I'd been keeping an eye on this laptop since Friday hoping something just that bit better came up, but I might end up biting the bullet on this one.

I took out the additional 3 year warranty for £49 (HP 3 year Pickup and Return Notebook Service) which also got discounted with the 15%. I have added this to the post

I was considering this laptop also, but just found a pretty much identical spec one from acer for £40 less using today 15% discount code found on their webesite, so works out at £425. I would post a link but having its not letting me view the product now, but you can still find it and add to basket as i just ordered one, the model "Aspire F 15 Notebook | F5-573 | Silver", might be worth checking out.

I went for the Dell too. Reserved it in store and went to pick it up today but when I saw it on display it looks like a nice machine but it was too huge and heavy for me so didn't get it

There seem to be two models with different specs, but the one i just ordered has the following
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Intel® Core™ i5-7200U processor 2.50 GHz
39.6 cm (15.6") Full HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9
8 GB, DDR4 SDRAM
256 GB SSD
Intel® Shared Memory
Unfortunately thats all i can link which is the brief product description under the item image.
For some reason when i click the product it just takes me to the top of the page and wont let me look at the full description, but you can see the specs from the list of products..

You can see it and pick it from the list of laptops and add it to basket and complete checkout, but you just cant click on it for the full description, it was working perfectly earlier on. There are two identical models with different specs, model is Aspire F 15 Notebook | F5-573 | Silver, you can see the brief description under the image. Hope that helps.

28 Nov 16#22
Regarding the Acer laptop specs, you can see it if you click on the "Add to compare", and then click on "Compare".
Admittedly the spec sheet is not very well written but you do get to see what's on offer. Hope that helps.
I'm in two minds whether to get this Acer laptop with the SSD drive. I've already ordered the Crucial 525GB SSD from Amazon, so will put that in and keep the 256 as a spare or possibly install it in the DVD drive slot.
Still decidiing, and time is running out.
Seems the same as the HP but no optical drive and slightly heavier at 2.30kg

I ordered the HP then saw this Acer and decided to get the acer. With 4 year warranty for £484 which is a great deal I think. Gonna try and cancel the HP now

I wonder is the no optical drive a mistake on the acer, the other variants ie HDD model seem to have it, bit of a **** if it doesn't have one

I notice the HP also in the i3-7100u variant for £100 less - http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=Z5D58EA&opt=ABU&mastersku=Z5D58EA&masteropt=ABU&sel=NTB&
