Went on the hunt for the cheap sandwich maker but found this instead. Down from £4.29/ bottle. There was another type on the pallet as well.
Yellow label.

Thank you. This is a great price. A very nice red like most from the southern hemisphere. Stock up now for Christmas

Ah I see, give her a glass of wine, she'll be more likely to make you a sandwich.

Interesting logic, I'll have to try this.

In my local Lidl in Caerphilly, there was a selection of wines @ £2.99 but yesterday they had all been increased in price. The Pedro Jiminez from Chile, which I bought a lot of, is 12% and is now £3.99. I tried the Oz Shiraz which is 13.5% and its very good, as its smooth, not harsh like some cheaper Shiraz wines; its now £3.89. The Italian one was low on flavor - not recommended. The Oz Cabernet was about £4.49; I haven't tried it but I have every confidence in Oz wines. Keep your eyes peeled as Lidl has increased and then reduced the prices again, so they may go back down to £2.99. Another very nice wine @ £2.99 is the Spanish white @ 13.5% Alteza Verdejo Rueda 2015 and I tried it a few days ago when there appeared to be only 4 bottles left and yesterday I managed to find another 6 in a case - recommended.

It's a cabernet sauvignon. it's very drinkable.
the wine is also displayed at the end of an aisle so if it's empty on the wine rack try elsewhere in store.

its a Spanish red 11.5% just opened one here. Buy one tell him its a Merlot and see if he can tell the difference.

heh heh
but Asda has given up 3 for a tenner wines, yet Lidl can still source pretty good wines - from Australia ffs! - and sell them for £3?
Who's winning the war to gain market share?
Did you know Lidl have 29% mkt share in Germany?
