​I think I've only had one experience with an Archos tablet (apart from back in the day, when I had one of their hard drive 5" screen media players that I loved!) Two years ago, at Black Friday at Asda, we bought a really cheap 7" Archos tablet, took it home, turned it on, waited ages for it to very slowly boot up, saw the frankly awful screen resolution, then returned it immediately! We also bought an 8" Polaroid tablet that was surprisingly high spec for the price, and it was really good... for the first few hours, until the battery went faulty. We exchanged it for another one, but after a few days that also had a faulty battery... Unfortunately, by the time that one died, we had already ordered a cheap case and screen protector from ebay, but that was only a few pounds, so didn't waste much. Shame, because if it wasn't for the battery issues, it was actually a really good (cheap) tablet.

I wouldn't go near an Archos.

The way I see it is that even though it couldn't take advantage of what I thought was a good deal, it would be nice to share it with my favourite community! Normally when I see a deal, I think "I must post that on HUKD!" only to find it has already been posted, so I haven't had many deals on here... But posting this has been an amazing experience! I never thought one of my deals would ever get this hot, let alone be shared on the WhatsApp feed, or be the top deal in the daily email!

I have got limit of 6500 on ebay so cant post any more laptops so I'm selling them on facebook buy, sell and swap manchester group but still got tab A 7" on ebay.

Dundee (Milton) had a black Pentax Q camera and a red Nikon S1 both £96 about an hour ago.

​In the Bournemouth St Pauls store there are what appear to be two new machines next to two of the older ones... The new machines are vending machine style (you insert money into the machine, as opposed to paying at the desk), but rather cleverly do not give change! I've also heard from a customer who tried to use one, but failed, because they don't seem to like the new (meat-filled!) £5 notes...

I guess it depends if the refit is to replace the old terminals (the ones in my store are over 10 years old (judging by the Manufacturing date on the side) or just re brand by putting new sticker over the existing machine fronts. I doubt they'll be replacing all the terminals in one hit.

Has anyone tried Asda Living in Wrexham? I'm tempted to make the journey but if someone's been that would be useful.

I checked two places in Bristol (Cribbs and Longwell Green). Neither had the camera in. Apparently several people have been asking about laptops and cameras but no stock arrived. This seems to happen a lot.

The Nikon camera would have been perfect for an Xmas gift. Ah well.

This morning In Aberdeen Bridge of dee i got the Samsung Galaxy note pro reduced from £499 to £120 Bargain! they had also been selling the white version for £96 also have some kids tablets etc

The in-store Photo booths were Asda owned and they've been sold to Photo-Me, so there will be a change over but they will still be a photo facility in store. I guess the change may be as they have new branding put in place and they shuffle the inventory that's going to remain Asda owned (such as the frames that will be home ware, or the Memory cards -IT bits)

Hopefully that changeover will involve new terminals that don't take an age to select, verify and upload an image, or have some of the card slots broke through so much use...

The bigger electrical sections went a long time ago in the stores near me, with a smattering of video games, lower end devices and mobile phones remaining usually in the Select a card and take to till format, rather than a manned electrical point.

At least he/she knows how to write in English.

They seem to hold their price quite well. Newer models in this range have bigger screens and wifi but not much else changes of any great significance. The flippy screen range D5xxx comes with a hefty premium anyway tbh compared to the D3xxx base models

I remember ASDA selling the d5100 off summer 2014 for about £150 so I don't know where they've been hiding them for 2+ years.

Coventry stores (Walsgrave and Binley) had no offer tablets or cameras and didn't see TV. May possibly have laptops.

However, this all sounds a little wild goose chase as I was told the staff have just had their "double discount" weeks, where they tend to wait and buy up the best tech! So that explains why there were virtually no tech at all, offer or not.

I'm still bitter that woman grabbed both Nikon's and a HP laptop in one foul grab.

She spent half an hour on the phone, calling friends and relatives before deciding she needed them all.

We waiting around, hoping she was going to put the Nikon back on the shelf.

We work in the Avalon building and go to Asda most days, usually 12pm on the dot, yet today we decided to hold off until 12:30.

Worst decision of the year. That would have been the most insane deal I've ever had. And would have replaced my 3200.

I'll bet my life those cameras are now on gumtree!

I was literally in Asda Bournemouth, moments before a blonde lady picked up two Nikon cameras. One being the D5100 for £96. I don't think I've ever been so gutted in my entire life.

I did get a galaxy tab E which will make a nice present. But damn, talk about bad timing.
