I assume your very account is credited rather than your bank/cc, would that be correct? so it's more like a £50 Very voucher rather than money off?

When you open a very account it will offer you credit limit like £1000, when you buy something your limit is reduced by your purchase so for this scenario your account will be -£204.99 with a remaining avavilable credit of £796.01. When Very credits your account it will be -£163.99 with £836.01 available credit. At which point you can pay off the sum or chose an amount to pay as long as its paid off within 12 months you do not incur charges.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong anywhere xD

Thats correct. People just need to remember to click add to credit account and not select the pay in full option at the final checkout stage.

You're massively overcompicating this, it's simple:

1. You sign up for a Very credit account. For this example lets say you were given a £500 credit limit.
2. With your £500 credit you 'purchase' your PS4 Pro for £349.99 via 'Buy Now Pay Later', selecting the 12 month option.
3. Your credit limit is now £150.01 and you now owe £349.99 to Very.
4. Wait until 16/01/17, a 20% credit equating to £70 will be applied to your account. Your credit limit is now £230.01 and you owe £279.99 to Very. Pay this amount within 12 months of your purchase to restore your credit limit to £500 and avoid paying any interest. Done.

Theres no code, I'm not sure it you can apply 10% AND get the 20% credit back as it says the offer can’t be used in conjunction with other offers. When you check out there will be an option for "BNPL". You add to it and wait for the credit on your account by 16th Jan and pay it off bit by bit within 12months or all at once.

This is what I'm thinking too, the terms are pretty careful to say the money is credited to your account rather than paid back to you. If you go or are going for this, be sure you are getting the terms you think you are, because to me it sounds like you are paying full price and getting store credit later.

If you've selected buy now pay later is 12 months from when you made the order. For example, if you ordered today you have interest free till 28th Nov 2017. If you do not pay it all off by that date you will incur interest. How you pay off is up to you, you can pay off all at once (though I would wait till you get the 20% credit before you pay back) or pay £13.67 every month or £41.01 every 3 months or the whole sum right at the end as long as the account is cleared by the end of 12 months, you can enter the amount you want to pay every time. You can even do 45p everyday if you wish to do so :stuck_out_tongue:

I dont want to leave money in very to spend in future, but i see that , if i buy the console today, then there will be around 3 weeks interest charged at 40%. The interest will kick in 28th dec but the refund may not come back in til 16th jan? How much is that likely to be?

I wont suffer interest if i pay in full by 28th dec, but when the refund comes in in jan it will be a refund on a credit account which im assuming i cant withdraw as cash?

Exactly the dilemma I'm going through. I nearly bought a 4k TV yesterday but decided to wait until January but that's 99.9% certain to happen. My PS4 is full so I either spend £60 on a 1TB HDD for it or sell PS4 and get a 1TB Pro. Reckon I might get £150 for PS4 so ... £350 - £70 (the 20%) - £60 (HDD saving) - £150 (sell PS4) = £80 ? Surely a no brainer. £80 to upgrade.

I've had a lengthy conversation with a representative on webchat. Here's a summary:
- You can't use any other discount codes (including the 10% first time buyer promo code) with this offer.
- You get this offer by placing a normal order for a PS4 console with no codes and such, but you have to choose a BNPL option before completing the sale.
- It's 12 months interest free, after which you get charged at the standard rate (approx 150 per year for a ps4 pro)
- The 20% gets credited to you Very balance after 49 days of the item being delivered.
- There is no early payment fee

I've ordered one and it gives you 3k credit for purchases. After purchasing it clearly shows the cost was £353.99 including standard postage. The discount will be applied in 49 days so that's correct.

I've heard they recently changed a few things regarding BNPL and introduced these 'setup' fees, having used Very myself a number of times over the last 5 or 6 years I've not been subjected to this yet, although the last BNPL I had was well over 18 months ago I think, but saying that I put my order through for a base model PS4 Pro and added 12 months BNPL with collection at a local shop and the total was £349 as expected.

For anyone worried about not getting the discount applied, I have used this type of deal with Very a few times in the past and never had an issue. So, a PS4 Pro for £280 is my xmas prezzy to myself!

For those who hate using credit etc.. I used Very's offers to get £81.90 discount from my iPhone by crediting the account first.

I got a £2000 limit when I opened the account and the phone I wanted was £819. Very were offering 10% back on iPhones, so I credited my account with £737 (and a few extra pounds to cover the delivery cost) via bank transfer and then ordered the phone. I ended up only owing Very £82ish pounds for a couple of weeks until the 10% credit came back onto my account which then wiped out that debt (give or take a pound or two as I hadn't used precise maths!).

Hope that makes sense.

I chatted online and the guy confirmed you cannot use 2 discounts, his words:

Mark: is this offer valid with any other voucher codes?
Mark: i had a 10% off code, can use this on this offer aswel
Michael: I'm afraid we can only discount an item once.
Michael: You will need to chose between the 10% or the 20%.

Thanks OP. I went for a PS4 Pro in the end; I wasn't going to indulge on one because I'm not convinced of the PS4 Pro's longevity, or if it's even a good thing for the games industry. Make sure it has HDR and is actually a "proper" 4K TV. Buying a new 4K TV can be a complete minefield. Especially since 4K is a current buzz word for "better" but it's not always the case. Good luck

I'm still waiting for VERY to credit back the £50 on their recent "buy any gaming product over £200 and receive £50 credit back to your account" deal
It was supposed to be credited back by nov 8th, and after contacted customer services i was assured it would be in my account by nov 21st....... stilll waiting, but not holding my breath.

All credit applications impact credit history. Frequency of credit application, combination of non-mortgage credit etc. etc. What I am saying is simply - Depending on your current credit status, taking credit out on a games console to save peanuts could screw over a "life" purchase. If you are aware of credit, and such as yourself have access to your credit file you know where you stand, most however are not as studious as you. A drop of a few points could be the difference between a low and medium % rate on a mortgage for example, even if you are not dipping into anything below "good". Just a heads up.

I totally agree, and this is sound advice! I would recommend anyone interested in actually getting credit, especially for "life" purchases, to be educated about credit and keep track of their report/rating. As it can also be an excellent tool for detecting identity fraud, which can be catastrophic against the ability to get credit.

I am sure some people will help you on here, I actually went for a 1080p TV with a true 100hz panel recently, until the 4K TV's are a better price. You can get 4K TV's relatively cheap, but they use 8bit displays, don't have an OLED, and use HDMI 1.4 not 2.0. It can get confusing. Most TV's with true 4K HDR specs are in the thousands. But hopefully, people can point you in the right direction on here and let you know if any of the cheaper 4K TV's are worth paying for, at least until the technology settles. It's like when HD started to become mainstream, and many TVs were HD Ready and not true HD. Click on "Ask" in the header to speak to the community and see what they think. I hope this helps!

You will struggle I think, the customer service on the phone are worse than useless, I think they are actually based in South Africa, but Very are always strict on codes and multiple stacking, its never worked for me, not once, even using Quidco or TCB with any code always will get the cashback denied also.

Just beware, they will not honour your transaction and you will end up arguing with them and getting nowhere, trust me, I've been there, you can ask them to pull the recording but they won't, ever, and they will just fob you off.

You don't need a 4K TV for pro, the extra power will increase detail in patched and newer games and stabilise or improve frame rates. On older games not patched the console will run cooler and quieter but the main reason to upgrade, forget EVERYTHING ELSE; there is a freeakin USB port on the back! Yes you can plug in your Lego Dimension portal or any doo diddly acky you want without that stupid wire sticking out the front .. finally!

C+C isn't available for first orders IIRC. I've been a Very customer for a while, and it's available for me.

As far as payment, you will be emailed and text when your statement is due, your first statement will be the delivery fee. To pay the BNPL balance you have to go into your account and manually pay for it, they won't remind you on that one. There's a seperate tab for the BNPL balance under the 'make a payment' area.

That, or its a marketing thing. Either way, after your first order or so it will become available.

Edit: Just spoke to customer service online, they confirmed the credit will apply. I have now got this on phone and in writing:

Ubernisia: at 10:37:10
I had a look into the account and I can see the credit of 20% will reflect on your account by 16th January 2017.
Me: at 10:38:33

Lovely,
Me: at 10:38:44
can you confirm the credit amount for me please?
Ubernisia: at 10:39:03
The credit amount does not reflect at all I'm afraid.
Me: at 10:39:31
How may I calculate the amount?
Me: at 10:39:51
is it 20% of the price that I paid, not including delivery?
Me: at 10:40:32
It gives a total of £63.99.
Ubernisia: at 10:41:00
You take the cash price, divide it by 20 and multiple that by 100.
Me: at 10:41:48
So the price for this item was £314
Ubernisia: at 10:42:06
Sorry I included the delivery price.
Ubernisia: at 10:42:12
Let me do it again for you.
Ubernisia: at 10:42:39
Sorry the amount is £62.80.
Ubernisia: at 10:43:22
I do apologize the calculation works as follows: You take the cash price, multipl it by 20 and divide that by 100.
Me: at 10:43:41
thanks I got it,
Me: at 10:43:56
0.20 x 314 = 62.80
Ubernisia: at 10:43:57
You're welcome.
Ubernisia: at 10:44:05
Perfect.
Me: at 10:44:11
so I should expect 62.80 by 16th January
Ubernisia: at 10:44:20
That is correct.
Me: at 10:44:26
I am worried that I won't receive this because I used 10% off code.
Ubernisia: at 10:44:43
Trust me it will be applied.
Ubernisia: at 10:45:02
If it does not we can always escalate it to get it sorted.

Me: at 10:45:40
That is very good to hear.
Me: at 10:45:48
Thank you very much Ubernisia
Ubernisia: at 10:45:53

Trust me, it won't work, its very well documented that Very are 100% strict on stacking codes and deals, they will even deny cashback (Quidco, TCB) if a discount code has been used, I've used Very for years and its the case every time.

EDIT - just also seen your chat dialogue, don't take what they say as gospel, their customer service agents are based in South Africa and really have no clue at all about how things are with discounts etc, they are worse than useless and have no proper knowledge of things.

But its your choice, I can only speak from my own long history with Very and from many accounts of other members.

Just a heads up for everyone with "order is being processed" status.
If you're a first time buyer on Very they will call you or send you an email advising you to call them just to confirm you don't have any other accounts with them. It's a 5 minute call overall and the chap I talked to was very helpful (and yes, a heavy South African accent, but hey nothing wrong with that.)
Right after hanging up I got an email confirming my order is now placed, and I expect it to be dispatched soon.

This deal is 90% expired and done.
All PS4 slim options are now either £90 more expensive or Out of stock.

It's just PS4 Pro for £280 which means using credit account and waiting until end of January for credit refund and dealing with Very.

it's time to move on and wait for another good deal which will happen.

I just spoke with a customer service representative who when asked to confirm that the 20% discount would be applied confirmed that it would be applied on 18th Jan. He then asked whether I had also applied the 10% new customer discount. I said no, and he asked me to go to the site and give him the code. I did so and he said that both 10% and 20% discounts would be applied. We'll see...

Me: it seems you have a deal advertised on your homepage about "get 20% back after buying a ps4"
Me: are you familiar with this?
Siphosethu: Let me check it out for you.
Me: it says "20% back on all playstation consoles when you choose buy now pay later"
Siphosethu: Yes that is correct, when you purchase the playstation and place iton Buy Now Pay Later, you will get 20% cashback.
Me: the console is approximately £350
Siphosethu: Yes you will get 20% off on that.
Me: so if i place the order using buy now pay later, the amount owed will be £350 at first, and then in January a 20% credit will be applied, which brings the amount owed to £280
Me: is this correct?
Siphosethu: Brilliant you got that right.

Me: Excellent, last question
Me: can I use the 10% off first credit order with the 20% cashback offer?
Siphosethu: I'm happy to help.
Siphosethu: Yes you can.
Me: Are you sure? it says this in the terms and conditions for the %20 cashback
Me: This offer can’t be used in conjunction with other offers. Offer live 28th Nov - 6th Dec *****.

Siphosethu: I have doubled checked, you can only have one discount per order.
Me: okay so I can't use both of these offers
Siphosethu: So meaning that you can place an order and add the first credit discount (10%).
Siphosethu: Then place another order of the Play station and add it on BNPL.
Me: unfortunately theres nothing else i want
Me: so ill lose the 10% first order offer
Siphosethu: I'm afraid you can only have one discount on an order placed.

£280 for a PS4 pro is an absolute bargain really. I think the cheapest it will hit is maybe £300 with a game this year but that is anyone's guess when and if it happens. Just a heads up try not to overpay...its a bitch to get your money from your very account back into your back account.

Ended up with a couple hundred left for various reasons, been back and forth with them for weeks to get it refunded one day they said it'll be done within the next few days, next they say they'll send a check blah blah.
Managed to finally get SOME of the money refunded and ended up having contact my bank to get majority of the rest by filling indemity etc.
Unfortunately my bank were unable to get the full ammount left force refunded back into my account but they did majority which im happy about it.

So now technically im still owed £7 by very lol, rang up to get it just for lols after speaking with my bank to get it and they gave the same spiel no sign of it and I dont expect it to be done.

Clearly they'd much rather have you keep that money sat in your credit account so you're more inclined to shop with very but im not a very shopper, I only opened one just to get an item months ago. I have no other use for it.

But yeah good deal.

Opened the box and this is a USED PS4 PRO.

the box itself had swipe marks all over it. The consol has hand prints on it all over underneath the protective film, and scratches/scuff marks on edges. To be honest I could live with it. But I won't.

my seal also looked intact. I phoned PS and registered the machine, they said they cannot check a serial number to see if it has been registered before!

Very are asking me to send it back, wait for a refund and then re-order. Apparently they have no 'replacement' policy. LOL

This is going to be fun...

emporer can you PM me to compare the condition of your machine? FYI all the cables and controller are in seperate plastic pouches. The pouches are not sealed, not sure if they are designed that way. Also all the cables are tied with white sandwich bag ties, not small black ones.

It would put my mind at ease if yours was same.

The Console.

1. Buy any PlayStation console and select Buy Now Pay Later at checkout.
2. We'll automatically credit 20% of the console price back to your account by 16th January 2017, and we’ll email you when we have applied the credit to your account.
Buy Now Pay Later allows you to delay payment for up to 6, 9 or 12 months. The payment free period starts when you place your order.

Avoid interest by paying in full within the payment free period. If you don't, interest will be charged. Find out more in checkout.

Delivery charges are payable on your next statement.

Order must be placed online. If you return your item, the credit will be reversed. This offer can't be used in conjunction with other offers. Offer live 28th Nov – 6th Dec 2016.

Well I did read all the T&Cs for the credit agreement, man, the charges would absolutely kill you if you messed up paying it back on time. Charges for using a cheque, charges for using BNPL, charges left and right, but... if you plan on just paying this off once the discount has kicked in, then it's a deal. have some heat. Set a reminder in your calendar NOW, to remind you to check to pay it off in Jan. They do say they will let you know when you order if there is a charge for bnpl, i didn't get one and it went through at £353 inc postage, which is annoying as I would have selected collect+ for free.

Ordered a MacBook Pro 15" today with 10% credit back from Very.co.uk (i.e. ~£270). Also ordered a PS4 Pro with 20% credit back from Very.co.uk today too (~£70). Both coming this side of Christmas. Spoke to customer service and was informed that the two credits should appear in my Very.co.uk account on 28th December 2016. I can then apply them to any BNPL purchases I already have on the account, if I wish (I already have a couple of others), or use the credit to shop for something else. I am pleased because the total sum of both credits (£340) has almost paid for the PS4 Pro (aside from £10) and I am selling my existing PS4 to a friend.

Wonder if you can keep the rest of us updated also :-) going to pick my one up tomorrow but wasnt gana open until xmas.... and omg if its a used one arrrrr

Also noticed you said before you have got experience with these deals!? Wonder if you can answer a few questions I have as having second thoughts.... (wondering if they will payout the 20%)
So iv used a cashback site (tcb) is there anyway this would stop me from getting the 20% (can you be 100% on this)
Also been looking at the site and how to pay after I get the 20% back.... this is the bit that has me worried!! Looking at the make payment section there are 3 section
1. make payment,
2. pay for bnpl,
3 setup dd.
It looks like the bnpl has to be covered in full or after a year they will start charging you interest on it... so you have to pay the full £349.99 regardless of discount you get after as that goes toward your account balance not to bnpl.... someone said ask them to change it over in comments but iv been on chat with them and they said they cant do that! And discount will go into my very account! This all makes it sound like ill be getting money back in very store credit? (As money goes in very account not off item cost) And ill have to cover the full bnpl item cost as if thats not cleared come end of next year interest will start on it.?
talking to cs on chat gave me strange feeling about them paying out as they kept saying if you qualify... I got angry at em at one point and said why you keep saying if... have I not? They said you "should" if you did bnpl... wtf told them like mil times I did and they checked my account to make sure still kept saying if... like say they know something is gana f up the payout!
Finallyyyyy lol sorry about long post dont think its a £70 discount the staff wouldnt confirm the amount to me but going by what others have said it looks like it will be 20% before vat is added lowering the discount amount!? So...... what you think?

Please anyone feel free to post on this (Oh and im not stupid or anything, or even a scrub at getting these deals just heard all about very and there shams so worried after purchase)

Read what I wrote in my post above. The credit can either be spent with Very.co.uk on further purchases or it can be applied against any of your BNPL purchases (you may just have this one). The cash back from the affiliate site won't prevent you getting the credit with Very.co.uk.
hukd_addict
30 Nov 16 #325
by qualify - they mean qualify for credit - if you have the option for bnpl you'll get the discount.

You can pay the balance in full as soon as the discount applies. You just order now then wait for the email

you can pay it over whatever bnpl period you selected, but will be charged interest AFTER this time. So if you pick 12 months BNPL but dont pay the balance off by month 14 - you'll be charged interest for 2 months.
david14
30 Nov 16 3 #326
Actually that is not correct. If you don't pay the entire BNPL balance off before the end of the 12 month period, and even leave so much as 0.01p of it outstanding, you'll be charged interest for the entire 12 month period immediately after the 12 month period has expired. You cannot leave any outstanding balance on a 12 month BNPL otherwise this will occur. I've seen it in person and it is explicitly explained when you login and read the BNPL transaction (the total potential amount of interest is listed).

Don't make the mistake of not paying off the entire BNPL balance before the end of the BNPL period or you will be
charged the total 12 months interest on the item from right back from the day you bought the item. That's how they make their money!
hukd_addict
30 Nov 16 #327
thanks for providing the info... i'm paying in full as soon as the discount applies (actually plan to overpay by 1p) so not much use to me - I really think it's quite risky to do this deal if your not prepared to pay it off in one go in Jan.
david14
30 Nov 16 1 #328
If you use a calendar like I do and can set future reminders, and even future monthly reminders to ensure you continually pay off a proportion of the BNPL balance, it's effectively free money over 12 months. I think you should even be able to set up a standing order to pay something to your account weekly or monthly but if you do you must remember to login and allocate the funds to the BNPL transaction before the expiration of the BNPL interest free period.

