Reims is in France. Reams is in Sainsbury's (if there are any left at that price).

Sorry to roll all this positivity up into a paper ball but does this not make people more likely to use it wastefully and therefore more damaging to the environment? At least with paper at normal prices it has a remote chance of being from sustainable forests and people will also use it more sparingly?

Thanks for pointing this out. You are so right, what a beautiful thought, I am in floods of tears writing this as I think of the massive damage I could cause the environment by printing on paper. In fact, I am going to stop writing immediately and switch off my computer, as writing this post is unnecessary and therefore not using electricity sparingly. So important that we each do our bit!

I don't think this will result in people using significantly more paper if indeed it has any effect on consumption at all. Also cost is no indication of green credentials. My reasoning is that printing things out is non-addictive and is not motivated by any human instinct. If for instance the price of mars bars is reduced to 10p then people might eat more of them, because we've evolved to look out for fat and sugar which would be hard to come by in the natural world. I've never met anyone who just loves a printout and can't stop printing if you give them a box of paper. I'd also suggest that increasing the cost of paper would simply move the problem elsewhere. If you pay more for something then someone somewhere is making a bigger profit. How do they spend that money? Is it on reforestation or is it on a supercar? Getting to the bottom line on these things isn't a no brainer.

Cheap paper will constantly jam your printer. I have used 75gsm and had the same problem. I have never had problems with 80gsm and above. Given how cheap it is I am sure lots of people will give it a go but just watch out for nasty clanking noises and shut your printer down immediately. If your printer can cope then its a bargain.
