I bought 2 of these in April for my 11 & 10 year old. First they are very fit children! My girl is in The crystal palace football academy and my boy has just joined Brighton & Hove Albion. I'm not bragging but just pointing out that they are very fit but these are GREAT fun.
My son bashed his about so I had to tighten chain and bolts on rear. I suggest doing this asap because the metal lock that's attached to rear wheel is not standard. It actually came out but luckily we found it.
We charge over night and it seems like hours that they're riding around.
You jump on, two pushes with a foot like a skateboard and off you go. I weigh about 13st and I've ridden it easy and it nearly goes as fast as my kids.
Definitely fun and worth the money. Fast charge 10hrs blah blah! Just charge it at night and ride next day, when battery dies go play football or trampoline!
Ps the only thing I hate is the handle doesn't fold despite have no cables etc in them. I own a 2 bed flat with limited storage so folding handle bars would have been fantastic.

lol, no, you'll note a deliberate order in the alternatives, I only included public transport since I catch a train on a regular basis from Manchester to Loughborough, even then I stay in a hotel 1.5 miles from the office where I work, to ensure I get a reasonable amount of walking in each day.
It will all change when I move to good ol' US of A, next year, I'll get myself a Mustang, eat Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast and never walk anywhere :smirk:

So you push these and when it hits 3mph it then just runs at top speed till you stop using brake or can you control the speed. Its for my 12 year old son for xmas but thinking this is more for younger kids. Any advice please cos nothing on the net/youtube for this one of any actual help. Thank you.

I would say its worth £60, my only issues are recommended storage charge every two weeks (lead acid batt) and our roads are quite poor, lots of gravel and daughter not keen on wrists getting alot of shake but no worse than a stunt scooter.
P.s. if your roads are poor spend out on Razor E100 as it has numatic front tyre so no crazy rattle/shake and acts like suspension!
Our daughter got one last year, up to 5 miles on paperwork supplied.

You can't charge it over night while your kids are sleeping?.
Some products have no videos at all.
To show it in action they'd have to pay a model..etc. Bit costly, health and safety...etc.
I always use youtube for hands on reviews.

You know, until I read that, I'd never realised how messy brake cables are. Oh no. What if my kids get teased for having messy brake wires on their cycles?
No need to worry, though. Soon after reading that, I removed their brake cables.
The kids should've been back an hour or two ago. I dare say it's their increased popularity, thanks to the newly sleek bikes without messy brake wires, that's keeping them out late.

That must be the most useless product video ever on the Argos website. Just the picture of the scooter with some funky music and stats flashing past. No video of anyone actually using one.
I guess that tells you all you need to know, it will be useless to use.

Oh what you mean the cosmic light? I'd expect it would last days, it wasnt very impressive it certainly isnt a safety thing, its just some leds under a opaque footplate that flash on and off not that brightly, I think it took 4 AA batteries or AAAs anyway rain/puddles got in and corroded it as the battery box and switch are underneath.
I didnt buy it for the lights anyway I bought it because at the time it was the only one at argos that could take upto 50kg, fold and looked sturdy, it was definitely worth the money because he's beaten the hell out of it and its still good.

No I don't have a car, can't justify the cost; it would sit on my drive most of the time, since I cycle, walk or use public transport :stuck_out_tongue:
I simply thought it was odd a child would need a battery powered scooter, which incidentally according to the questions supports up to 50kg, so only very light weight adults should consider. As much as it's nice to treat a child, I'd rather get mine a better quality manual scooter, and educate them in the need to exercise from an early age.

My son has this one, he uses it every day to and from school, he loves it. The light conked out years ago and its a hit rusty, I'm surprised its lasted as long as it has.
Thats something I want to say to anyone thinking of getting their kid a scooter, don't buy the tri wheeled ones with 2 wheels at the front, I've noticed with them they are front heavy with the back wheel often lifting off the floor and the kids going face first, they are also rubbish at turning, better to get one with 2 wheels at the back and 1 at the front or 1 at the front and 1 wt the back.

I agree with u, in those circumstances it's laziness. A bad workman always blames his tools tho. I have a car & choose to walk my kids to school, I walk with my baby & dog 1.5miles to the shops. I'm a size 14 & considered overweight but that's down to what I choose to eat & not having a car.

I don't think you will find children ride around on them 24/7,more of a thing that gets used now and again.
Do you also worry about adults in cars ? Bet you've got a car.

Cars are by far the biggest cause, and pushchairs, I've seen people taking 3 and 4 year olds to the park in pushchairs, as soon as they can walk they should be encouraged out of the chair, good fo hip development. But then the adults aren't much better I take my kid to the park about 3 times a week or more, I'm always the only mum running about on the pirate ship and sitting on the seesaw, everyone else just sits on a bench and plays with their phone leaving the kid to it, no wonder most of em are fat.

Scooters aren't the problem, it's illnesses, food, laziness etc
Children still deserve nice gifts regardless of their weight.
So people shouldn't drive, use buses or taxis coz they're obese?

70kg its for adults/teens, my son has a kids one it says upto 8 years on it and max capacity 50kg, I keep thinking of buying a scooter but I think a folding one is more useful then a electric one, spotted a bloke with one last week, my son was happily scooting along, this blokes motor couldn't get up the hill so he started scooting, seemed to be a lot of hard work as of course they are heavyweight scooters.
