Just ordered, thanks very much. I would have voted hot but not hot or cold buttons available. Must be a fault on the site as it is letting me post this.

I have a ramekin type dish in the kitchen filled with bird seed. When I'm cooking and fat comes from the food I pour it into the dish.
When it's full I put it in the freezer for 24hrs and then dip the dish in boiling hot water. The fat/seeds comes out easily and I put it on the bird table. The birds love it. It stops fat going down the sink.

When using a normal small bird feeder just glue a larger plastic pot tray, I use a 4" one below mine and any spillage go to any wood pigeons(hav'nt any in garden for last few weeks).Fed over a dozen sparrows today with bread (Discounted loaves)with margarine worked by hand to produce a mix which they love year after year to feed there young and themselves.
Been doing that for over 2 decades.
