Ready to get back in to PC gaming. Going to sell my Xbone and keep PS4 to fund it. But I hear the 1050 and 1050ti are out soon and should be £110-140 and game run most AAA games at 1080p at 60fps+

Those cards will be fine, but not very future proof. The 1060 6gb will likely still be a good sweet spot, unless you are saving money now with the intention of upgrading in about a year

A little tip, I use Inputmapper, a Windows program that let's Dualshock 4 work fully on Windows, rumble, touchpad and all, and is brilliantly configurable.
You won't get a better gamepad for the PC.
That last sentence was just put in as bait.

Isnt the EVGA Superclocked Edition only £20 more and brings better performance?

Easier to overclock it yourself with a YouTube guide, and you save £20.

Brand name doesn't dictate what clock speeds you'll get.
So the answer is no. Not necessarily.

Two weeks ago i bought this graphic card for 230 on amazon. It was the cheapest available. Good deal. I would recomend the graphic card i can run anything on max specs for now.

yeah i thought about doing that, but, apart from OCing it yourself, i dont think its worth the extra money on a mid-range, i'd rather put it towards a 1160 or something. I'm going with the fast-upgrade mid-spec approach from now on. I got a 770 4gb last time and in hindsight it didnt get the extra lifetime i would expect for the extra cost

thats because you are buying nvidia! go amd for extra lifetime. the 290x is still doing well in recent games. 780 ti not so much

Very nice, tempted to get this to upgrade from the 560ti I have in my 1st gen i7 920 @ 4.0GHz based gaming system
I know I should probably upgrade my CPU and motherboard at some point soon but seems to hold up pretty well still by todays standards in gaming at least. Any recommendations?

It really depends on what games you play - I'm on a 2600k myself, just one gen newer than yours, and I still can't justify the upgrade either - just upgraded from a radeon 6950 to 2nd hand 970, and I can play all games at more than acceptable settings - If I were you, I'd look at 2nd hand 970 too, your 920 @ 4ghz will be fine for most things

Oh for a single slot version of this or the GTX 1050 :sunglasses:

Hope to god you went with this, gtx 1050 = worse than 960, gtx 1060 = on par with 980

The beast was adorned with a Palit GTX 1060 6GB but the HTPC deserves something powerful in single slot :sunglasses:
