Avoid - Significant drop in product quality (I have two and am one is breaking every year. The 5 year warranty has come down to a couple of years, presumably as they are getting too many claims. After year two the things get quite expensive if minor parts go.

Tempted... Wasn't sure which to go for, dessicant or compressor. Looks good value for money though. Wonder how noisy it is though?

just upgraded to this model from an older 18l version. Seems to extract a lot more water but the collection container has a lower capacity and I'm emptying it once a day. Definitely doing its job but may not be so suitable for properties being left vacant for a few days at a time (unless you connect the hose for constant emptying) as for the noise.... it's louder than a fridge, it's very noticeable at first but it soon becomes a background hum.

AVOID like the plague.

Got one of these from ebac a few years ago with a free 5 year warranty.

I had to keep sending it back on yearly basis as it kept breaking down.
Usually a different part breaking down each time. In the end I just binned it as I got tired of sending it back even though it was still under warranty.

They are pretty good at taking it back for repair, but it would of been nice to be given a new one instead of constant repairs.

Remember to keep original packaging to return broken items with.

I will never buy ebac again.

I currently own EcoAir DC18 (£149 from Amazon) it works like a charm so far.

The Ebac website says this has a 2 year warranty. 5 year costs £45 extra.

46dB similar to a dishwasher, thats more than i would of thought.

We have that EcoAir and it's SUPERB. Sadly can't see it being on an Amazon BF deal as it's not stocked by them ATM.

Very happy with our Also 20l dehumidifier which cost £99 and holfs 5.5 litres of water. Very quite to.

ebac are the best. mine is still going well in winter months after 15 years.

Ebac are a good company to deal with, but they do seem to have issues.

We bought our Ebac years and years ago and initially it kept breaking down - I think they picked it up 3 times for repair, but then when it was returned it was fine and has worked without a problem ever since!! I would buy one based on their good service.

Bought a Dehum (not this one) last year and is THE BEST 100 quid I have ever spent in my life. Tumble dryers are so dear to run so I sold mine and got this. Hang washing on clothes horse switch this on and direct the air vents to washing and its dry in a few hours. Costs a few pennies to dry 2 loads of washing and no shrunk ruined clothes either. :smiley:

Wouldn't recommend ebac dumidifiers. We have one, have had it for 5 years and it breaks down every 3 months or so. The quality of their products these days are appalling. Avoid at all costs. They offered to extend the warranty to 10 years and we declined as we just want rid of the thing. Hardly draws in any water too.

Had four ebacs over the years. Ist is still working. 2nd packed up and couldn't get the part needed. 3rd and fourth still working but both been back to ebac for repairs. They work well when working, but, I would think twice before buying again.

I bought that Aldi 20 litre one which is the best one out there for drying washing as it's vents are at the top with a directional flap to point at washing. I looked at them for months before i bought, looked at Ecoair etc, desiccant ones which everyone will tell you to buy claiming they work better at lower tempertures but as long as your house is above 13 degrees they work brilliantly so don't listen! I personally advise against dessicant and if you do your research you will find out why, many of them just constantly break down. Mine has a timer so you can put it on during the night and goes off automatically, high and low settings and a massive water tank. My washing is dry in 4 hours. I LOVE IT :smiley:

Yes I bought one of them EcoAir classic second hand off eBay a few weeks ago
It soon started playing up
Got it fixed under warranty luckily
But I will get an Aldi one when they appear in the shops
