This is a fairly new ZTE phone and sells for knocking on £200 on Amazon. Looks like 3 has the network exclusive in the UK and they're selling it for £129.99 on payg plus compulsory £10 top up - unless you're already a 3 customer.
And all 3 phones are unlocked and SIM-free.
It's in stock in stores and I bought a payg one yesterday, but appears to be only on contract at the moment online.
Seems like a pretty good deal for this midranger. It's got a 5.2 inch, edge to edge screen, thin metal body, dual SIM (well, two nano sims or one nano sim plus a microSD card), 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM.
The screen looks very good and the phone is pretty speedy. Only had it for a day, but the battery seems ok and looks like it will last at least 24-hours with moderate use between charges.
And, no, this is not the Blade V7 Lite. Or the V7 Max for that matter.

all I want is a 5in screen and 32gb built in memory, yeah I know I can use SD cards but a lot of apps won't work with SD. not fussed about any other specs but it's surprisingly hard to find something simple with 32gb.

Can anyone thing of a better 5" or 5.2" size phone? (my Mrs is refusing to entertain using a 5.5" phone!)

Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro. Loads of threads on that here already.

It's MediaTek MT6752 though....and Meditek have a history of flakey issues associated with their chips as they don't comply with the GPL policies.
2500 mAh battery is also very poor. You'll be lucky to get through a full day with that if you use the phone regularly with apps.
Sorry, but definite COLD. Nice exterior design but the weird UI, small battery, Mediatek chip, and lack of fingerprint sensor kills it for me.

So bizarre the "better model would lack a finger sensor when the lite model has one

Can anyone confirm that this version definitely has gyro and compass. Specification on 3 website refers to accelerometer and proximity sensors only.

I've tried the phone with a VR headset...and yes it has a gyroscope.

Very true. Although here in Nottingham West the 4G is not considerably faster than o2's 3G service. Might affect coverage on Vodafone too.
One big advantage of the ZTE (if you are on three) is that it's the first budget phone to have three's VoLTE service so can use the 800 MHz spectrum that might help indoor reception depending on location.

Pretty similar specs to the Infocus M560 that can be had on eBay for £80 (was £70 pre brexit) and it can take 2 Sims and MicroSd which is a bonus to many (and getting pretty rare nowadays)

Just to let you know, the phone I bought from 3 is definitely unlocked, apparently all 3 phones are unlocked. I'm using it on Vodafone.
One thing worth pointing out is there is no NFC so no Android Pay.
And, according to reviews, ZTE has promised an update to Android Nougat. But the 3 phone has a 3 ROM - only shows in splash screen and a few 3 apps that can be uninstalled. Don't know if this will affect ZTE's plans to update to Nougat.

Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, dual-SIM, 5.2" 1080, Octa-core, Marshmallow. Good deal if you can live without fingerprint.
If you into rooting and custom ROMs seems it's not widely available for V7 yet. Most info I could find relates to V7 Lite.

I hope they ordered enough, and it can be unlocked, and they drop the price by £30…!

Not seeing the advantage of this phone over the cheaper Snapdragon 650 Xiaomi Redmi 3 Note.
Weird that it has no fingerprint scanner when the V7 Lite does.
