This is a decent piece of kit for the money, MMC Storage and Gen8 Intel Atom, as well as USB Type C connectivity! Cameras aren't that great to be honest, but otherwise a solid little machine.

Not a bad price.
Anyone know what the custom charges are like once imported in?

people who get stung by customs seem to be the ones who go for anything other than standard delivery.
I've had 15+ tablets, phones, android boxes and never been charged.

Looks good bit of kit, only reservation would be to order from china, anyone know of something similar from the uk, could also do with slightly bigger screen size?

Voted hot as comes with 4gb ram plus keyboard. Full HD screen. Add customs as well to the price. Android version is old.

1. If you were stung by customs what would you roughly pay?
2. What sort of guarantee will you get if paid by PayPal / Credit card?
Thanks

I ordered the Chuwi Hi12 a while back for my daughter and she loves it. I was only able to try it for a few days before she went to uni but was impressed. The customs declaration on the invoice outside of the package was for something very low and do no additional duty pay - maybe I was lucky.
Anyway she has just asked me to order the keyboard, so must be happy with it.
Hope this helps someone who is undecided. My daughter actually wanted the surface tablet but it was a little expensive. Not as good obviously, with just an atom processor, but still a very capable tablet and dual boot is a bonus.
Maybe it makes more sense to buy a second hand laptop from a well known manufacturer than to spend money on such rubbish - "Chuwi" lol

yeah some stupid names out there, Onkyo, Samsung, LG (Goldstar). Some of these brands are huge in China, Xiaomi, Chuwi, Doogee, Ondaand most of these are probably the companies that
make the gear for top end brands and copy them. All brands have to start off somewhere

Chuwi produce quality goods, I've bought tons of their tablets and they're all very good. Laughing at how funny you imagine the name to be only shows how insular and snall -minded you are.

@big_sausage
Understand where you're coming from, however if you actually try one as I have, it is a well built mini-laptop and is better than 1080p resolution screen. On a 15inch screen laptop, try finding that for less than £400 ! A 2nd hand badged equivalent would be more expensive and less specced

18 Nov 16#13
At the moment, it's between this, the Ezbook 2 and a Cube i7 or i9. Pretty hard to find anything with these combinations of specs. HD screen/4gb ram/14" or less/decent cpu and a decent battery. If the price came down a bit the Xiaomi Air laptops would be really tempting, too.

I agree....some people just dont research 'new names' (even though Chuwi are established and get generally good reviews) and think only old establishished 'well known' brands are worth buying...same happened with SJcam and Hisense when they first came out....there was also an idiot on here a week or 2 ago saying 'Onkyo' were an unknown brand

chuwi stuff is well made. however I'd still be wary of buying stuff direct from China. I used to but alot of stuff from dealextreme and gearbest and most of it has either packed up or in one case exploded

Yes thats the risk you run ...I have never actually used Gearbest but have used Aliexpress and Bangood many times...bought my Hikvision (another 'unknown' make to most people but VERY well regarded by those in the know) CCTV POI system from Aliexpress a couple of years ago for a fraction of the UK price and its been excellent.
but I agree if you value warranty support and ease of returns etc above all else best to to buy local.

Personally I would get this one from your local Argos as Quidco are doing 10% cashback for fast track orders and any issues pop it back to Argos.
I got one for a mate and the build quality is good and the surface like kick stand works well. If I hadn't just got a refurbished i5 4300y powered Venue 11 pro from MCS I would have been tempted myself.

That's not the same tablet I linked to  The one at Argos is the new Atom X5 and also has 4GB ram like the one mentioned in this deal BUT unlike a lot around the £200 UK retailer price point of Windows 10 tablets that only have 2GB ram and like I say any issues pop it back to Argos :man:
Fwiw I used a previous generation Atom Venue 11 pro hooked up to a full HD monitor, keyboard etc and it managed all basic computing tasks, light web development etc fine and these new X5s are meant to be a decent improvement again and the one I got and set up for my mate felt like it was.
