Great little stocking filler for kids and big kids alike. It's palm sized and very robust so you don't have to be too gentle with it. They come in red or yellow and the colour will be chosen at random but at this price you can't really grumble. You'd be hard pushed to get a model one for that price never mind a remote control one that actually flies!

http://pdm.gw-ec.com/uploads/2015/201508/heditor/201508031729454174.jpg

Currently £6.71 but use code SG99 and it magically drops to £3.99 with free UK delivery and you can pay by Paypal if you are worried for extra reassurance. Part of Sammydress's Singles day 11/11 promotion.

Singles Day Highlights

If you order 2 or more you get free priority direct mail upgrade which means they get here quicker within 7- 15 business days - only works on 2 or more though.

You can control it left, right, up and down and it even has music and lights! 45 minutes of charge gives you 8 minutes of flying time and the control distance is 50 metres - has great reviews as well.

Don't like the fact that there are only email and phone options for contact, no physical addresses or return addresses. No idea who they are or where they are.

I've never ordered from this site before but I ordered 2 posters from Teefury for total of £12 with £6 shipping and I had to pay a customs charge of £12.62 on top when it got here to royal mail (which included £8 handling fee). the customs charge ended up costing more than the actual posters did! lol xxx I guess I'm just saying be wary cos I've had stuff from America before and no charges then this last week. guess it's a game of hit and miss

They are in China. Check their reviews on Trust Pilot. They don't have a contact address and you have to leave a message with an answering machine in order to get a return ticket. You pay return postage and they deduct a percentage if they ever do refund you. Maybe worth a go for a couple of quid.

Sp0oner

http://www.rcmania.com/syma-s107g/

Read the reviews for them, it's been regarded the best budget 3 channel heli since they came out. The one in this deal isn't 3 channel so it can't be controlled forward/back and they really are rubbish compared to a 3 channel, i've had one and just doesn't compare.

I know £4 is throw away money but if you really want to at least have some fun and enjoy it i'd say pay £12 and get the Syma.

The Syma has also been posted on here numerous times over the years and always been popular so can maybe search back and see what other HUKD members think of it.

JDPower
12 Nov 16 #107
Drones are generally multi rotored/engined (for stability) radio controlled choppers that film/photograph. This is a single rotor, infra red controlled chopper, that just (sort of) flies
TallerPaul
13 Nov 16 #108
As much as that's true you normally need a more expensive drone to hover properly, i recently purchased a £40 drone from MenKind had built in camera/camcorder that refused to work and the drone would only fly forward lol wouldn't hover, however RED5 which is owned by the same people as MenKind do a microdrone with no camera for £20 and that thing can hover in 1 spot properly.

I own a Syma already micro copter its pretty good and i'm quite good at controlling it however its about 2 years old now and it's internal battery is dying, not sure if i'm going to keep this one for myself or give it to my partners son so we both have a micro copter to mess about with lol.
JDPower
13 Nov 16 #109
There's a reason proper drones cost in the hundreds. You wouldn't get a decent camera for £40, let alone one attached to a functional drone. The things you mention are basically RC toys using drone as a buzzword.

15 Nov 16 #112
well not all good my order got cancelled and refunded so my TCB for 15% may get declined even tho i just re-ordered but ordered 2 instead this time with priority mail and the SG99 code still worked.
However found something a bit cool
If you create a Sammydress account you get 10 S Points, upload a random avatar get another 10S points, complete personal profile get 20 S points, verify your account 100S points and if it's still there on home page theres a spin the wheel thing where i won 200S points.

So i went through TCB prob will get 6% tcb as my first order was a dud so it prob wont track at 15%, i used 147Sammy points + SG99 and bought 2 with free priority shipping for only £5.73 ($6.92 current paypal exchange rate)

Oh and if you want to use your sammypoints, when you have everything in your basket and used discount code, dont click on paypal continue through to end of checkout as you can only pay by paypal but it will give you option of spending SP

There isn't even a charging port on the helicopter so no idea how it recharges.
It will be a 10 minute stocking filler so worth the money

