These or Philips Fidelio MKII? Bose are great but the MKIIs won best headphones, and upon testing are extremely clear with good bass

On-ear vs Over-ear. Quite different comfort wise. Philips make some very good headphones.

The Philips hurt a little if you wear specs. Not sure on Bose

you can buy a bluetooth adaptor (non Bose) for less than £20. I bought one from Amazon but I was a little disapointed with the battery life but they worked well for 3 hours at least

I submitted a price match to John Lewis. Would prefer to buy from them than Currys. Let's see what happens!

It's a pet hate of mine when retailers use a photo that has no wires showing to advertise wired headphones. Very annoying. At a glance you'd think they were wireless.

Very good question

miffyl, couple of articles to read before deciding:
Was tempted to get the wireless version but it think this price has swayed me, heat added

Got the Bose QC25, returning them due to right cup dying after just 3 months. Definitely wondering whether Bose are great quality or great marketing...

Shame the price is a little to much for me, I'm sure these would be awesome for gaming and general, Mic would probably beat most budget gaming headsets.
I'd recommend the Sennheiser HD 4.30G's to you too as they are a mix between on & over, so not too large - cups are only 7cm x 8.5cm at their largest, if you'd like to compare with other on-ear ones.

Would probably prefer on ear, sacrifice a bit of noise cancelling but still the same quality and they look nicer imo
Dont wanna go round looking like a 1950s flight controller ^^
Cheers for sharing that! I got it through John Lewis with my Partner discount for £70! HEAT!

They were 99 before though, so its 20 quid off there. Not many people buy at 139\149 I would suggest.

Do you know if John Lewis only sell the navy? I was after the black in that price and can't see it on website.

I find Sennheisers way too audiophile for me
And by that I dont mean Im a basshead, but they literally have NO bass, it is all treble
Pretty sure only classical or country would actually sound amazing on Sennheisers
I had the G4ME ZERO headset and sent it back for exactly that reason, fantastic audio, nonexistent lows/bass
Just picked up a pair of Fidelio MKII for 89, evening delivery, and they look great and the audio quality is amazing
Fair bit of bass too

Ok, in that case you didn't read the review I posted in that thread. Anyway, pleased you're happy with the Fidelio MKII's for £30 extra.
From the review: "Now, on the other hand, if you’re looking for bass, or just a fantastic low end and midrange, the Sennheiser HD 4.30G should definitely be on your list. Pop fans may miss some detail in the high end, but rockers and hip hop heads are going to love the sound signature."

I dont trust reviews anymore, G4ME ZERO said they were 'punchy' with 'gripping bass'
yet they literally had none, it was shockingly bad
Good price for good headphones ^^

Thing is when you go onto the page regarding these it says in stock.
You then go to the final page to click and collect and the nearest one was 35 miles away.. crazy.
Need to sort out their online stock .

I was more going for the extra warranty and customer service from John Lewis compared to Curry's. I got the black one from curry's and opened it this morning. Thanks for the response though.

What’s the difference between Open-back and Closed-back headphones, and which should I get?