I've had a number of BNPL's and only paid interest on one. The rest I've paid off before the expiration of the BNPL interest free period and taken advantage of the free money.
david14
30 Nov 16 #329
Just to add, anyone wishing to set up a Standing Order from their bank account which will permit you to pay a specific amount to your account each week or month, to ensure you clear a balance equally over time, the details For Very.co.uk are:

Internet/ TelephoneBanking

Payments can be made directly from your bank by quoting our sort code 62-25-61, our account number 0000 0000. Please note it is important that you provide a reference number which will be your Very account number.

Payments made via your bank will usually be received the same working day if made prior to 6.30pm.

I may do this to ensure my account is cleared over time before any interest will be due.

Hi David thanks for reply

I did read your post but thats contradicts what iv been told by them and what site says!!! Iv searched hi and low on site they have no options to transfer money from a very credit account to a bnpl!..... are you going on what staff said or have you done this before? You clearly understand what im talking about when I say the bnpl needs to be cleared as iv seen your other posts but going on what terms say and site the 20% will go into very credit account with no way to use that to pay off the current bnpl I have for the ps4 that is at the full £349.99
you also said they told you the credit would get applied back end of December THAT IS 100% WRONG!!! it says in the terms when it will get applied they are not going to do it per account its gana be site wide and will get auto done. Reason that date they told you is wrong is because somthing else! Let me explain I had a look into why they take so long into giving you 20% back then found out for the xmas holidays they have extended there returns date from 28 days upto mid jan!!! That explains why they will be giving 20% at a later date because by then everyones return date would have ended.
Cant understand why they said 28th December to you as its wrong i think, says in offer when you will get credit! There is no changing that for anyone.... when I asked when will I get 20% back I was told they cant see that info on there screen!!! And that I just have to wait until 17th jan

They were telling people you can stake codes on this offer before wtf!!! That is clearly also wrong as says in t&c's cant! The staff havnt got a clue!!! and will screw people over come 17th jan DONT STACK CODES PPL WONT WORK SAYS IN TERMS

Anyone here ever do a offer like this on very before where they apply credit to very account? how did that effect your bnpl? Even though you cleared very credit account can you go to your bnpl section under payments and see if they are still there? Waiting to sting you??
AngryEnglishman
30 Nov 16 #331
Buy now pay later purchases are deducted from your Very credit account, they aren't separate entities. 20% of your PS4 purchase amount will be credited back to your Very credit account by 16/01/17.
david14
30 Nov 16 #332
The credit can definitely be applied against BNPL purchases whether it arrives by the end of December 2016 or sometime during January 2017. I am not concerned. I went through it on the telephone with two people because I needed to increase my credit limit slightly to buy both a MacBook Pro 15" and a PS Pro 4. I was advised to apply the credits (I'll be getting two) against the BNPL purchases that expire the earliest on my account (I have four BNPL purchases, so that makes sense) or I could buy something else with the credit at the time if I wished. Either way once I get the credit there will be £340 more available for me to spend.
invis
30 Nov 16 #333
Hi thanks for reply, this is what had me confused as they looked like two diffrent things! Your very credit account (yes that got deducted by £350 but still bnpl looked like diffrent thing that needed to be cleared by date.) There is even some warning on payment page saying "remember you min monthly payment dont count toward bnpl" they have to be cleared separately! I was like waaaaaaaa smh....

Ok, so first off mine was all sealed and fine, all good.

So with using TCB (or Quidco) it will track your cashback but get declined way down the line, it won't affect this 20% deal at all, only the cashback won't be paid.

All you have to do is buy the PS4 and just use 12 month BNPL at the checkout, then add to account. Your balance on your Very account will be the full amount (for now), unless you paid postage you wont need to pay anything until this time next year, if you paid postage that 4 quid will need to be paid on your next monthly statement from Very. Otherwise just leave it sat there until Jan when they will apply the 20% credit to your Very account, in my case I only have the £349 for the PS4 Pro, so in Jan that goes down to £280, I can then choose to pay whatever I like off that balance until next December, but make sure its paid by then otherwise interest kicks in as per the 12 months BNPL.

Simples!

Ah ok your stuff looks more complex looks like someone will be having fun xmas :stuck_out_tongue:
But still though thats my concern I dont want more credit to spend I just wana pay the whats left and be done with it. so did they say to you if you can apply it to bnpl yourself or they have to?

Done.
david14
30 Nov 16 #339
Well ultimately one ends up paying "full whack" with no interest if smart and gains 10% or even 20% credit back. I bought a MacBook Pro 15" and a PS 4 Pro and because of these credits the PS 4 Pro was almost free. 0% interest as I shall pay it all off before the interest free period ends, as usual.

Received my PS4 pro, it is sealed but I can tell that they opened it from the bottom, manual inside was all bent up inside, some finger marks on the console but not to bad, every thinng else was untouched, I am kinda salty that it was opened, but £280 for a PS4 pro is worth it at the end, gonna have a great time playing Persona 5 today. :innocent:

Just collected mine (click and collect).
PS4 Pro box was not sealed (outer cardboard transit box fully sealed) and PS4 Pro had handprints all over it. I've been with Very for a few years and this is the first time I've had a problem with them.
AngryEnglishman
30 Nov 16 #351
All these reports of used looking PS4 Pros are worrying... and strange. Not sure what's going on when this is a recently released console. Perhaps it's some kind of unit check the warehouse is required to perform?

I noticed in my transaction history it says 'Post And Packing £3.99 - Direct From Manufacturer', I'm not sure if that means the units are actually coming directly from Sony.
chrisroth
30 Nov 16 #352
My Pro is out for delivery today. 59 (from 104) deliveries to go before he gets to my house. Local motorway is closed and roadworks in the area too, I don't think he's going to make it.

Very not on (!) selling opened stock without some kind of notice that that's the case (and suitable discount). Hope mine is sealed, don't know what I'd decide to do if it had been opened (what does that mean for warranty etc, you know you've treated it well but what about before then, and if/when the hard disk or optical drive fails in 6 months you'll always wonder - but then it's being delivered by Yodel so it's going to get a physical work out anyway...).

@AngryEnglishman - My order consistently says "our supplier". "Being processed by our supplier", "Despatched by our supplier" etc. Interesting that yours says manufacturer.

Seems to be a mixed bag, mine was definitely brand new and untouched, not a single fingerprint on it and all was sealed etc, but if Very are selling returns as new, that's bad.
chrisroth
30 Nov 16 #355
Oh yeah. "Manufacturer" here too. Would be nice to know why it's been opened cos without that you cant make a decision over whether you're happy to keep it. Very selling returns as new is not right. I work with warehousing software and it should have a different code against it if it's an open box/return.

Ideally if it was Sony doing a spot check they'd have a "opened by QA" like you get on luggage so we wouldn't have to worry.
david14
30 Nov 16 1 #356
They'll have been opened as part of the Investigatory Powers Act Bill (2016) in order for the security services to install special software so they can monitor everything you do with the console. See this link.

30 Nov 16 #357
I took the plunge for a Pro along with Dishonored 2. I don't want the game but it works at only £16 extra with the 20% back...and I should be able to sell it for £30...meaning the Pro only really cost me £266. Just need to find the best place to sell/trade my old PS4 now.
2minutenoodles
30 Nov 16 #358
Game isn't included on the 20% according to the terms but still £20 is a good price.

If I get an open boxed one it is going straight back but reading a few here accepting it 'because of the price' is the reason they are doing it.

I could not complete the order online so called Very. They told me I qualified for the credit account and limit but not the Buy Now Pay Later option. Is this total **** to get me to cancel the order or legit? I cancelled anyway but I want to know if anyone else had this?
david14
30 Nov 16 #364
I've heard of this happening previously. If they think you'll definitely pay off the BNPL balance before the interest period would end it's not in their financial interest to extend you this credit option. They only want people on BNPL if they believe there is a significant possibility that the person won't pay it off before the huge interest charges would kick in. This is why I never pay off BNPL too early. I let them run close to their end so the lender might calculate that there is a good chance that I won't pay it off before it expires, because I don't want them to stop offering me BNPL in the future!

You probably pay everything off in full early and all the time.
muse54
30 Nov 16 #365
Is there something I can do about this? Doesn't seem fair to be excluded because I have good payment history.
david14
30 Nov 16 #366
Probably not. It's at their discretion. They can withdraw access to further BNPL's at anytime to an existing account holder who's had them previously as well. Why would it be worth it to them to lend to someone who's going to take their free money and almost certainly, in their financially calculated opinion, pay it all back in full before the interest free period expires? It costs them to lend the money to their customers so they don't want too many people like those I describe because they wouldn't profit from their gigantic interest rates, and would make a loss from their borrowings. It's sensible business for them to exclude some people.
emporer
30 Nov 16 #367
I disagree, I've had a Very account for 6 or 7 years, I use 9 or 12 months BNPL on loads of things, always paying them off within a few months, they have never refused me any BNPL and its always an option on my account despite Very never making any money from me in interest, even postage I save as I have a Collect+ shop just a few hundred yards away from home.

So mine arrived today. I ordered the 500gb cheap one with Watch Dogs 2. They've sent me a 1tb version with watch dogs 2 with a small note apologising. Obviously I'm quite happy if they've kept the price at the original 500gb price.
The model number is cuh-2016b - is that still the Slim version?
david14
30 Nov 16 #369
Perhaps they've profiled you based on where you live, your general credit worthiness as gleaned from the credit agencies and what you order and have decided you're a good enough risk to lend to (in respect of potentially not sometimes paying BNPL's off). I've paid all mine off in time avoiding interest except for one several years ago and I'm still being offered them. However they could switch it off for you or I at any time for future purchases if they decided it was costing them too much by lending money for free. What incentive do they have to keep lending to people who will likely never incur interest?
jhb019
30 Nov 16 1 #370

30 Nov 16 #376
in case anyone is still unsure about the combining of the 20% credit and further 10% off, I created an account and purchased a PS4 Pro with Watchdogs 2 with the 20% credit offer, but after going through the purchase, had nothing stating that I would get the credit on my account. So, I contacted them on the live chat and got confirmation that I would indeed get the credit to my account, but also that they would apply the 10% discount. I got a transcript of the conversation, to maker double sure that they will credit the account as well.

Upon leaving the conversation I checked my account and saw that they had taken the 10% off, as promised. I will get the 20% credited to my remaining debt of £337 in January, leaving me with a total of 269.60 to pay.

Got mine fired up. Box was sealed. If this comes in at 168 delivered I will be a happy chapy . Sold my original PS4 for 120 quid and selling games so have effectively upgraded from a ps4 b chassis to a ps4 slim.

Hey guys

Im a little confused here? - i signed up for a new account - went to buy the pro - it said i had a £400 credit limit (even though it never asked me for card details to do a credit check?) and then it said order declined on the last page?

If it was declined due to a poor credit (which could well be the case i must admit!) - how have they done that just through my name and address?

Cheers
david14
1 Dec 16 #385
Very.co.uk may simply need to check more information with you to make sure it's genuinely you and not a fraudster attempting to buy from them. Don't take it personally! Telephone them tomorrow and speak with them. I had this issue when I first signed up with Very.co.uk and they clearly didn't believe I was genuine even after I phoned them because they then sent a letter to my address asking me to call them again. I finally offered to scan them ID and send a photo of myself standing outside my house but they relented and decided they accepted I was genuine and then permitted me to have the account. All has been fine ever since.

I assume they must get hit with a high level of attempted fraud especially because one can potentially buy from them without requiring a payment method, due to their BNPL feature.

Incidentally credit checks can be done simply on a name and address. There's no requirement to provide other payment details.

After all my worry yesterday (will it, wont it arrive etc) it arrived at 5:50pm and was all sealed and lovely. Got the files copied across in about 80 mins (my brother did the same at launch and used wifi - took hours - definitely use direct ethernet cable if you've got one). Lovely to have 500+GB free vs being full up. Doubt that'll last long.

Well I got my Pro, and to confirm it didn't appear to have any tampering whatsoever.

However, I must admit, the overall packing is a little shonky. I think it is Sonys fault though. Absolutely no signs of my packaging being compromised. Well chuffed with that! this is a great price but it comes with risk and gamble of dealing with Very, many people are getting opened boxes some with finger print marks and missing manual etc from Very which they should immediately return.
however Very don't have liberal return policies like amazon, john lewis, etc,far from that.so expect some hassle if you are returning something back.

their customer service are appalling and based in south africa, they can give very misleading information and there is absolutely no way you rely on what they said to you over phone or on chat to deal with possible problems and disagreements.(example not receiving the 20% code, etc).

none of this might happen but you should be aware there is a risk and it's real.

also for those who don't own a 4K Tv and those who don't intend to buy one soon the PS4 Pro currently won't be worth it, despite the claims there is really not much noticeable benefit of PS4 Pro on 1080p TVs,if anything there are actually worse frame rates and slower performance for some titled played on PS4 Pro on 1080p compared to standard PS4.
(examples : Skyrim SE, The Last of Us and Mantis Burn Racing..)

Mine arrived BEWARE.

They tried their very best to make it look like it wasn't opened, I didn't think it had been as seal was in tacked on top other than air bubble. The base outer box was a bit loose and slightly concerning but I wondered how they could open it without tearing it, well they must have.

I recorded the entire unboxing in one take and the controller had a patch of grease to start but everything looked new, got to the console also looked new, carefully kept my hands in view of where I was touching and revealed the console from wrap and there it was one hand print, three clear fingers that weren't mine handled the console before I did.

This is unacceptable and I would say the majority of people wouldn't notice it had been opened unless they were looking for it.

Record your unboxing. I won't be keeping it.

Bizarre. The PS4 Pro has only been out for a matter of weeks, how could so many returns have been processed and repackaged? I'm starting to think that perhaps Sony have had to transfer accessories across from slim units or something along those lines. I know for PS Vita bundles they took standard SKUs and opened them up to shove extra accessories (memory card + games vouchers) in the box and then sealed that up in an outer slipcase. Just a theory.

I've configured it and am presently undertaking the data transfer from my old PS4, which I'll be selling to a friend, using a LAN cable. It seems very straight forward and is coping everything. what you saying is simply impossible.Sony will never do such thing in this amateur way, living greasy human hand prints on new electronic device.
it's just impossible, never happened, never will.
it can only be done by a retailer, in a warehouse for god knows what reason.
DevilsNeverCry
1 Dec 16 #407
This is quite possible to be honest. The overall packing was quite poor in my opinion, but I have no doubt in my mind that every item in the box was brand new. It could be QA testing at the packing facility as well for all we know.

I dont doubt some users recollections as such, just think that in most instances tehy are not used, simply poor packaging etc.

Well, I sold my launch PS4 last year and got the MGSV Limited Edition, so it should have held a bit of value. I didn't really want rid of it because it is sexy, but needs must, the urge to be in the 4K future outweighed my wanting to hold onto a red/gold PS4

I will give you an update as soon as I get chance. Hoping to have a few minutes on it later tonight. I got the KS7000 firstly on price, secondly because it has almost all of the same tech that is present in the KS8000. Most people gripes are with build quality, i think generally panel quality is good etc.
AngryEnglishman
1 Dec 16 #409
It's not impossible, it only takes one incompetent contractor/distributor/warehouse. Is it unlikely? Yes. Certainly not impossible though. It's also unlikely that there are masses of returned and restocked PS4 Pros floating around 3 weeks after release. The way the PS Vita bundles were repackaged was surprisingly shoddy.
Tequila

it can be done by re-sellers,in warehouses, disterbutors yes but not by Sony.

Mine arrived days ago, but with all the comments about used consoles and bad packaging, I thought I would mention that mine seems perfect. Definitely not opened, neither at the top or the bottom. I Ordered a PS4 from Tesco recently, and the PS4 Pro from Very was actually packaged better, with the box of the PS4 in better condition also. I have not had to deal with customer services, so can't comment on that. If the 20% gets paid back, then I will be pleased with both the service and the item received.

I just noticed your comment, partly yes. I definitely don't want incremental console updates like the iPhone. But I am confident that won't happen, at least not in the near future. Console customers seem to like the stability of a longer console generation. I think the PS5 will be a reality, rather than a continuous platform, again like Andriod and IOS, which is what Microsoft seems to be pushing towards, at least in their recent marketing. I am also not sure how much Sony will support the PS4 Pro and to what extent. I am certain, especially with the large user base of current PS4 consoles, Sony doesn't want to alienate the install base with extras in games, or games themselves, that are only available on the PS4 Pro. When Sony did the Pro console reveal, their marketing spiel was "No one will be left behind". I hope that all makes sense? We shall see what happens; I am watching with interest.

Got mine today - despite it saying it would be before 6th December (I expected it next week) Packaging was like ruffrice's. Infact it comes in a rather sturdy cardboard box. Not opened, sealed as I would have expected it to be. No marks nothing - brand new.

Instantly threw in the 2TB drive from my old PS4, reinstalled the software (the 800mb version not the 300mb version fyi) runs great. Much quieter than my old PS4 and it seems to load Destiny faster. I did notice far far less frame drops playing as well, I'm only running 1080p for now though.

A tip. If you have a 1080p av receiver, DO NOT enable HDR. I tried it "just to see" I ended up getting no picture and bad crackling through the speakers, that wasn't resolved by turning HDR off, rebooting the console or resetting the AV receiver. Only a safe mode boot on PS4 then restore factory settings fixed it.

Cause: my guess is a screw up on the hdmi handshake caused by me turning on unsupported input for the amp.

After a few hours, playing on 1080p - the question I asked myself was - did I really need this? The answer is "possibly" the stable framerate on destiny was a nice surprise and my old ps4 is a launch console which was rather loud, this is silent - big improvement. If I say I get £130 for my old console, it's deffo worth a £150 to upgrade. That's how I'm looking at it.

I agree with all except one thing, incremental would't detriment the existing userbase like you think, apps run fine on an iphone 4s for example even today, that phone is now 6 generations old, same store same apps, just slower using it. I think it will go that way, the fact they haven't put a UHD drive in the pro is a good indicator. I can also see them releasing a PRO2 towards the end of next year or early 2018, when scorpio blows pro out of the water on performance. I just wanted the pro for mass effect andromeda next year, I'll have an OLED by then (waiting for them to fix lag on the b6) sweeeeeeeet.

Sorry to hear. They'll be hoping you'll demonstrate that you'll likely incur them some interest I imagine. Have you ever carried a balance on a credit card?

Mine arrived yesterday and appeared to have been opened (the seal was just slit across)...on the flipside, it was perfectly packaged otherwise, the console looked pristine and none of the bags of components appeared to have been opened. I had a similar issue with my launch day PSVR headset from Tesco direct. Although the seal hadn't been broken.. there were no protective plastic covers on the lenses and they appeared slightly smudged...and that was day one stock so couldn't have been a returned unit. Odd.

I think I'm going to return it. Can't see benefits of PS4 Pro for me as I won't get a 4K TV and not many games I like at the moment at 1080p 60FPS that aren't on normal PS4. If I return it will they refund the shipping cost, or will I still owe them that? Then could they possibly charge that huge interest if I forget to pay that shipping cost?

How are Very like for returns generally? I have opened it and set it up.

Heat added, there is no downside of this deal providing you are willing to pay for the full thing before the end of next year, not only do you not pay for a year, they knock the price down as long as you wait until mid January! Nice find!

3 Dec 16 1 #444
I cleared off the balance immediately. They'll then apply the 20% in jan, so it will cover my other item I bought. You don't have to wait to pay it off, that's not how a cashback credit works.

Just had an email from Very telling me that I won't be getting the discount because I didn't select buy now pay later, despite the fact that I opened a credit account and used it for the order. Anyone else had this? I assume that it's a mistake at their end but maybe I missed something?
david14
4 Dec 16 1 #446
Yes you missed something significant. In order to receive the 20% credit to your Very.co.uk account you must select BNPL. If you didn't select BNPL for whatever reason you won't receive the discount. This is clearly stated everywhere I look. See: http://www.very.co.uk/e/promo/cyber-week-ps4.end.

If you didn't receive the option to select BNPL when you went through the checkout process, the offer of 20% credit to your Very.co.uk is not available to you. BNPL is not automatically offered to everyone and anyone.

Under Consumer Contract Regulations you have 14 days after receipt of goods sent at distance to cancel the contract. You are then obliged to return the goods, at your cost, and the suppliers has to refund you for the goods and basic cost of delivery. The supplier can make a deduction if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than was necessary. The extent to which you can handle the goods is the same as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop. The PS4 Pro is not an exempt item under this law so you are able to return it.

You have to specifically inform the supplier that you are exercising your legal right to cancel. More information at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange specifically the section titled Buying on the web, mail order or from home within.

Very.co.uk also have a 28 day Approval Guarantee but this is different to your 14 day legal right to return most goods (except certain exempt ones) enshrined in consumer law as detailed above. The following is from the returns section on the Very.co.uk web site:

You must clearly communicate your decision to cancel to us before the end of the cancellation period, for example by using the returns note contained in your parcel or by using the model cancellation form in our website returns help pages, which you can send to us via webmail or post. If you cancel, we will reimburse any payment received, including the standard delivery charge, by the original means of payment. Where the goods have not been delivered, the reimbursement will be made within 14 days of the cancellation. Where the goods have been delivered, the reimbursement will be made within 14 days of us receiving the goods back or us receiving evidence that you have returned the goods, whichever is earlier. You are responsible for returning the goods to us if you cancel under these Regulations. If you use our courier to return the goods, you will be responsible for the cost of the return. In such cases, we will deduct the delivery charge from your refund so that you do not have to make a further payment of the collection charge. Additionally, we may make a deduction for any loss in value of the goods arising from any unnecessary handling by you.

My suggestion is you clearly communicate that you wish to cancel the contract with them well within 14 days of receiving them in a way that you can prove you did. I personally would do this by email because it is logged. Then you are responsible for returning the item securely to Very.co.uk, so use a reliable courier and obtain appropriate insurance for the value of the item you're returning.

4 Dec 16 #448

4 Dec 16 #449
I bought slims from argos, mygeek.., shopto zavvi and tesco
Zavvi as usually is crap and probably will cancell it- no stock.
Very in my opinion are misleading with their offer, it shows You could have 3 payments options possibility at the end You have not.
Upgrade to pro will cost me 40 quid with very offer- in exchange to ps4 slim 1TB thats why i tried.
Question is am i need pro?no but for few quid difference could have it.
I do not need their credit (1500) but to use BNPL for 20% discount You have to have it.
Maybe will ask friend for pro purchase at Tesco with his 20% discount.
I add pro to account at Very site, then 2h later cancel it but of course there is no possibility to cancel, send me e-mail item cancelled but i will call them to confirm or send them letter showing their e-mail.

Why am I only given £250 credit and not £1000?
david14
4 Dec 16 #451
Because Very.co.uk currently do not consider you a good enough risk to allocate you a higher spend. Perhaps you have a lot of credit elsewhere.
david14
4 Dec 16 #452
The three payments you are referring to are probably Take 3 - http://www.very.co.uk/take3.page - which is a different credit product to BNPL. It's available to every account holder and splits each purchase into three equal monthly payments. Provided each of those monthly payments is made, and none are missed, no interest is payable.

Thank you. I actually tried to cancel
the order while it was "processing" but it told me it was too late and that I should refuse delivery. Then the delivery came and when I tried to refuse the delivery man told me no, I can't refuse the delivery because he wasn't being paid to take it back and I had to arrange another collection. Does that sound right?
david14
4 Dec 16 #457
I think you may have been within your right to refuse delivery. I assume that's Yodel for us though! You should explicitly inform Very.co.uk by email that you're returning the item unused as is your right to do so under the consumer contract regulations. They should then inform you about how to proceed. Take a photograph of the unopened box and wait for instructions from Very.co.uk. They may be happy for you to take it at a Collect+ point to return for free. See what they write back with.

Not having much fun with this. Ordered on the 28th and it said delivery by the 1st. Great stuff.

1st came and went. Order status still says processing at warehouse. Got them on the phone and the customer support guy said "Definitely by Saturday (3rd)" and that at his end it was just a stock issue which had been sorted.

Now it's the 5th, order status still says delivery by the 1st and that it's being processed at the warehouse. Oh and I'm unable to cancel it because 'their systems update too quickly'. Ironic given it still says the delivery will be by the 1st.

Sure it's fine for some but has been a shambles for me. Customer support either take joy in lying or don't have a clue. Wouldn't ever use them again and will advise anyone else I know to stay clear.

God forbid what happens if an order is complete and it's faulty. Would hate to deal with them again at that stage.

Pro only if you own a 4K TV (or plan to buy one in next 12 months)
Otherwise pro is simply not worth the extra as it doesn't really provide any noticeable improvement on normal TVs.(it even causes worse performance on some games on HD Tvs)

Hi, can anyone please advise. I purchased the ps4 pro at very on the 28th November (first day the 20% offer started) and chose buy now pay later, my £1000 limited got the usual reduction of £349.99 and had an email to say all confirmed and had it delivered to my local Co-op for free delivery which turned up within 2 days of ordering. So far so good, now after reading the comments on here most are saying pay back the full amount after the 20% has been credited back (16th Jan) which I decided I wanted to do which would be £280, thought nothing of it and randomly went into my very account for the first time since ordering on the 28th and it states I have to make a minimum payment of £24.50 by 30th of December or £116.66 take 3 option.
Now I was under the impression to not have to pay anything till I pay it all on the 16th Jan (or as soon as it's credited back)
Have I done everything correct? Should I pay the £24.50? I suppose I have to but just worried that I've not done something right and voided the offer is everyone else in the same boat here? Sorry if it's a daft question but this is the first and only thing I've ever had on credit, only did it because it worked out at £280.
Thanks in advance

It looks like your purchase didn't go through as BNPL which is normal credit purchase. Double check your statement again if it mentioned about BNPL on page 2. Minimum payment and take 3 for normal credit purchase. There shouldn't be a minimum payment for BNPL. I just checked mine which is no minimum payment.

logon to very go to my account, then go to transaction history... mine says this..

Summary of your Buy Now Pay Later Purchases:

Statement date - Statement number - Balance
May 2017 (Statement 7) - Balance £349.99 - You Can Avoid The Interest On These Buy Now Pay Later Item(s) By Paying The Balance By 09 Jun 2017

I did notice I was offered a take 3 option on the 3.99 postage I was forced to pay to get it delivered, but obvs ignored it and paid the 3.99 in full. just waiting till January now.

Point is... if you've picked BNPL correctly, it should say so in transaction history. Confusing isn't it? I wonder if anyone from Very themselves has monitored this thread, people find buying with them quite confusing to the point of not trusting going for the offer, on purpose perhaps?? Seems like a weird way to run a sales business to me.

I had an email today too saying I had £28 or so to pay this month or I could change to their pay over 3 months. I was sure I had selected BNPL and thought there were no payments for 12 months then balance due? Either way I was waiting for my 20% credit then pay the balance but does this meant that's they've switched mine too and the 20% won't come my way?

Checked their help pages : "Can I use Buy Now Pay Later and Take 3 at the same time?

No, Take 3 doesn't apply to anything bought on Buy Now Pay Later terms."

so this implies that if they're offering take 3 then it's not BNPL which it very much was 2 weeks ago

I got a statement email a few days ago and just checked it now for you guys, mine still shows as BNPL as far as I can tell. Did you follow the instructions in the email about your statement? on my account it shows..

Thanks for the tip. I'd been relying on the summaries without downloading/viewing the full PDF statement. No evidence there that my purchase went in as a BNPL. From Decembers statement showing "things you don't have to pay for yet: ps pro" I thought that meant it was BNPL.

So this will be a fun conversation today. No evidence on my part that I did it in the first place and none in statement history to show they have changed it.

I thought I would update everyone on my experience, due to having the same issue as others (purchase was not on BNPL, even though I qualified and selected this option). I called Very and got informed there was a mistake; the rep transferred the order to BNPL, which I can now clearly see in my account. I also got informed that the 20% credit is due on the 31st of January. The rep did say I need to pay the invoice received, and this is still the case when looking at my account online. Which I admit, does not really make sense due to my account now clearly stating on the transactions tab "You Can Avoid The Interest On These Buy Now Pay Later Item(s) By Paying The Balance By 22 Dec 2017". I will keep an eye on things and may call them again in a couple of days. As it stands, I will pay the invoice to keep the account in good standing, but I will only be paying the item off in full after I get the 20% back. But at the moment I am happy, as I have had the 20% credit confirmed and the item is now definately on BNPL. If anyone is not getting the BNPL clearly stated on the transaction tab, then give Very a call.

I will keep this comment section updated to help others that have been having the same issues.

Good luck!

I think I'm still on shaky ground but spoke to a helpful lady this morning. She transferred my ps pro to BNPL and said I no longer have any minimum payment to make this month. I reiterated that my priority was to ensure that I qualified for the 20% as I selected BNPL at the time of ordering and she's put an email through to the relevant department (allegedly) to tell them that I should get it but couldn't be 100%. The BNPL shows up on my account now though (didn't before the call) to show "transferred to BNPL 5th Jan".

There's a possibility they will say "it wasn't BNPL originally and only became so on 5th Jan so you aren't having the 20%" but we'll see...

I had also been put on the wrong payment plan and have just called them to switch it (online chat were nice enough but the system won't let them help so it's a waste of time)

The lady I spoke to switched mine to buy now pay later and she said I will definitely receive the 20% credit by Jan 16th, but I won't be convinced until I see it.

Yes I'd say if you look like that you're fine. Mine didn't but after I called them it did. Roll on next week so we can find out if we have to fight for the 20% or if it was surprisingly straightforward. I've had so many issues with companies the last few months I'm gearing up for a fight to get it.

Quick update for those that might be worrying. (Scan upwards for my progress so far)

I received a letter yesterday. "Thank you for contacting Very about the promotional offer, upon checking your account I can confirm that the 20% off your item will be applied on 16th Jan, this will be reflected on your next or following statement".

I'm all for attacking a company when they deserve it but to receive that was a very pleasant surprise and they didn't have to do that. This is the lady I spoke to taking onboard my concerns that belatedly converting from a regular purchase to a BNPL would affect the offer and putting my mind at rest.

Well played Very

I'll wait till the 17th - it did say they would email you when the discount was applied, truth be told I've hardly played on it since I bought it. Doh! Played loads on my old console, buy this, and it's hardly been on. irony.

Mine has been BNPL since the start and I've received no credits as yet.

From my calculation, on my £204.99 watchdogs package, I should be due £40.99 back.

Carl: Hi, I bought a Playstation console in November because of your 20% back deal, the terms stated that by the 16th January that the 20% would be credited back to my account but this has not been done.
Melissa: Hi there, Carl, I hope you are well.
Melissa: Don't worry, eligible will receive the cash back by close of business today.
Carl: I do hope so.
Carl: Close of business, is 5pm or 11pm?
Melissa: That is 11pm. Don't worry Carl, I can assure you it will be credited.
Carl: Very well, thanks

My PS4 Pro is BNPL and I am waiting for the 20% credit to my account. I have however received a 10% credit for a MacBook Pro, this evening from Very.co.uk, ordered on the same date, which I was also waiting for.

Still waiting here too. What's worrying is that when i look at my account, there is a statement saying "29/12/2016 Payment received £20.00 - Thank you"

relax guys, I'm sure this makes me sound naive but they're a large business, I doubt they are in the business of conning people advertising deals then not fulfilling the offer. We're all on BNPL so what's the rush. All I'm saying is relax and give them a chance to apply the discount, if it's not applied by the end of the week then yeah, hell to pay. Did it specifically state in the offer at the time it would be applied by the 16th January or just "in January" ? I don't know but I'm sure some of you know.

If they don't apply the offer and EVERYONE has to contact them to get the deal, then I think we should collectively complain to trading standards and let BBC watchdog know.

But for now, Frankie says relax!

I've still not had the credit yet, I got onto chat this morning and they said they would send an internal email to get it put on and I will see it on the next statement on 29th, not sure I believe them though. I have also sent an email to the Shopdirect CEO detailing things in the hope that someone with some authority picks it up and sorts it out. I spoke to somebody on webchat yesterday. They confirmed all amounts will be credited by the 25th. For those who are worried, log into your account and check the Summary section to see if it has any mention of a payment due in January. If it does, there's a good chance you're on the 3 installment plan instead of Buy now pay later. Go onto webchat and mention this and they should be able to change you over to the BNPL. It worked for a friend. Failing that, customer services on the phone will do it as mentioned above.

If thats fine, then then next step is to wait until the 25th for a refund to your very credit. It should come down from £350 to £280 give or take a penny or two. If that doesn't happen then get on webchat.

Actually that's not completely true. This was confirmed in an earlier chat conversation with Very and they said it was 47 days from date of purchase I believe. That made it the 16th for those who bought it on the day the deal went live. I think if you bought it after that point, you need to wait a bit longer. But see comment above about a recent conversation RE the 25th

JinKazamaDor
19 Jan 17 #609
it's ok I was the same. it's a bit tricky.

go into make a payment and select the BNPL on the left. it'll show your ps4 pro and 349 to the right side of the screen. if this is the case you need to start a Web chat and say the following.

" I was credited 20% to my account via the ps4 promotion before christmas but it wasn't deducted from the total in the payment section...only on my balance screen"

then request to have the credited balance deducted from you BNPL payment screen so it reduces to 280.

in simple terms.. there is a balance screen..and a payment section..both independent of each other.. don't ask me why..it makes no sense to me on this occasion.
invis
20 Jan 17 #610
To everyone & @hukd_addict

Sorry to confuse everyone in simple terms once you get your discount head over to make a payment then pay buy now pay later. What you will find its still at its full amount so for me it was £350 even though I had been give £70 from them. It seems the only way to get the discount added to the BNPL is by calling them or using web chat. once they do this you will find your bnpl has been reduced you can then go clear it :-)

if your getting confused don't worry we allllll are as the Very site and the way they deal with bnpl and your credit account is stupid!!! its two separate things!!

Eg. So lets say you want to clear your credit account once you got your discount by making a payment even though it would show your account at full credit making it look like your all clear your NOT. If you head to the bnpl screen you will see its still siting there.... counting down to sting you come end of year (maybe that's how they get you....... make it confusing on purpose)
If you do what I said you will be all good :-) as some of us have got on web chat and got them to transfer the discount to the bnpl and then we clear it by making a payment on the bnpl (second tab in payment screen)
Not gana lie I'm gana keep a eye on my very account all year because....
Ps asked them why I couldn't add the discount to the bnpl myself? And why the credit account & bnpl are two separate things?... Response we will put this to our web team.
invis
20 Jan 17 #611
:-) no problem happy it helped you all (was in two minds if I should post this or not! As I didn't want to seem like I was going on & on... as this was the very thing I was worried about a few pages ago! No pun intended :stuck_out_tongue: )

Can't be to upset though as they have come through with a fantastic deal! Its just mixed in with crap web design or sneaky credit accounts... ill let you decide :-)

Ps Hachi Mishima ftw opop ;-)

The way I did it was I approached the CS rep like it was a normal payment I made. I sais " I need some help please, I recently had a payment of £69.99 credited to my account, but I need it to be transferred to my BNPL account please."

When I asked about future payments going on BNPL I was advised :-

"When making a payment online, you will be given a drop down with an option of where you want the payment to go. Just select Buy Now Pay Later, and that payment will be target to your Buy Now Pay Later."

Or contact them after making a payment.

(Aha my competitive tekken days ended from 1-5. #6 depressed me although ttt2 was amazing. thanks for the offer though  )

I got an email saying I didn't qualify for the 20% as I didn't choose the BNPL option,
I have replied back and awaiting a reply, I won't let them get away with it.

"...I won't let them get away with it." - what are you actually going to do if they tell you where to go?

If you didn't select BNPL or they didn't offer you BNPL so it wasn't there to select then this is how it was. Your error.

22 Jan 17 #621
Or 3rd option: he was offered it, chose it and for some reason they put it through differently. Why attack him? If I don't get mine I'm not planning to let it lie either.

Hope you get it sorted DaRock. I've had a letter and a web chat saying I'll get it but no sign yet so news of your email is worrying (as if it has got to the department handling the credits and they've overruled the customer service people).

lol no probs and my competitive days were over long ago... to much to play to get very good at one game

Also strange that the you didn't get discount applied to bnpl there and then... for me in web chat the CS rep did it while i was in chat! he just sent a form over to ask for permission in chat then done! Maybe the rep you talked to Didnt know what they were doing. Go through on chat again and make em do it.

Yah I had it in mind to do it again when I got to work and have done it now. Yes the guy in chat did it for me but this time I took the above mentioned approach of stating ambiguously that there was a:

"Payment of £69.99 made to my account and I wish to apply it to my BNPL"

instead of:

"I received 20% back through a promotion and want it applied to my BNPL"

It worked as you said in the moment of chatting.

Originally I was told "wait 48 hours for our other dept to do it" - words to that effect.

In summary:

Indeed, use this reasoning to accomplish the corrected payment owed:
""A payment of £69.99 was made to my account on the 17th and I wish to apply it to my BNPL"

Then double and triple check with them that there are no other payments needed, it is just £280 (for the Pro) so that it is down in writing should it not be there on refresh and they try to argue it later.

In conclusion. Yay! In Addition, PSVR Arrived! In Add-Addition, RESI 7 is out today!

Shinkuuuuuu....YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!

Hello, you're chatting with Mark, one of Very's online customer service experts, how may I help you today?

Me at 21:25, Jan 23:

Hi, I would like to apply my £73.99 Cash Back Promotional Credit to my recent Buy Now Pay Later order of the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro with Watchdogs 2, ordered on 28 November 2016 at 18:01:21 Order Number: XXXXXXXXXX Order Total: £369.99

Mark at 21:27, Jan 23:
Please allow me a moment to read the information you have provided.

Mark at 21:27, Jan 23:
Just to confirm Sir the cash back you looking at is that a deal on the website?

Me at 21:28, Jan 23:

I have already received the cashback in my account

Me at 21:28, Jan 23:

It was part of an offer, 20% cashback when you buy a PS4 Pro. It was around the Christmas time

Mark at 21:28, Jan 23:
I am sorry Sir the cash back goes onto the account and not the BNPL unless there is no other items on the account instead of the BNPL.

Me at 21:29, Jan 23:

I do not wish to pay the full price of £369.99

Me at 21:30, Jan 23:

I wish to pay off my BNPL, but with the discounted price. Which should be £296

Mark at 21:31, Jan 23:
I completely understand however it still goes on the account Sir and it helps with the minimum payment each month and pays on the account so you just would have the BNPL available to pay.

Me at 21:32, Jan 23:

I don't understand

Me at 21:32, Jan 23:

Are you saying I have to pay the full £369.99?

Mark at 21:33, Jan 23:
The cash back amount would go onto the account and would reduce the amount on the account Sir that how the cash back works.

Me at 21:33, Jan 23:

So what amount do I need to pay?

Me at 21:34, Jan 23:

I just want to pay my PS4 off in one go

Mark at 21:35, Jan 23:
I completely understand Sir but the BNPL you can still wait to pay as it does have a payment free period and you can pay the whole amount close to the maturity date to avoid interest as where the minimum payment has interest and you would pay that off sooner.

Me at 21:36, Jan 23:

What amount do I need to pay?

Mark at 21:37, Jan 23:
I will have a look on the account for you and if you do not have a minimum amount the cash back would then go next to the BNPL on the account Sir.

Me at 21:38, Jan 23:

Have a look and tell me what amount I need to pay.

Me at 21:39, Jan 23:

And I'd like a log of this chat sent to me

Mark at 21:40, Jan 23:
No worries I will have a look for you Sir.

Mark at 21:40, Jan 23:
May I send you a secure pop up form, it will allow me to get access to your account please?

Me at 21:40, Jan 23:

Yes

Mark at 21:40, Jan 23:
Perfect, I will be sending the form straight away.

Mark at 21:51, Jan 23:
Mark has sent you a Secure Form: Account Verification form

Mark at 21:40, Jan 23:
I have sent the form and you will be receiving it shortly.

Mark at 21:51, Jan 23:
The following Secure Form has been submitted: Account Verification form

Mark at 21:41, Jan 23:
Thank you so much for completing the form.

Mark at 21:43, Jan 23:
Please allow me a moment to look into this for you.

Mark at 21:48, Jan 23:
Upon checking the account it showing that you just have the BNPL on the account Sir and there is no other amount to be paid, so the cash back promotion credit will reflect on the next statement taken from the BNPL amount.

Me at 21:48, Jan 23:

Which will be when?

Mark at 21:51, Jan 23:
Upon checking the account the statement would be produced close to the end of the month Sir.

Me at 21:52, Jan 23:

And then by the end of the month if I go to "Make a Payment", it should allow me to pay the reduced price?

Mark at 21:53, Jan 23:
Yes that is correct it just needs to update on the next statement.

Me at 21:53, Jan 23:

What price will it show?

Mark at 21:55, Jan 23:
The amount it will show is £296.00 Sir.

Mark at 21:57, Jan 23:
I haven't heard from you for a while. Are you still there?

Me at 21:57, Jan 23:

Yes

Me at 21:57, Jan 23:

Seems all a bit ambiguous haha, but I think the key here is to do what several of us have done now without problems and that is to not mention the promotion at all, just state there was a payment made on the date you got the cashback. Then say you wish to transfer it.

If a promotion is mentioned it seems they try to weasel out of it or in my original case simply not do it when they say they would.

Finding another assistant and referring to it as a generic payment seems to be the way to go!

Vanelee: Hello, you're chatting with Vanelee, one of Very's online customer service experts, how can I better your day?

Craig McDonald: Hi awaiting feedback from enquiry 13011362-1484841687
Vanelee:
I am so sorry about this Craig. May I have more information on the query?

Craig McDonald: Was rejected cashback on my PS4 PRO order as You say I did not choose BNPL offer
Vanelee:
Oh dear! I am so sorry about this. I will be more than happy to look into this for you.

Craig McDonald: I did choose it and was changed on my account
Vanelee:
In order for me to help you I will need to access your account. I will need to send you a form to complete over the live chat. Is that okay?

Craig McDonald: ok
Vanelee:
Perfect! I'll get right on that for you.

Vanelee:
Please complete this and send it back to me.

Vanelee:
Brilliant, thank you very much for completing the form. Will you be so kind to spare me a moment to access your account?

Craig McDonald: No problem thanks
Vanelee:
Thank you so much for your kind patience.

Vanelee: May I ask what was the item you were meant to be getting the cash back on?
Craig McDonald: Playstation Pro 1tb Console
Vanelee:
Thank you so much for confirming this for me.

Craig McDonald: Item No. KPURP15
Vanelee:
Thank you, I am just checking.

Vanelee:
Looking at when you ordered this item it first went on to 80 weeks not buy now pay later and for this cash back to be given to you you need to do the order online and get the item on buy now pay later at the point of the order I'm afraid.

Craig McDonald: I did choose BNPL
Vanelee:
I'm afraid this did not go on buy now pay later check statement number 71 it was put over 80 weeks.

Craig McDonald: Other here have same problem
Craig McDonald: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/cyber-monday-ps4-pro-279-99-after-20-off-for-credit-accounts-very-plus-possible-2561199?p=29893080
Vanelee:
The PlayStation item is the one that was put on 80 weeks not buy now pay later I'm afraid.

Craig McDonald: People are getting there cashback
Vanelee:
Yes you will get it if you done it correctly.

Craig McDonald: I did
Vanelee:
This I'm afraid was not done correctly.

Craig McDonald: I should suffer for your bad system
Vanelee:
No Craig as advised please check your statement number 71.

Craig McDonald: shouldnt
Vanelee:
It was first ordered then transferred to buy now pay later.

Craig McDonald: That was later after you realized it was an error
Vanelee:
For you to get the cashback or qualify for it the order needs to be put on buy now pay later when you order it not transferred.

Craig McDonald: I did select it as i said
Craig McDonald: Why would i order when i can get cheaper?
Vanelee:
You must have done it really wrong as it was not on buy now pay later you can see this for yourself on statement number 71.

Craig McDonald: Can you speak to manager?
Vanelee:
Have a look.

Vanelee:
I wish I could but this is an online offer this can not be applied by anyone here

Craig McDonald: Then I want to return it
Craig McDonald: its used but i dont want to suffer out of this bad advertising
Vanelee:
You welcome to do this Craig I can not advise you what you should do but this was definitley not on buy now pay later and this you can see for yourself on your current statement.

Craig McDonald: The statement is shown after i buy so how can i see
Vanelee:
You can see it on statement 71.

Craig McDonald: I chose BNPL at the time
Vanelee:
It says on 80 weeks.

Vanelee:
No you did not take a look.

Craig McDonald: sey after purchase
Vanelee:
No just look at statement 71.

Craig McDonald: So can i see that statement after its too late?
Craig McDonald: deal is over and i have overpriced item
Craig McDonald: There must be something you can do
Vanelee:
The fault was not on our end Craig the statement tells you that you did not put the item on buy now pay later that is why you are not getting the cash back that is the only reason.

Craig McDonald: Then you get item back and no custom from me
Craig McDonald: can you confirm i can return used item and get my £100 already paid towards item please?
Vanelee:
I am truly sorry about this Craig that you feel this way but this is not something we done wrong you just did not pick the correct payment option at the point of the order.

Craig McDonald: Was only two options and i selected the correct one
Vanelee: If you did then you would be getting the cash back.
Craig McDonald: Why you cant just do cashback and keep customer is bizarre
Craig McDonald: can you confirm by email that i can return used item and get my £100 already paid towards item please?
Vanelee:
Then that would be unfair to every other customer who went out of their way to order it correctly.

Vanelee:
If it is used then it is non returnable Craig you can not send an item you already used back.

Craig McDonald: Its your bad buying system
Craig McDonald: So im shafted?
Vanelee: There is nothing misleading as you could have come to us for help when you placed the order to make sure it was done correctly.
Craig McDonald: If i done that with everything then I will never get work done
Craig McDonald: Why cant you just make me happy customer
Vanelee:
Well if you did want the cash back you would not really have much of a choice as you would then want to make sure everything is in order.

Craig McDonald: would buy again
Craig McDonald: must be something you can do
Vanelee:
If we lived in a perfect world then yes I could do everything and anything you make you happy but this is just an online offer I have no access to this I'm afraid it is all done online.

Craig McDonald: I would rather use you again and avoid going though account cancellation
Craig McDonald: Then can you action account clossure please?
Vanelee:
You would first need to clear the account and then we can close it for you.

Craig McDonald: Its absolute rubbish that you cant honor cashback
Vanelee:
We can if it was our mistake this was all you Craig not us.