Really? Well, it's almost like everything people warned about them was true. Shocker :smirk:
leeparsons
27 Nov 16 #125
I received mine this evening. I have inserted the batteries, and have placed the copter onto the usb. How long does it take to charge from it? I see there is a red light and I believe i saw a green one on the copter. But nothing is happening, and i am beginning to think its a DOA
solid
27 Nov 16 #126
Doesn't bode well for the rest of us who have ordered these:(
dinobev
27 Nov 16 #127
Ok so to charge you push the helicopter on the controller USB and there's a little light.
Leeparsons sorry you might have a DOA, mine all worked before I charged them.
By the way there's a little stabiliser bracket cellotaped to the box. Not sure why it's there and not already installed to the helicopter but it's made it at lot easier to control!
solid
27 Nov 16 #128
Any chance you could share how the bracket should be attached? A photo or something?
leeparsons
27 Nov 16 #129
So what did you do exactly then? Just inserted the batteries into the controller and then hit the throttle, to take the copter of, from the start?
JDPower
27 Nov 16 1 #130
I suspect he's referring to the little plastic bar that attaches between the top rotor and gyro arms, have circled it below (it usually comes unattached with these helicopters IIRC):
http://i.imgur.com/bZ3uDxs.jpg
dinobev
28 Nov 16 #131
Yeah that's all I did. Inserted batteries, turned both helicopter and controller on. Waiting a few seconds for them to sync and it just worked.

JDPower is right. It's just a simple ball and socket. Just push until it clicks into place.
solid
28 Nov 16 #132
Regarding the stabiliser - my copter had one already attached, and a second tapped to the box - do both need to be attached, or just one?

JDPower
28 Nov 16 1 #135
They won't work well outside, so be prepared to have them lost or busted
solid
29 Nov 16 #136
Oh, really? Maybe I should save them for a larger place that is indoors?
In any case, I think the main issue will be having for of them working in close proximity - will the remotes start controlling each others machines,??
JDPower
29 Nov 16 1 #137
They will partially work, but with loss of control and sudden unresponsiveness (due to interference of the IR beam by the sun's own IR, and lack of walls for signal to bounce off). And obviously any amount of wind will be troublesome, as will range.

If they work the same as the Syma/Silverlit choppers do, using several together will work fine. Just have to make sure to turn on each chopper and control one at a time so they sync up with the correct controller
Sophiasky
1 Dec 16 #138
Mine turned up today and have now fitted the stabiliser. Can I just use a double ended USB to charge this, or do the batteries have to be used as well? Thank you.

3 Dec 16 #142
I didn't have unrealistic expectations for the price, being able to have some sort of control over the flight (other than vertical control) would have been nice. I've already got a light up ball that I can bounce off the ceiling and it hits the floor, it also has no further abilities and cost me a quid.

I threw the box away without checking if there is a stabilizer or not. Now it's almost impossible to fly the helicopter :disappointed:

I don't think Sammydress are sorry for any trouble. I have contacted their customer services several times about the items I ordered which never arrived, and they basically fob you off! I am now going through Paypal to try and get a refund. Although after reading other people's negative reviews I'm not sure I will have much luck, as they are a company trading in China and people have said they have used false tracking numbers. I've also noticed that on every negative review they get on here and trustpilot, they always reply to make the company look good.

This helicopter was terrible. I understand what people are saying you get what you pay for, BUT it really doesn't work . It is impossible to control it just goes in wild directions. So yes, it's cheap so was never going to be amazing but surely you would expect it to do a basic flight . Just a warning for anyone who's kids may open it Christmas Day and get their hopes up too much

Really. And so many positive reviews for it in this thread. Shocker.

All these people complaining they bought junk from a shoddy company, after they were warned they were buying junk from a shoddy company :smirk:
hursty321
19 Dec 16 #156
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the company in my opinion, just that product was poor. I didn't read poor reviews before purchase either so yes it was a shock.

Why do you feel the need to be so smarmy anyway? What are you or anyone gaining from your message?

Hi dear customer, may I know what's wrong with your helicopter? If it doesn't work for some reason, we'd like to re-send you a new one to try if it works well. Thank you.

I bought a few of these for my nephews. All of them continuously spin around and there is no way to move them left or right.

Has anyone else had these problems and is there a fix?

The packaging had a very small black thing that attaches to the roaters - have you got that attached?
