Anyone remember getting Modern Warfare 2 at launch from Sainsburys for £26 back in the day?

I've bought every cod since cod4 but I refuse to buy this no matter what price they put it down to

I've heard awful reviews about the game - but will be playing through the campaign regardless. Tbh, my second copy will probably go to a friend - I have a bunch of unsavvy friends and it would pain me to know they'd pay full RRP for this game :innocent:

Is it really worth supporting this crap game just to make a few extra quid? Let this franchise die already.

Anyone know the performance difference in PS4 using SSHD hybrid drive v.s. SSD?

I upgraded to 256GB SSD few months ago from default HDD, notice big improvement in loading time.

256GB is running low.

But I do not want to spend £200 on a 1TB SSD.


Therefore, I am considering 1TB SSHD hybrid drive instead. Anyone is using SSHD and can comment if SSHD is noticeably slower than SSD in PS4?

The negative posters haven't actually said why they think this game isn't any good and unless I get a decent reason for not trying to get this deal then I'm off to Sainsburys tomorrow to give it a go, Cheers OP :smile:

Thanks op, just picked up both GTA 5 and COD at Sainsburys Darnley. No GTA left on the shelf but they got me one at the desk. COD was marked up as £43.99 but scanned at £23.99. My nephew will be chuffed.

Just picked up Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition from London Putney Sainsbury's for £24... They didn't put a price ticket out for it and the manager honoured the sale.

Get the item scanned. It is definitely this price everywhere but maybe the ticket just hasn't been updated.

Although make sure the correct barcode is scanned, a display case could have the wrong one on and show full price

I wish this was the case. But its not. They made the Modern Warfares, which were brilliant, then everyone complained that they "keep making the same trash", so then they started introducing BS jetpacks, space maps and lazer guns (and psychic powers?!). They should really go back to normal modern warfare.

North Cheam store does have it in store but took them forever to find it - very cocky staff members come out of the woodwork when deals like this appear as think they know all stock and deals the store has to offer.

You need the Legacy edition for the remastered, which around £40 odd pound as of now (I think). It is defiantly more but worth it Cod 4 remastered is amazing. Maybe wait till tonight or tomorrow I'm guessing it may drop in price

I just ordered the tesco £29 deal for my son. There's a few comments here saying MW remaster is not included. Is confirmed fact and if so, which version does include it ?

I'm tempted to try that as an alternative this year as I've been hearing lots of good things about it from online reviews/coverage/forums/random and xbox friends are generally playing BF1 than IW.

I thought there would be some sort of balance to the teams, but soon got a harsh awakening when time after time I found myself surrounded by newbie teammates and always up against teams full of experienced players - sucks, and will only lead to more peeps abandoning CoD.

Maybe peeps just don't have the money, what with austerity, wages freeze, rising prices etc - maybe that's the reason they've held off in the hope of cheap prices on Black Friday.

Certainly, right across the video game industry games/console sales have been dropping steadily since 2008.

I thought about the S, but like the vast majority of gamers I jumped back to Playstation.
I saw the youtube noisy fan issues with the S, and that coupled with the fact there are almost twice as many players on PS4 as there is on XB1, was enough to finally convince me to go PS4.

Voted HOT but as an avid COD player over the years, it's going to have to drop further before I consider buying. I just CBA with it these days - it's the same old rehashed format that I'd rather try other franchises for a change.

as of tonight CeX are offering £26 cash or £32 store credit on ps4 and selling it on at £45 - i took the cash as they are hella overpriced. see how long that lasts tomorrow, but i think i got £3's worth of entertainment out of it (bought tesco £29)

It is a good deal for that price. It doesn't beat Battlefield for multi player but normally the campaigns are good for COD, just the multi player that really lets it down since modern warfare releases (apart from zombies which is always great).

If this was including the remastered MW I would have paid up to £30 and been there like a shot... but for more future-war sh*te I just can't be arsed.

lot of reviews have banged on about how it's above average for the CoD series but the Mp is same as ever, the singleplayer is far worse than bo3 (or any of be black ops) and has annoying side missions that are simple timesinks. not tried the zombies yet though it's meant to be less brutal than bo3's.

CeX still offering £26 cash for it, i might shift my copy to beat the rush.

This is better than ghosts and advanced warfare but worse than the rest. Battlefield 1 is fine but gets boring quickly, especially with the specialist packages you can pick up. For COD I only play the multiplayer and it's decent, well worth this asking price. At least this year you can unlock weapons by playing instead of only being able to get them from supply drops.

I've been playing since call of duty 2 on Xbox 360. The franchise is slowly dying away due to this horrendous boost jumping fad and the generic rehashed feeling iterations.

Also MRW is average at best, especially on Xbox one, graphics are terrible since it runs at such a low resolution.

One thing to mention, the connections on infinite warfare Xbox one are some of the worst in the franchises history. It makes some matches unplayable as the host advantage is extremely strong.

I think Modern warfare remastered is the best COD this year and when you buy it you also get a free copy of Infinite warfare.

I'll get the cod with omega 3 (legacy edition) instead.

You could say that about a lot of games like fifa, nba etc. Some people are happy with that and thats their choice, COD changed for the worse but MWR is bringing it in the right direction again

That's not exactly promising for them though is it if people are prepared to wait for black friday when they haven't been before, not to mention BF1 seems to be holding it's own. It might be, but it's taken another big 46 % dip in sales from release date and that following the week before when it dipped 38% (global figures), but I agree with you that it might actually be everyone was holding off until black friday.

The multiplayer is designed to give an advantage to people who play more and pay more.
Maybe some people are ok with that but personally I want to play on a level playing field, not go back to the bad old days of enemies running through bombs, bullets and bazookas to the face - and taking me out with an elbow :confused: - get stuffed CoD.

Guess everyone is playing Modern Warfare like myself then. Played Infinite Warfare online and its terrible.

Don't know why they dont just do a new one similar to Modern Warfare without all the new ****. Will probably work wonders for them.

If your fine buying the same damn game every year then yeah its good value. Got to give credit to Activision's marketing fooling people into buying this trash every year.

Personally I finished the campaign in one sitting and I quite like it and certainly the best I've played in the last few years..

For £24 its a brand new game good graphics. Good singleplayer & good zombies. Multiplayer isnt amazing, but still playable.