Craig McDonald: True that i hear people say what a crap company you are
Vanelee:
If we messed it up then by all means we can fix it but this has nothing to do with us.

Craig McDonald: dishonest deals
Vanelee:
Well everyone is entitled to their own option don"t you think?

Craig McDonald: Yes lots of terrible things i hear on Hotukdeals and now i know why
Craig McDonald: one more bad review to come
Vanelee: Entirely up to you as I can not understand why you upset and you did not order it correctly not us?
Vanelee:
Is there anything else I can do for you?

Craig McDonald: Truly pathetic, i am telling you i chose the correct option as i am not retarded
Craig McDonald: sort your own system out first
Vanelee:
No one here said you are but the proof is in front of you on your statement that you did not put it on the buy now pay later and this is just a mistake.

Vanelee:
The system is fine as there are loads of customer who have happily received the cash back.

Craig McDonald: proof after ordering that you can change
Vanelee:
No that is the hole point of doing it online so no one else but you can change it.

Craig McDonald: very dodgy customer service who really dont give a dam
Craig McDonald: Well thanks for letting me down with lies
Vanelee: You are well aware as you can see it on your statement you did it wrong and you still going on like this it still going to get you nowhere and no cash back Craig .
Vanelee:
I am sorry you feel let down but it is normal to make such a mistake maybe you will get it right the next offer that comes your way.

Vanelee: Is there anything else I can do for you?
Craig McDonald: Oh **** off patronizing me
Craig McDonald: I chose correct and your system screwed up so i will pay off now and never deal with you again
Vanelee:
I am sorry you feel that way but that is the truth and if I told you anything more I would be lying to you.

Vanelee:
Is there anything else I can do for you?

Craig McDonald: Can you fix your system?
Vanelee:
There is nothing wrong with the system as advised Craig.

Craig McDonald: Just payed and now nil on account
Craig McDonald: can you delete account please?
Vanelee: Certainly.
Vanelee:
The account has been closed now successfully and you will received the confirmation of this within the post as well.

Vanelee:
Anything else I can do?

Craig McDonald: Good riddance
Craig McDonald: Bye
Vanelee:

Me too. I was nervous of rushing through it and made absolutely sure I was choosing BNPL. no sign of mine yet but the letter said it would show on this statement or next. Nothing showing online so you guys have me worried I've still got a fight on my hands. Sending me that letter could work out to be really useful for me. Statement is due this weekend so will be in touch with them next week when the £69.99 inevitably doesn't appear.

I've had phone and web chat advice that I don't have to pay a minimum monthly since it was belatedly converted to BNPL. Didn't stop them texting yesterday to say "you haven't paid us this month".

Good luck everyone still fighting. I'll keep you posted on my progress...

That is shocking mate. I actually think they are trying to take the pee in the end. Lets say you DID actually screw the order up, by virtue of the time of ordering and you quoting this thread, you can prove you were aware of the deal? ( I don't suppose you commented here before you ordered as well?) I think they should have honored this for you. Especially after you telling them that it was wrong ages ago (if you had only noticed now I'd have said be less careless actually) I think they wouldn't have the capability to apply the discount, but they have 2nd line queries for that stuff - I was a littlewoods query handler when I was 16. Weekend job, and while the systems have no doubt changed since the late 90s they could have done something for you on this. You might want to be done with this now but check this https://www.resolver.co.uk/companies/very-co-uk-complaints/contact-details-b and maybe fire an email to watchdog. Check this too http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3118102 - I wouldn't personally let it go, it's the principle.

Can you imagine if the consumer had the power to not pay for stuff based on this weak nitpicking? "Yeah I don't need to pay for this item as you said it would be delivered before 12 noon, it's now 4 minutes past" or "yeah I don't need to pay for this coat, the model in the photo wearing it has different coloured eyebrows to me so it's inaccurate" ha!

This is all so complicated! There are some shady business types that work for these huge companies.
I paid off my outstanding debt for my PS4 a few minutes ago. I'm just hoping that I didn't make any mistakes! I went to make a payment/buy now pay later.
The last time that I looked, a few days ago it still said £349.99. Today the 20% discount had been taken off my my bill. I didn't ask them to move discount to my BNPL, it was just added.

I do have some reassuring text in my account details, it says - "Your Latest Payment Of £280.00 Settles The Outstanding Cash Price Of £280.00 On The Playstation Pro 1tb Console - Buy Now Pay Later - Nov 2017 (Statement 30), So You Will Not Be Charged Any Interest"

Fingers crossed, that's the end of it.

I am very happy with Very.co.uk (no pun intended!).

I received my PS4 Pro cash back and also my MacBook Pro cash back without difficulty. I sent Very.co.uk an email asking them to allocate the cash back to some of my BNPL items setting out how I wanted the funds allocated. I just received an email reply stating they would do this and it was how I had asked, but taking into account a minor minimum payment adjustment they were also covering with the funds. No need to go into an irritating chatroom and waste my time with someone there. One well written email by me and a nice well written reply and all done. Very.co.uk happy.

Same here. Despite the screenshot saying 6/12/16 and my order at the end of November, they're saying you have to order by 17th November - I imagine there is some unforeseen small print, which I missed. It's only £70, so I won't use them again

Had to ring up several times and spend a few hours on the phone to finally get someone to call me back, apologise and apply the 20% off to the second console (first one went through OK).

Not sure whether I will ever order from them again.

Still waiting but in good spirits. I waited for the January statement on 28th (this offer went live 28th Nov and I was a new customer so 28th is my statement date). No sign. Just had a web chat. He says there's a backlog with the accounts department but the notes on my account and letter I received show I will get it (i.e. it's been investigated and the decision has already been made, just waiting for accounts to do their bit), so stop worrying and be patient (said nicely). I've agreed to wait it out but said I'd chase them start of March if it doesn't appear on the Feb statement.

Will still be happier when I see it for myself and until I do, there's a strong chance someone will overrule everything that precedes it but have to have faith and believe what I've been told.

If you're not sure if you chose BNPL check your emails at the time of purchase. You should have something indicating how you chose to pay. A friend had this problem and his emails differed to mine because he must had inadvertantly chose the wrong one, or Very set him up incorrectly. Either way he got an email about the method Very set up so if it was wrong you should have contacted them earlier.
chrisroth
30 Jan 17 #650
In my case I am a new customer. The email I received says nothing about how I chose to pay, just that a PS Pro had been ordered with the price and estimated delivery date. You and your mate were able to compare emails and see a difference. If it had gone wrong for both of you, how would you have known anything was wrong? That's the situation for someone without someone to compare against and no previous experience of Very. It'd be lovely to have contacted them sooner but no alarm bells were ringing so...

I too purchased 2 separately via BNPL. The process was meticulous and they are claiming only 1 was on BNPL.

I expect it is to do with some payments I made after the purchases were made, allocating all to one console and paying it off.

If I ever deal with this company again it will be under extreme duress and with a screen recorder saving every moment of the process.

Woo and indeed Hooo. Just had an email and an update to my account that £70 has been applied (20% of 349.99) as a credit... Only 2 weeks later than advertised.

Will leave it all on BNPL for a few months (money sat in my account but I'll keep it there) then face the challenge of getting them to use that credit against the BNPL.

Good luck anyone still waiting.

when you make a payment, you can select where the payment goes, BNPL or your "normal" account so I'm told.

Just paid my £164 to clear my account. Not bad for a 1tb slim with watch dogs 1+2.

I was having troubles and tried submitting a complaint and using live chat to get my cashback. Called in and they sorted it out without a problem. Don't waste your time and call in.

Just had my latest bill and it it applied the 20% cashback automatically off my BNPL amount.

I received cashback for 2 PS4s I ordered, but check this out, I've only got 1 PS4 as BNPL, so my other PS4 is praying normally (interest). I'm calling them now, I definitely ordered with BNPL specifically checked the orders aswell, emails make no mention of payment methods.

The only way to get 20% off was to use as BNPL, this will be interesting...

Lol, this could go one of (at least) 2 ways. Hopefully they don't say "oh yeah, you shouldn't have had the 20% on that one as it's not BNPL". Good example of solving an issue but completely the wrong way!

7 Feb 17 #662
Oh boy, this will be fun....I didn't get my £100 cashback on another order either, and that's not set up as a BNPL either.....grrr

7 Feb 17 #663
Just spoke to them after they called me back 6 hours later !

They said the PS4's are both BNPL (great)
However the mobo is not, so they said they could switch it to 12 months BNPL, but I asked about the cashback they said no because that period is gone....

They said to email them the offer and they would reimburse me (I don't believe her).

I've given up on getting this back from them. However I just wanted to add my purchase is tracking at around £280 (bought a pro at £350) via quidco so clearly very initially expected my purchase to receive 20% cashback. Furthermore very are stating I was always in the three payment option yet my first invoice said I owed around £17 which isn't a third of £350.

This business practice is absolutely disgusting. I have called them no less then 5 times. Been told the rebate will go through in 14 days. Now told they have rejected it, as they needed a promotion code, which no one has asked me for. If i had known I would have paid off the whole amount sooner, rather then getting charged fees and interest. So paid almost 400 in the end for a 350 retail product. What a deal.

Ive put a formal complain to them and I'm going to pursue this to the Trading Standards Commission and ombudsman if they don't answer. Does anyone have any more evidence like screenshots etc and wants to get involved?

Ask to escalate to a manager and insist that there was no promotion code required.
There is a screenshot of T&Cs for the promotion.

Good luck.
