I bought one of these last weekend. I've noticed the speakers are terrible. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or is it just mine.

Deal has now ended. had it reserved yesterday for a store pickup. dont be alarmed when you see a full price, as long as it has been reserved at a discounted price they will honour it. bought.

No HDMI, resolution low and has a virus on it called Windows.

As I understand it, the APU in this Acer system is a decent chunk better.

Seems like a good deal for a cheap and functional convertible
Which would people recommend? Or perhaps waiting until Black Friday? :P

The Asus T100 Chi was available at this price, a couple of months ago. Unfortunately it looks like the deal is no longer available. If they they do turn up again at this sort of price then they are an absolute bargain. Well built, excellent screen and battery life.

The 64gb drive version is also reduced, but not greatly, £199.

Just be careful with these due to the low storage. I bought my missus a similiar device last christmas, it was on Windows 8 at the time and I upgraded it to Windows 10. Just with Windows 10, AntiVirus, Office and bundled crap there wasn't enough space to perform the anniversary update.
I got it running in the end but it was a hell of a lot of work. Okay if you are reasonably techie otherwise you may want to look for one with 64GB storage.

4GB RAM and 64GB storage at a reasonable price increase would be a sweet spot for these devices. As you say, 32GB is tight during upgrades and almost half the RAM can be gobbled up by Windows alone.

I was looking for something like this for my partner while she's at work. Though when she gets downtime she likes to go on Netflix. Anything sub 1080p display is fairly poor in this day and age for a laptop/tablet.

In fairness with Windows you're going to be whacking the desktop scaling up to like 150% on a full HD 10" display so this is giving the same amount of desktop space, puts a little less demand on the battery and GPU, and is cheaper than any 1080p devices other than the Chinese tablets from iffy sites without proper warranty in place.
It's a cheap device, it's got a cheap display.

Care to post a convertible with a 1080p display at this price point?

This is pretty good considering it's a z8300. It's got around twice the GPU grunt of the usual Z3735 tablets you get at this price.

One thing to note with these is don't permanently plug the charger in as it kills the battery. When you need to charge it charge it otherwise don't connect the charger.
Other than that good little machine with decent battery life. It's no power house but general surfing it's great.

You can't put an internal ssd on a tablet. Because this is essentially a tablet with a keyboard.
