the other B grades that people have picked up?
I paid a bit extra and condition is good. Only noticed a few really fine scratches on the screen that isn't really noticeable when the screen is on.
Just had a look on the link again, wow they are doing 8gb 256GB ssd versions of these but only B grade

what wording or term do I look for if I want a good one with minimal scratches etc.
the 8gb ones seem Decent. the pen also seems compatible with the latititude 11.
looking for a reasonably priced keyboard case for this now!

I bought a XPS 13 i7 from this seller last year.
Condition is really good, price is very competitive. The XPS 13 has be the best screen among all laptops I have used.
I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller.
Only thing to note is the quoted price need to add £10 delivery and 20% VAT, which can be a lot more than the quoted price.

but my issue is not so much with the performance generally, but that when resuming from sleep, occasionally the processor is throttled down at 0.6Ghz and doesn't change. performance is dog slow when this happens. if I plug the laptop in it then corrects the issue. Xtune shows thermal throttling is occurring, but temp can be low like 52o. My Bios is A20 so unsure if it is the bios causing this or something else.
I have two of the battery keyboards. one UK, the other Czech. UK works fine, but the Czech has a known problem with the track pad related to the keyboard battery. correcting it requires opening and disconnecting the battery in the keyboard (or letting it drain to zero and leaving a day or so). Both were from eBay, bought at different times from different seekers

I have the 7139 and have been looking in to the throttling 'issue'. the Dell will bumble along at 1.6GHz, someone bumping up to 2.0+GHz, but when the temp hits 67o thermal throttling kicks in. I have edited the bios with the hex fix, which in itself has had no effect, but not yet done the windows edit which is the second part

Isn't there a way to stop the throttling? I'm sure I read so in an older thread
Also, if anyone's interested, you can sometimes find the docks (adds 2 USB3 ports) or the keyboards for cheap on CEX. I don't think they have a stock alert function but you can set up a third-party website to periodically scan the product page for changes. I forget which website I used.

So this is essentially just like any other Windows 10 computer (I know, stupid question probably) - I'm interested in using one of these as a lightweight device to go out and about to configure equipment (telecoms equipment) so as long as it has a USB port I could plug in a usb-serial, usb-network adaptor and happy days.

It is a Windows 8/10 computer. Intel CPU, full desktop OS running on it it just doesn't have a keyboard built in and is touchscreen.
It has a single USB 3 port so any USB device will plug in.

Brace yourself for the price of those!
I have an i3 version of this. Don't get your hopes too high about it being an i5, the Y series throttle on power and heat so quick burst operations may be that imperceivable 7% faster than the i3, but once that throttle kicks in for games and prolonged CPU load it makes no difference.
On the whole I was happy twelve months ago with a mint condition unit for around the £150 mark with a full 12 month warranty (which MCS were completely on the ball with replacing the dud unit I initially got) but without a discount code on this I'm not wowed by the price, especially as they now only have 90 days warranty (sale of goods act still applies though).
I use mine for web browsing, media playing, word, powerpoint, excel. Basically, typical school/college/university coursework and I've never felt like 4gb wasn't enough. The SSD on them is pretty snappy so it just runs without me ever feeling it lags.
Even manages a bit of Civ V as long as I don't take the mick with map size and number of opponents.

bought quite a lot from these guys and the stuff is always in excellent condition. Got one of these from them and also bought the desktop stand charger thingy (stop me if I am being too technical!) and also bought from ebay one of the proper keyboards that has an extra battery in it. So for a relatively small outlay I have a tablet which doubles as a touchscreen laptop. Find myself using it all the time and the screen display is very crisp

personally i don't think they are comparable .. my ipad air (and Android with 4:3 large retina screen would be the same) pretty much does everything i would want with a logitech keyboarddock/cover (and a powerful desktop back at base) ... but if you are going to be doing anything heavyweight on the road - office video photography etc then you need something with decent connectivity & grunt and something like this with a keyboard dock would have its place

Seconding the above sentiment that they're not comparable. I've got a shield tablet and the i3 model of the DV11P. I'd reach for the shield to replace my phone for say android games or maybe google searches while watching TV (who's that actor etc). The DV11P is more of a laptop replacement (though with 4GB of RAM it's not a beefy laptop). I'd reach for it if I needed to do some maintenance on servers, load up photoshop, edit some video etc. It's a full windows PC and hence does a lot more than android tablets.

the pricier ones are m3 processors which have much better benchmarks single and all core than this particular i5.
seems like that would be better value.
