Good price so soon after launch but the game is utter crap.
Who would that be? As far as I'm concerned COD 4 remaster is the main COD game this year. I seriously suggest people to avoid this. Infinite Warfare's multiplayer honestly feels like a free to play game so any price is a bad price.

Didn't enjoy the beta but bought it for the single player campaign with some tesco club points.
Having a blast so far and looks great on the Pro, nice crisp clear image. Obviously it's a typical COD campaign with huge set piece spectacles but enjoying the flight sections and pulling yourself around with the grapple etc.
How missions and chapters progress is a little different too compared to previous campaigns, you're the captain on the bridge of a ship and you choose whether to progress the story or do side missions that rewards you with gear upgrades to help towards the main missions.

Nothing about being cool though is it really, how many more COD's are we going to see with the same rehash over and over, even resorted to remastering games now too, the only saving grace for this year is that they chose the best COD to remaster.
Shovelware at it's best really

My point is that you shouldn't decide whether to buy the game or not based on metacritic reviews. I've purchased games in the past that have had mediocre reviews yet I've found them to be very good. For example, lightning returns which was very mixed, I thought the game was a good 8/10, though like you say... All down to opinion

All review sites have gone downhill so much in the past 3 years. Too many critics with a heavily waited/biased/paid opinion.
I've not played IW yet but I know what to expect; an overly ridiculous SP which had steadily gone downhill since Ghosts, a MP which requires you have consumed copious amounts of drugs to keep up with what is happening with terrible maps, and a zombie bolt on which hasn't been the same since BlOps1. I doubt I'll be wrong.

This isn't as bad as people are making out. Infinity Ward make the worst COD games (Sledgehammer, the a-team, take the reigns next time) but even a bad COD still plays well enough. It just lacks originality, and isn't as tightly put together.

Get the legacy edition if you can, it comes with modern warfare remastered, which was the original really big one (4th in the series but first one that went massive, and arguably the best).
I've been a massive cod fan since I first got my ps3, it's been my go-to game series for years, but honestly, infinite warfare is terrible, modern warfare remastered is excellent. If u can afford the legacy edition, get it for modern warfare remastered, otherwise don't waste your hard earned cash on infinite warfare.

Majority of the user reviews are bias as hell. Sure it's not as good as previous CoD installments but if it didn't have a "CoD" label to it people would think it's a good game. Majority of those reviews are negative due to the fact you need this game to access MWR. Majority of the professional reviews I'd agree with it's about a 7/10 It's nothing over the time special, but it runs and plays fine.

Having got both Cod IW and Battlefield 1 as gifts I'd say I have a neutral opinion :stuck_out_tongue:
Battlefield 1 is pretty well polished, it's not the kind of game though that you just run around trying to kill people because a) the maps are far bigger than cod ones and b) you don't have thermal acog silencer guns. Having said that some people still snipe from ridiculous places. Coming from cod only it was quite a steep learning curve and it's only amazing if you are in a group with people you know.
IW is just awful though, doesnt feel like cod aside from the whole 2 shot kill with any half decent gun. The campaign looks good, it really does but it doesnt play good. Even the cod4 remastered kind of feels off. Like iw multiplayer that's put on a Halloween costume of cod4. I've still kept it for a day I feel like playing it but I'd recommend bf1 and finding groups of people to play with.

The general opinion I've read is that for Infinite Warfare the single player campaign is OK with a few good levels, and the Zombies mode is good fun, but the multiplayer modes are poor. I've ordered the legacy edition for £45 because I wanted Modern Warfare remastered, and I will play the Infinite campaign and Zombies too, but probably quit the multi by rank 5 if it's as bad as people say.

the low user score is due is due to idiots giving it like 0 out of 10. Regardless on your feelings on COD or the copy/paste nature of the game, it still isn't a flipping 0. The critic score is 72 which is probably about right considering we're so far into the franchise.

