Folks, reading the comments here I agree with some folks on here. Get a Raspberry Pi and install Retropie on it. Must admit I would recommend getting a Raspberry Pi 3 as you get wifi and bluetooth support on there. I used BerryBoot to install it which is quite simple as it does all the work for you. Not only can you install Retropie but you can also turn the Pi into a full computer with various versions of Linux  Win win all round with a Pi and you choose the games you want to play :stuck_out_tongue:

This has got a 2.5" screen. Worse than useless.
You'd be better off getting a raspberrypi compatible screen of decent size & cutting your own Mdf out to make a mini cabinet. The most expensive bit would be the controls, but there's cheaper versions of the arcade quality ones you usually find linked to builds if you're not wanting professional quality.

Thats exactly what I have done over the last few days and my snes controller arrived this morning, I can't get enough of Metal Slug on the Neo Geo and Pang. I was looking at this wondering if it can be butchered and a RPI installed I fancy the Picade but at £180 its probably not worth it to me.

Search "Atari" in Amazon, plenty of retro style consoles and joysticks to choose from.
Mame is all you need, google or eBay it. Can be loaded on to raspberry pi, nice and compact or go for the ultimate upright or cocktail machine.

A raspberrypi with retropie is unbeatable imo. If you want it cheap as possible then a raspberrypi one (the original version) will do, & you can get snes style usb pads that are much better than the price suggests for just £5 for two on eBay from UK sellers.
And of course making a picade yourself would be miles better than this thing, & a lot more satisfying too.

I've not even paid for the item but accepted my order....
I use studio all the time, its like any other catalogue, you can either log back in an pay what you owe instantly once items receive or you pay off bits at a time with interest. I personally have had no issues, I always just pay everything instantly.

Couldn't you rip the screen out of this and hook it up to a retropie? I'm kinda tempted just for the hell of it. Looking for a fun project!

If there was a guide to rig up a raspberry pi to the screen and controller... I would buy it (picade)

Obviously a great price, but I don't like the idea of the business itself. Some bad reviews on trust pilot (as well as some good). Pass.

Iirc, companies can register themselves on trust pilot and remove bad reviews anyway, I wouldn't trust that site as far as I could throw it.

They have an unusual way of doing business. Either you sign up for a credit account (48% APR) or you choose a cash account, where they perform a "quotation search" on you, send the item if you're approved, and then bill you.
