Your darling is going to have to face the horrors of this world at some point....may as well get it out of the way now - stick Jaws on.

Despite the rating Watership down isn't really a kids film. Parts of this could be a bit scary for a four year old though. May-be you could rent it and fast forward through the scary bits?

 ok thanks for letting me know. There was a similar part in watership down which left me severely traumatized! Will give this one a miss.

Upon reflecting on some of my favourite Disney films, they tend to have some traumatic themes which I would want to shelter the youngest from:
Lion king, Aladdin, nemo, bambi - death of parent
Pinocchio, Dumbo - separation from parent
Can anyone confirm if this film has such issues please.

No such issues, although there is some nudity.

My 4 year old is usually fine btu we saw this in the cinema and had to leave. There's a section in the middle where some of the animals turn quite feral and creepy. He was fine watching it later on TV though.

Thanks! Animated animal nudity is ok by me :innocent:
Thanks for the suggestion. Jaws is a bit tame. Will take him to see the exorcist for his 5th birthday. Matchsticks in the eyelids.

Can you get Google Play movies on your TV?

I think certain smart TV's support it, but I haven't seen a lot of them. The easiest way to watch Play Movies on a TV is with a chromecast though.

If you've got a Chromecast you definitely can. Otherwise I believe you can watch them through YouTube on a laptop, so you could connect it to your TV via HDMI.

I can definitely watch the stuff I've bought through Google Play on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/purchases
Not sure if rentals work, but worth a try.
also using chromecast you can or connect you pc/laptop (if you can) via hdmi to your tv.