Hey this game isn't too bad! The zombies mode is the best thing about it imo which is a lot of fun and worth it for that alone. The campaign is also definitely worth a play as it's as solid and action-packed as usual. The multiplayer is typical CoD, which is pretty much the same as the others, I think it's great when playing 2-player split screen, basically one of the few good split-screen games that exist nowadays.

Its also the 'cool' thing to say crap games aren't crap. I've played almost every COD game and Infinite Warfare is complete trash. I think this is a bit extreme. I thought it was decent. Not as good as previous iterations- e.g. I'm not sure what they are trying to achieve with the pointless navigation around the ship pre-mission. It has a Destiny type feel to it. It's just an average game. Tempted to pick up Titanfall or Battlefield now that I have traded this in. Anyone got a preference for either? It looks a close one to call.

And you will find many reversed their decision. There are also tech tests objectively providing proof the net code is the best the series has had.

Honest question... is this what political correctness has done to combat games? You used to be able to war against realistic real world enemies in 'could be current events' narratives, now doomed to forever war against fictional space forces and zombies because violent ideologies have hidden as 'culture' and its now uncool to hunt them down?
That's how it appears. I just wondered if that's how it plays too. You can get away with hunting historical Germans but not present-age theocratic tyrants.

So, what is your point?
Having a blast so far and looks great on the Pro, nice crisp clear image. Obviously it's a typical COD campaign with huge set piece spectacles but enjoying the flight sections and pulling yourself around with the grapple etc.
How missions and chapters progress is a little different too compared to previous campaigns, you're the captain on the bridge of a ship and you choose whether to progress the story or do side missions that rewards you with gear upgrades to help towards the main missions.
Shovelware at it's best really
sharper image, more detail and 60fps and no variable resolution seem to be the improvements.
With regards to the legacy edition is that likely to reduce? £60 seems a little steep for my liking, especially when the main title is down to £32 already!?
which is the best to go for? I'm a casual gamer (dad of 2) that's enjoys a campaign but also a few drunken bashes at multiplayer modes.
Or there should be.
Nevertheless it's definitely a really good deal for the price and I appreciate some may like it.
If you're a fan of Call of Duty 4 and World at War, I wouldn't recommend buying it.
This game is amazing value and for the first time all 3 modes are fun. It is more accessible than black ops 3. The single player is perhaps the best they have ever done.
I decided to give it another go and now i havent gone back to mw remastered ,once you level up quite a bit and unlock the better stuff feels like a different game to me
Much better than advanced warfare
I'd have thought that the copies still being sold now would include it so not like its matching up and finding every time that theres a player without the map.
picking one up anytime soon. Stuff like charging full price for a remake of MW1 tells me all i need to know about activision. Same crap different title with each release.
Take a free weekend until the 14th with the free demo in PS Store and on Steam.
Hopefully now this will teach Activision a lesson.. so glad I picked up mwr for 32.99 from cdkeys at the start great game. And how cod should be, as from mw2/mw3 they have lost there way.
I'd go with Titanfall 2 if you're after a new FPS
I can see this being under £20 by Christmas
Personally I never play as always play conquest, but if you want smaller maps and just run around shooting people it caters for that also.
I prefer cod this year. Best bf in recent years was 3. Really good balance, maps and guns in that.
Voted HOT for the price but it's still over-priced in terms of buying back into the franchise that I'll give it a miss until it falls into bargain basement prices sub £20.
Operations is a bit annoying as defending is really boring and you don't get many points.
think i will give it a miss after that!
Also people have lag tested the game. Despite missing black ops 3's extra telemetry for your online connection, Infinite warfare is the least laggiest cod. But you know 'post facts' world etc.
This doesn't bode well for trade in prices
Streamers going against games is not news though, plenty of cash has been thrown around this year toward other fps. This is hardly a new problem for the biggest games out there.
That's how it appears. I just wondered if that's how it plays too. You can get away with hunting historical Germans but not present-age theocratic tyrants.
