I have one of these drills and it can only handle light work, drilling into brick is fine but concrete is a step too far.

28 Nov 16#48
But... you would use it for mixing paint(s)
Paints, bit of plaster, small area of dry wall bonding or patching mortar, etc, anything small enough to be done in a 20 litre bucket I woulda thought.
She's not stirring it, she's mixing red and white for a different colour.
I get the mocking of someone screwing the side of a wardrobe that's already been put together, or a guy that can't hold all his limes.
But her usage is seems okay to me.
Is it so difficult to believe there's more than one way to skin a cat?
You've moved beyond mocking a parody and into outright condescension of a chosen method.

Yep I think most here do, the point of that post though seems to have gone over your head..
Men would never use a drill to mix paint, we would use a stick or something, saves messing up your drill and getting paint everywhere, and its not as if its too hard to mix manually is it.
Only reason we would use a mixer bit in a drill is to mix something like tiling grout!

So erm, y'all know it's a mixer bit she's using, yeah?
Your one is an SDS drill. It's an absolute steal at that price. Great for making holes in concrete and chiselling things. However, it's a bit too heavy duty for some tasks. So, you'd also need a lighter drill as well.

The one in your link is SDS so much better. I have an SDS Plus Bosch (can't remember model number) which goes through anything like butter. The 650 is just a normal hammer drill but will be good enough for most people who are just putting up a shelf or something.

Yeah, Tried to register an electric screwdriver via their all-in-one account. Complete nightmare. You end up going around in circles. You login, then attempt to go to My Bosch and it asks you to login or register for an account. Gave up in the end but not before contacting Bosch about the problem. Still awaiting a response after 2 weeks

If you've ever used a good quality cordless drill you wouldn't buy a corded drill ever again!

Possibly true, but........ The vast majority of time for me the drill is used for a few minutes (if that! Read somewhere that the average drill is used less than 20 minutes in its lifetime). Personally I don't want to hang around waiting for it to charge as I've not used it for x number of months.

Great, basic drill. I only use it for the odd shelf or TV bracket but it has worked brilliantly. I suppose if you use it more often a cordless one would be handier, but if you're only using it a few times a year there's no point in spending double this price.
I've got an SDS corded drill and an electric screwdriver with a drill chuck adapter. I probably need to get this deal as sometimes the SDS is like trying to crack a nut with a sledgehammer!

Good price. I'm not too sure on the 2.3m cable length though. It sounds short! I think if you drilled holes at say ceiling height for curtain pole you'd need an extension cable?
crazylegs to ashman33
27 Nov 162#27
Would have thought that would have been pretty obvious, no one in there right mind would try to go up step ladders to drill a hole without having there mains drill plugged into an extension lead as you just know there wouldn't be enough length!

Just picked up the 680 version from my local B&Q for £36 as my 20 year old Black & Decker got leaked on while in the garage :disappointed: used the 680 this morning and it was happy drilling a wall so I could hang a mirror.
All the Bosch drills being sold at the moment are good quality, they have really upped there game!

Decent drill for excellent price, but do note this is not for heavy consistent use. Good for the occasional DIY. For heavy use SDS is a must

When it comes to hammer drill, I always go for SDS drill. Quick release and no need for a key.
I notice the Bosch PBH 2100 on Argos is also on sale as well for £54.99, cheaper than Amazon (£78.99). If it's got higher wattage, I'd have gone for it.

I have one of these. It is good and will cope with brick. The keyless chick does slip occasionally when trying to drill concrete so I had to buy a Makita SDS drill for that. Between them I have everything covered
