Pretty box but doesnt look like it contains the 6th disc which is part of the magic of the series. Shame :disappointed:
Should add that the 6th disc contains all the making of films and special features - harder to get hold of this these days :disappointed:

Thanks for pointing this out just stopped me from pulling the trigger on it. I want the full series including the making of it.
Just found the 6 disc one (not steelbook) on Amazon for £18.12 so ordered that one.

5 Disk version in £9.99 on Amazon. Is it worth £8.13 for the 6th disk?

It's a couple of pounds more than when I bought it, but CeX have the 6 disc digipak "Special Edition" release for £10 (+£2.50 del, up to 10 items per basket).
I was lucky as I picked it up at a store, and even had a choice of 2 or 3 cases to pick from.

Note this is Planet Earth not Planet Earth II which was broadcast last night. If you want the series that started last night have a look on the BBC Store

Note that's only a download link. I'd go for the Blu Ray boxset - Planet Earth 1 was certainly worth every penny for a disc. And can re-sell if you so wish.

I agree that Planet Earth was amazing, just wanted to make sure people were aware that it was the series that started last night as one poster seemed to think it was. I guess the blu ray will be out before Xmas.

Personally I think such programmes deserve a Blu-ray disc. I remember streaming one of the episodes where thousands of birds were flying and you could see the pixelation due not sufficient bitrate. Disc solves this problem.

would like to think so,but looks unlikely,as the BBC store which sold dvd closed & the new BBC store sells only digital downloads to keep, pointless imo,as you can watch for free on Iplayer

Please be careful in ordering what appears to be bargain prices from these 'just launched' sellers. There is no feedback and no detailed seller information. i recently bought from a similar just launched seller and it was a scam. got my mony back from amazon a-z guarantee.
Opening post
the best natural history series ever made
the start of Series 2 was also pretty damn good... them snakes were seriously evil
